Well my husband, my daughter, and I were playing the other day and unfortunately she got a bit of rug burn on her back. sweatdrop We were pulling each other around on the floor.

I put some neosporin on her back and she felt better, I've done that everday or twice a day since it happened, but yesterday about 15minutes before her name she came up to me gave me a big hug and grab my hand. She looked at me and said "can we do the prayers?" and I thought she meant her bed time ones and I said "yes, we can do your prayers at nap time" Riley said "No, I want to do prayes right now and pray for my back to get all better" I said "OH! sure honey we'll pray right now" and so I prayed for her back outloud with her and she said "Thank you mommy my back feels all better now!"

She is 3 and 1/2 years old so for her to do that just warms my heart so much! I love when little ones are involved in God and praying and church. And I thought I would just share something light hearted and fun with everyone!

That is adorable.
But it brings to mind an issue that concerns me from time to time
my parents were Christians long before I was born and so I was taught the word of God for all my life. Some times I feel like I was taught to early on; like I was far too young to understand. I Know that one of my sisters, who could be considered a "prodigal child" feels like she was brain washed and is resentful of having been forced into the frame of a christian for the first two decades of her life.
Sometimes I wonder if Christians should refrain from trying to convince children for becoming "saved" before they are.....I don't know, preteens, maybe.
but you are right, it is wonderful that your daughter would ask for your prayer, and it is true that Jesus told us to come to him like children. what better example of that could be found than the simple faith of a young child, being taught the ways of god and sheltered from the ways of the world?
you have something truly beautiful on your hands. thank you for sharing that with us.

It's important for parents to teach their children the principles of whatever religion they believe in. Putting it off until the child is at preteen age wouldn't help them become grounded with a moral center. Sure, we are all free to choose what we want to believe in the end, but as parents, it's our obligation and duty to raise our kids with the principles we see fit.

I completely agree. Also waiting until the child is older they will look back and feel excluded from the whole thing and be resentful that way. Also, I'm going to teach my daughter that Jesus is the only way. She doesn't have to choose that for herself when she is old enough to understand but I hope and pray she will choose Jesus over sin. I will not force feed her my beliefs and make her do things against her will. As long as she is willing I will take her to church and teach her about Jesus' love. Church is her favorite part of her week and reading her daily devotional is something she looks forward to every day. I pray she keeps that love for God but I know it doesn't always work like that for people.

Also if I chose to wait to share the goods news with her that would hold me back in my own walk with the Lord.

~Once upon a time, you could be a bad guy and you'd live to see another day....~

How sweet. ^^ Jesus looks out for them even when they're young, you know. From the moment their born, and it increases after baptism. :3

~....But now you'd never manage, boy you'd be brain-damaged just to think that you could get away~

That is so cute (^_^)
Children are sometimes even more faithful than us, it's amazing, hrreee.

"Train a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not turn from it."
(Proverbs 22:6)

My grandmother has a book of letters from children to God. One of them comes from a little boy saying, "Dear God, we heard that a guy named Thomas Edison created light. But in sunday school we heard you created light so I guess that guy just stole your idea." Children are so innocent and honest. If only everyone could be like that.
