Rain, rain, go away...
Where was he? Dual eyes opened, a soundless whine escaping the dusts throat. His bare feet touched down on frigid, slippery rock, his mind up in the clouds. Rain slid over him, licking and touching at the skin that was frozen yet felt just right. But for some reason he was restless. Krinn glared half heartedly out at the ocean, his hands wrapped tightly around his middle. He couldn't even properly say where he'd gone off to. This place was supposed to be familiar, a safe haven, a place of memories, but it only pressed more and more questions into Krinn's mind. It was frustrating, it was terrifying. Will you ever give them back? The dust looked up at the sky, as if begging for an answer. Thunder crackled in return, and the wind picked up, the sea restless and the waves crashing soundlessly against the rocky cliffs. His head was hurting again, trying desperately to search for any clue as to where he was supposed to start, where he was supposed to go.
But there was nothing but rain and dead ends.
Krinn scowled, his lips drawn into a thin line as he moved forward again, slipping out of the one sleeve of the half kimono and letting it hang around his waist. "I'm not going to play with you," He told the rain under his breath. It just crackled in a mock sort of threat. From early on, the dust had known that he'd had an affinity with rain. The other dust - Hymn, was it? - had told him as much. But even though he'd been tied by essence to it, he still knew its dangerous, temperamental tones. Just like his own. Just like him. One in the same, A voice whispered in cruelty. The dust winced. He'd taken no memories with him when he'd woken up again, only the voice that continued to croon to him about the rain and its ability to wash everything away. The sky hummed from above him, threatening even more downpour. The dust grimaced, setting in place for a minute. He was about to give up and go home. This wasn't worth it anymore. He was getting nowhere. He was more frustrated then ever!
A scream stopped him in his tracks. It was mostly drowned out by the torrential downpour and the crashing waves, but it was there, carried by the high winds and the rain. The dusts head snapped up. Was someone here? Who would be here in such bad weather? Krinn frowned and moved towards the cliffs, his steps picking up until he was almost running. He didn't know his way to where anything was, but through sheer dumb luck, he followed what he'd heard, the rain brushing and stinging his cheeks, telling him to ignore it, to come and play. Out of breath, the other reached the cliffs higher above the sea, and for a moment, he lost his breath, taking in the view. But his eyes were drawn to what he'd been pulled towards, a person on his knees. Something ached inside of him at the sight. What could bring a person to this kind of state in this kind of place? A familiar tug pulled at his chest, but his emotions, out of control and out of order, stopped him from contemplating them with perfect ease.
The downpour did not cease, and in the rain, he watched from far away as the other curled his knees under him and sat, his back turned to the dust. For a few moments, Krinn considered turning around, walking away. He was about to too, when he heard a familiar name on those lips. His heart felt constricted, his mind hazy with a memory on the tip of his tongue that disappeared before he could grab hold of it. Who was this person...? Why did he know him? Better yet, why did this feel different from all of the others he'd met so far? The rain bit his tongue. Carefully, he stepped forward, closing the gap between the back of the teen and himself. Circling around the other, fingers grazing in a ghost touch over the others back and shoulder as if to alert him of another presence, the dust bent down, blocking out the others view of the ocean, dual colored eyes looking restlessly at the person before him. He couldn't think of words. No, not yet.
That skin, those eyes... Something pounded in his chest, a familiar sensation. But every time he got close to an answer, it slipped away. From above, the rain persisted, splattering against him and the stranger and begging for attention. With a slight growl, Krinn turned his eyes skyward. "Stop that!" The clouds above gave an angry rumble, but soon enough, the rain began to lighten. It would come back, and come back soon, because Krinn couldn't control something stronger than himself. But for now, it gave him some time to think clearly, and to talk to this stranger he should have known.

Who are you, who are you, who are you. The words ran soundly through his head; a train of thought he couldn't get rid of. He knew this person, he had to. It was on the tip of his tongue, begging for him to find the answer. But he couldn't, could he? Not even a name came to mind, much less a memory. His gut twisted painfully. Once again, this wasn't how it was supposed to go. The white wall was supposed to break, he was supposed to recall whatever had happened between this stranger and him in the past. A hot, stinging note of irritation played in his mind, making his shoulders slump a bit as he continued to eye the stranger in slight fascination, the rain licking and kissing his cheeks, his tank top soaked through and his hair sticking in places to his skin. It felt homey, but at the same time, it felt foreign and strange.
A part of him wanted to brush the water away from the others face. It felt like an old habit of his, but he couldn't recall a time when he'd done it. How come this person had called his name, and why? What had he done? Or... had he disappeared for too long, upset this other person? Watching Cada carefully, Krinn couldn't help but press his lips into a thin line, his expression reflective and unreadable. Give me something, anything, He begged this stranger in the rain. Tell me what I've been missing. But he knew that wasn't possible, not when this person probably hadn't seen him in god only knew how long. His mind froze though, when hands reached forward, not for his face, but for his hair, and pulled him forward. Letting out a soft yelp, the rain was silenced entirely by a soft press of lips.
Eyes widening, Krinn stared at the boy as he pulled back, his entire mind on meltdown before suddenly jumping back up. Cheeks reddening to that of a tomatoes, the boy caught himself falling off balance and tries to keep himself steady, but instead fell into the other boy, feeling himself swell even more with embarrassment. His eyes flickering widely to the other, barely even noticing how close they were. "C-Cada! Wha - what was that f-for?" He said above the rain, staring at the other in embarrassment. It was only a few moments later that he realized he'd called out a foreign name, but one that felt familiar. Where had that come from?! The dusts breath hitched, a hand reaching to tug and run restlessly through the hair that had been pulled. Letting it drop again, Krinn felt his head swarm with questions. Looking at the strange boy again, the rain felt his throat constrict. Still, no memories came. Not yet.
"Cada...?" Was that the others name? What if it was wrong? But Krinn still wanted to try it out, taste it on his tongue. He wanted to know who this boy was, and what he'd been to the other. If anything at all. But that kiss... just what was going on here?

As the other told him his name once more, confirmed it, Krinn felt himself sink into questions as the rain let up. He felt it licking restlessly at him, chiding him that this boy wasn't important. But he was, wasn't he? The storm tried not to frown, his head aching but not exactly done in. His idea of resisting was soon cut off by the dust's hug. Startled a bit, Krinn gave a small yelp, his hands lifting as if to push Cada away. Soon enough though, they simply found themselves resting on the others shoulders in a half-hug, not sure what the right thing to do was. His eyes lowering, Krinn contemplated this new, sticky information. He pressed his lips together, his cheeks warm even as cool liquid slid down them, licking and kissing.
Listening through the others well worn words, Krinn closed his eyes, willing himself to remember, if only a bit. Voices and nameless figures showed up in the dark, but he was driven away from the ghost of a memory when the other nuzzled him, and then let him go. Everything seemed to be going by so fast, the world was spinning and he was desperately trying to keep up. "Hold on," He said suddenly, after Cada had finished talking. His head ached and he felt sick. "Y-you're telling me that I... what?" Rubbing at his head, the storm tried to ease the information in. Just how much did he not know? Looking up at the other dust, Krinn's mouth formed around the only words he knew. "How long have I been missing for?"
When the other told him to come home, the storm felt something seize in him. Fractured images, a house he felt was familiar. A girl dressed in blues and pinks, a man with gold and black hair... His breath caught in his throat, his head thundering with new information, new memories, new questions. "I'll come home." He murmured finally, his breath catching. What was home exactly? What did it look like, feel like? Who was there? Who was waiting? What would Suika say, if anything? They'd agreed to travel together until he'd found his past, but what if this was it right here? "But... I dont remember much." He said finally, his hands brushing against the stone he sat on with Cada. "I dont remember... anything at all really." He offered a slight, apologetic smile to the dust. A hand ran nervously through his hair. "'m sorry, Cada." He said, even though the name was still foreign. Eyes diverting to the dreary forecast, Krinn exhaled gently. Vague memories drifted in and out. Cada was a friend right? His cheeks tinged red at some of them.
He wanted the other to take him home. But would he, if he knew that Krinn was only beginning to remember?

He was ill at ease under that kind of look. "Its not your fault," He protested avidly when the other apologized. "Dont apologize, please, Cada." At the mention of Sable, Krinn blinked, lifting himself as well to his full height, pony tail swaying, heavy and thick with rainwater. Sable... it sounded familiar. Distractedly, the teen padded along after the other. Sable... the... pink and blue haired girl? The rain closed his eyes, imagining her fuzzy image in his head. Opening his eyes, he looked up at the Pestilence dust, his eyes flickering for a moment. "I hope so." He said softly, wondering just how his memory might be jogged. He wanted to remember. He wanted to remember everything. Feeling a shiver ride his spine, the rain dodged around puddles that reflected the sky, distractedly watching the ground as Cada led him along.
Watching as the other escorted him home, talking about how 'they'd' managed to survive, Krinn brushed a hand through his hair. "I take it I cooked for you, yeah?" He asked with a small smile. He remembered just how grouchy he could get when cooking, especially when Suika tried to help. Or the vague memory of the gold and black haired man - Lan...? - teaching him how to cook in the apartment. Apartment... Krinn glanced up as he was led to the house, the appearance of it threatening to break the barrier in his mind, but not quite. The floorboards creaked softly under his weight as he followed Cada, his eyes trailing over the halls and living room, what seemed to be the opening to the kitchen, what seemed to be memories waiting patiently for him to brush upon. Brushing his fingers over the key given, Krinn turned his eyes to the door that led to his bedroom.
"So, its the same as when I left...?" He questioned distractedly, pushing the key into the hole and unlocking the door. Looking over at Cada, he shook his head, walking into the room. "Its fine, I'd like it if you stayed." Turning his eyes, the rain moved into the room that used to be his own. Inhaling deeply, he closed his eyes, feeling memories tickle the back of his mind in a tease. They were blurry though, far away and muddled. With a soft sigh, he opened them again, hand brushing against the drawer dressed in trinkets and memoirs. A lantern from somewhere far away, a few empty bottles that looked like they'd been washed up from the sea. Letters and old, torn photographs and images. Each of them chipped and picked at the wall in his mind, slowly working away images and scenes.
Suddenly, his fingers grazed an old hairband. The blue and green beads shone in the dim light, and picking it off the drawer, the dust examined them, his eyes flickering. It had been a present, his memories said. Long ago, by the chef who'd taken care of him. He winced a bit as his head pounded, new information and questions pouring in before he had time to breathe. A bathroom, Cada... himself, this house. One by one, the memories filtered in, brief and finicky at first, only solidifying into what he knew and loved in the past once he grabbed and held it tightly. Slipping his fingers through the stretchy material, Krinn let it slide loosely onto his wrist, watching as it glittered. His eyes felt moist, and his head pounded, but at the same time it was so nice!
Grazing the beads again, Krinn sighed and turned his eyes to Cada, holding it for a long moment. Nervously, his feet slid forward, until he was in front of him. Reaching his hands out, he tentatively grazed the others arms before yanking him into a hug, his nose buried into the others shoulder, his cheeks hot red. He vaguely heard himself mumbling I'm sorry over and over again, before his voice caught. "I remember - some of it, most of it - I remember... I'm sorry, Cada for being gone so long." His voice caught again, and he let the other dust go, staring awkwardly at the floorboards. "I missed you - I miss you - and Sable... a-and I'm sorry." He couldn't say it enough. Why had he forgotten? Repressed memories, the doctor had suggested. Or at least, an extreme version if it. But now he was remembering, wasn't he? That was a start.
He prayed that Cada would forgive him. He remembered those days with the other, but they seemed so far away. Just how long was he gone? Long enough. Long enough...
