Welcome to the UnderGround.
It is sometimes referred to as the UG and sometimes as Carmine's gang, no matter what you call it it's the same thing. It is a group, started by Carmine, that suddenly grew in size. The nature of their work is not "good" and never has been and at times it borders on being "evil." Activities range from assisting Carmine with heists to gambling and occasionally darker things. They are still relatively small in size with only six soquili, two birds, one buffalo and an occasional nuisance that disrupts business as often as he helps.

Feel free to poke around to see what the UG is up to, see if you may want to join or oppose them or just participate in some of their business.

Role in the UnderGround: The boss and founder
Personality Blurb: Carmine falls somewhere between being easy going and flat out lazy. She doesn't generally do much work but she is charismatic so the others still follow her for one reason or another. First and foremost she's a thief and tends to put that ahead of any of the "bigger" plans that come forward. She's a sucker for a pretty face and a good time which occasionally interferes with her work.

Personality Blurb:
Lorenna has a calmer nature over all. She tends to be formal in her speech and unforgiving in her actions. This is the lady responsible for there being any semblance of order within the UnderGround. She is the type that thinks bigger and has a plan to back it up. She also hates kalona and while one of them has proven useful she would never trust one for a second.

Personality Blurb: Wolf is typically quiet and isn't the type to say something completely meaningless. Wolf tends to notice things others don't through keen observation skills but isn't always sure what to make of them. She doesn't naturally understand how people work and will sometimes ask questions or say things she shouldn't.

Role in the UnderGround: A Mystery
Personality Blurb:
Beryl is a sneaky sort. She's very intelligent, witty, and manipulative and uses all of those qualities to try to get whatever she wants. She is generally amoral and enjoys extortion, thievery, and intimidation. She is quite aware of her small stature as a flutter and therefore tries to avoid actual physical altercation, unless she has someone around as a back-up. She isn't afraid to lie, cheat, steal, and betray her way to the top. However, she has a soft side for her family and tries to hide her shifty nature from them and present herself much more normally. To the friends that she has "not on the job," she treats likewise.

Role in the UnderGround: Population Control
Personality Blurb: Othelia spent most of her life unwillingly isolated. For this reason she is only now figuring out what sort of things she should and should not do to be a proper kalona. She tends to be judgmental of her own kind and the cross breeds of her kind. If they don't act or look enough like a kalona for her tastes she can become violent. Because Lorenna does what she can to keep kalona far away from their small territory the only kalona stuff she actually knows about is anything picked up from Xelloss or the traces that she remembers from before she was separated from her parents. It isn't much to go on.
For the time being she is no threat to the members of the UG but they are more or less aware that the day may come when she stops listening to them. Until that time Lorenna will continue to order her into taking care of people that owe debts or are just generally irritating.

Personality Blurb: Obnoxious, devious, and fond of playing tricks on people. Xelloss quite enjoys playing innocent and trying to convince others that he is a "nice kalona," only to screw them over once he has taken them in. Occasionally though, he snaps and a truly sadistic monster emerges.

Personality Blurb: Khaa is a victim. He was saved by Carmine only to end up in her service probably for life. He does all the work that no one else wants to and often times ends up with Raven's work load for the day on his plate. He's a good boy and often tries to talk the UG members out of doing bad things but he is either completely ignored or silenced in one way or another. Still, he has no where else to go so he sticks around.

The Laws of the UnderGround

1. Carmine is the Boss. What Carmine says goes. Questions are welcome but at the end of the day you should do what is asked.
2. Uprisings are not tolerated. You'll have a lot of angry members on your hands.
3. This is not a babysitting service. Should your soquili become pregnant they are welcome to stay so long as they take care of their own kids. Expect nosiness from Carmine. -Posted by Lorenna

5. Do not expect constant RP. Think of this as more of a role for your soquili than a plot. We can totally RP but they can be in the UG and still live their own lives.

The Opposing Forces

Carmine's father and half-sister (though as far as the three of them are aware only Dark and Carmine are related). Dark is after the treasure that Carmine stole from him when he left and Clea is more than eager to help.

Racing
The UnderGround has recently come into possession of their own racing course. These grounds are open for everyone to race on whenever they wish, however, the real fun starts when the UG members are around. At times when one or more of the members are present bets will be taken on the racers and prizes will go out to the winner.
((Again, this is all only IC. No actual prizes will be given out and nothing should actually be exchanging hands. Let's not make something fun turn into a train wreck.))

The rules from the UnderGround:
1. Only bet what you have. We do not take payments in credit.
2. Only place bets when bets are called for. Any bets placed before or after this time will be considered donations to help keep the UnderGround running.
3. Do not lose your proof of betting. If you lose your pouch or your rocks your out of luck.
4. Prizes for the winner are non-negotiable. The prizes will be announced ahead of time and are not up for debate. Take it or leave it.
5. Last minute entries are accepted under special circumstances. Should we feel that you should be accepted the races will be delayed until all new bets are taken.
6. Only bet using acceptable items. This includes jewelry, blankets, food stuffs and other such things. (They don't use money, what would a horse do with money?)

How the races work with the UnderGround around:
-The racers will assemble at the track and they will run a practice race for observation.
-Then they will be registered with odds and bets will open.
-Individuals placing bets will each receive a pouch with stones indicating what their bet was worth and for which racer it was for.
-The stones are ordinary and really only mean anything to the members of the UnderGround.
-Once all bets are placed the racers will assemble at the starting line.
-At the signal the races begin at which time things are straightforward. -Run or watch. ((Eventually I'll have an actual course outlined)) (How the races are handled in RP is largely up to the rpers, there is no set way for them to race)
-Once a winner is determined betters should return their pouches for examination.
-Payout will be handled in an orderly fashion.

Food Lending Services
At any point in time the UnderGround will have some food stored up. Most often these are things such as apples or berries collected around the area. These food stores are available to the public, you need only ask, and are perfect for a special day with very special friends or even family.

The rules from the UnderGround:
1. Ask. Do not just take from our stores. There will be consequences.
2. Please replenish our stores. If you borrow some food return at least the same amount.
3. Please do not take more than you will use. Someone else might need it more than you

Item Liberation Services
Is there a special person in your life? Do you think something shiny would look dazzling around their throats? Would they like a blanket to keep them warm when you can't be around? Perhaps you would like items like these for yourself? Well today is your lucky day. The UnderGround is proud to introduce you to their Item Liberation Services. For a fee you may pick your desired object, no matter where it may be, and we will obtain it for you or your loved one.
((This is also IC only. If you want an interesting back story for how your soquili got it's items feel free to use the UnderGround!))

The rules from the UnderGround:
1. Fees are subject to change. Some items are more difficult to obtain than others. Our prices will change to reflect difficulties.
2. We will contact you when we have your item. After requesting an item please wait quietly. Our representatives will locate you when everything is ready not the other way around.
3. Half the payment is due in advance. This is considered to be the payment for the recovery fees. The other half is due at the time of delivery.
4. Recovery fees are non-refundable. Should we fail to get your item you will not be refunded. However you will receive some compensation.
5. We reserve the right to refuse service. For any reason. Period.

Soquili Management Services
This service is only available to our most loyal of patrons.
If someone is harassing, threatening or causing you grief in someway we request that our patrons seek aid from us. We are prepared to deal with a wide range of individuals you need only ask. We have a 100% success rating of getting those annoying individuals to cease their ways.
((IC only. Think carefully before asking for this. I encourage only asking to have NPCs "managed."))

The rules from the UnderGround:
1. We are not skinwalker specialists. I am afraid if you are looking for assistance with a skinwalker you may have to look elsewhere. We would be happy to point you in the right direction for finding help.
2. We take the full fee in advance. There is no way to verify that we have succeeded as you will likely never see the individual again.
3. We require an accurate description. We wouldn't want to be handling someone innocent while the real troublemaker is running around.
4. There are no take backs. Make sure you really want our assistance before asking. We can't undo what is done.
5. You may not "tag along". It is unprofessional and would lead to necessary drama at the time of confrontation.
6. Our methods are trade secrets. Do not ask about them.
7. Do not question any of these policies.
