Welcome! I'm making a plot thread (again) in the hopes that I can keep my plans for my Soq on track. They don't all have anything particularly epic planned out for them, but it's nice to have all my ideas in once place where I can get help enacting them if I need it! And for the most part I probably will. XD
Expectations and Warnings
* I can be a fairly slow RPer. I have a job, family, friends, and a horrible gaming addiction that I don't plan to get any help with ever. These things occasionally prove detrimental to my time and inspiration for RPs. I will inform you if I want to quit an RP for some reason, and I would appreciate the same in return. Rest assured that if an RP goes many days in a row with no response it's not because I've forgotten you. Typically every couple of days is about as fast as I go, though, so be prepared. I usually wait to reply until a day when I'm off from work, or if I have a short day, because work makes me tired and not want to think. >.>;
* That said, if you're worried I've dropped off the face of the planet for too long, send me a PM. I check Gaia at least once a day under most circumstances, even if I can't decide on anything to post.
* Unless I've stated that one of my Soq is up for flinging, they're all looking for permanent partners. Or possibly a loyal poly-amorous group. (Don't have any looking for that right now either, though.) I'll have details on mate-seeking status in each Soq's post.
* I don't really go for love-at-first-sight RPs either, my group is mostly too stubborn and/or clueless for that to work. XD
*I enjoy plot-driven, character building RPs. Drama me up, if you want to! Just because I don't have such plots set up for a particular Soq doesn't mean I don't want them in one. Random friend-making RPs are good too, though.
* You may contact me by PM after three days if I don't respond here by then. I can be absent minded sometimes, a good jolt helps! Or a PM. Less electrocution that way. :V |

Background:
Xaivary's never really had a family of her own, and tends to watch others interact from afar. She vaguely remembers having a mother, and a brother, but never a father. From what she was able to piece together her father either never knew, or never cared, that she and her brother existed. Her mother disappeared when she was still very young, though mostly able to feed herself. Her brother went off looking for her and never came back.
The small herd in the area were very suspicious and closed minded about outsiders, and stupidly superstitious, and so felt that since she was old enough to manage without assistance in anything other than protection, but too young to really send off with a clear conscience, Xaivary became something akin to a misbehaving pet that no one really wanted around but didn't want to get rid of, either. When she was a little older she realized that she didn't have to stay there any more than they seemed to want her, and left.
Rather than growing bitter or angry as one might expect, Xaivary remained fairly easy-going and friendly, if... distant. Emotional distress between friends and family are a pretty foreign subject for her, and worries about looks and who's a good catch or other things one might expect a young mare to be concerned with never cross her mind. She's open to conversing and interacting with others to a degree, though she's most comfortable around the innocence of foals. She's even a bit more inclined to approach others for conversation or curiosity's sake after being out in the world and finding that the behavior she grew up around is not necessarily the norm. Still, if there's more than one or two Soquili around, particularly if she's not familiar with one or more of them, she'll probably vacate the area as quickly as possible. She might like watching others interact with each other as friends and family, but when she gets dragged into the middle of it she becomes uncomfortable. It doesn't really feel to her like she belongs there, invited or not.
Xaivary hardly ever seems to take things very seriously, and between a bad case of wanderlust and a penchant for mischief some might label her a trouble-maker. She has a good heart, though, and in spite of any teasing or pranks she would not intentionally bring harm to another. She's not one to pick fights, but she will fight if it's necessary to protect herself or someone else that she wants to protect. And if she's protecting another, she won't back down even in the face of a skinwalker or a kalona.
In short, Xai is loyal to a fault to those who win her over, and a class-clown hiding deep emotional pains behind joker antics and mostly indifferent behavior... even from herself. That all said, she is not uncomfortable with who she is and tries to be.
Her favorite things are running, her trinkets, the sticks of sugar-cane and occassional bit of booze she "borrows" from the Kawani traders, and her handful of good buddies.
Breeding: I am mostly concerned that he be able to put up with her quirky humor, love of wandering, and penchant for good natured mischief. No one evil. She may or may not play around with a stallion offering some equally playful flirting in her direction, but she rarely takes anyone flirting with her at all seriously; if they're only after a night-time romp they will be shot down, probably quite rudely. And she's not going to change her ways or try to pretty herself up just to impress someone; you can take her as she is or you can go blow smoke at someone else.
She would not take a fling well, even if the stallion were prepared to help raise the foals before leaving. Her own family, or lack there-of, and seeing what similar situations have done to others have made this the one area in particular that she really is touchy about. If a stallion were to pull a love and leave on her, she would hunt him down and kick his tail five ways from Sunday.
Plots:
Friend Finder: I would like Xaivary to have a couple of "buddies" to hang around with from time to time. While she has a couple already, they are either stationary or preoccupied with love interests/family... or both. Being the wanderer that she is, it simply isn't in her to stay in one area for more than a few weeks, or perhaps a couple of months. That and for those with love interests or family matters to deal with... well she feels a bit awkward and intrusive there, though she's not likely to admit it, or perhaps even recognize the fact for herself. So I'd like some more people she can drop in on in her travels. X3
You need... help?: I want Xaivary to meet someone in distress! Male or female doesn't matter. What this Soquili is distressed over, however, should not necessarily be something that's actually direly important. Something that's not direly important would actually be preferable, because Xaivary likes helping people, you see... but to see someone distressed over something that's not actually causing any real harm to anyone would throw her for a loop and stretch her limited emotional understanding to its limits. Will she be able to go past those limits, or will the other Soq manage instead to actually drive her up the wall? XD Got one with Sakura (Phail Ninja)
I like kids.: Not because she has any grand ideas of motherhood, but more because personality wise she just tends to get on with them more. Playful mischief, not really taking things seriously, not having them look at her cross-eyed just because she's an unusually dressed stranger... well, most foals probably would do that, but out of curiosity rather than distrust. I'd like her to encounter one or more foals. A lost child, or maybe one that's just snuck away from the parental units for a while looking for an adventure. She'd make sure they got safely back to their parents... you know, at some point. They'd probably get themselves in trouble first though. XD
Well you're just a jerk aren't you?: I want to see how she reacts to a mean-spirited Soquili, one that likes to play mind games with others and/or is just in general a bully. Can they pick away at her nonchalance and reach the uncertainties beneath, or will she figure them out and shrug it off before they can do any real damage? I may actually be up for a couple of these, if the situations are different enough to warrant it. If the RP turns out with them having a bit of a scuffle that's also fine.
Girl Time: What happens when unkempt Xaivary meets a dainty girl who is quite convinced that keeping your looks flawless is of utmost importance? One that will take it upon herself to pretty up my shaggy little punk, in spite of assurances that it isn't necessary, or perhaps because of Xaivary's rather obstinate disregard for the matter? If you have a girl that would fit that role, please, lets do find out. X3
Shining Knight: I would like Xaivary to meet a proper, gentlemanly knight. Just so she can completely go against anything generally taught about mares being ladylike, and most social conventions in general. This will either result in an odd friendship or one very annoyed stallion. |

Siblings: Puchi Puri, Chetan, Kodah, Atreiu, Nalani

Children: None.
Background: One of two boys from Althalus and Nivriti's second breeding, Kush is both energetic and quiet in turns. When encountering something new, be it a person, place, or thing, he will investigate it thoroughly and usually with enthusiasm. Once he is satisfied he will fall back a bit, so to speak, and continue to watch more quietly. He enjoys physical activity, but he is not particularly competitive, and he engages in more scholarly and philosophical pursuits as an occasional hobby.
Kush will engage in conversation most of the time if it seems appropriate, but he is just as happy to sit back and allow others to talk around him. He doesn't always have a lot to say, but he tries to find things worth speaking of when he does say something. (Not that it always works out. XD) He does tend to be his own version of a chatterbox when on his own with one or two others, but when he is with his brother (which is often) he will usually allow Atraiu to do most of the conversing when they meet others.
He is fairly close to his family, particularly his brother Atraiu, who tends to be even more talkative. Kush seems more than content to let his brother take the spotlight as long as he is not ignored when he feels the need to interject himself. As family oriented as he is, Kushanu prefers to hang around the people he knows, even if he's only in the background watching them.
Just about the only times you'll see him on his own is in transit between friends or family groups, or when he's out "adventure scouting" for his brother. The two are determined to take part in an epic adventure some day... as soon as they find one, hence the splitting up to scout for trouble to get into. Not that Kush would claim it was trouble he was looking for, but with a hobby like that it's bound to happen.

Name: Aduial ("ah-dwee-ahl" Tolkien elvish for "evening") a.k.a. "Wiggles" (blame Cajmera!)

Background: The first thing one will notice when interacting with Aduial is her rather vibrant personality... and rather obvious lack of vocalizations. Due to an infection when she was a foal her vocal chords were damaged, and while it left no outward sign it all but ruined her voice. When she does speak it is barely above a whisper, and that's if she's trying. It's also a rather harsh sound, especially compared to how it was before. She loved to sing once, but now she pretty much hates her voice and since no one can hear her anyway... she just avoids using it.
Kind hearted and a bit naive in her idealism that Everyone Has Some Good and all she has to do is try hard enough to get them to show it, she's actually been hurt rather badly by those she trusted in the past. In the end it led to her separation from her family herd and subsequent journey to find a new place to call home... as well as a second chance. Or at least, she convinced herself she was the one who needed a second chance, rather than the one owed an apology...
Her past has left her an emotional and mental wreck, and unwilling to rely on anyone enough to tell them about it, much less get the help she doesn't realize she needs. All because she feels like she's secretly a horrible, horrible person and she doesn't want to subject anyone she'd be willing to call a friend to having to deal with her "dubious" behavior.
Quote: Her mother died shortly after giving birth to her, and her father lost his emotional footing after that. Being somewhat important in hierarchy of the herd, but lacking any other real support and having to try and raise a newborn son and daughter on top of it, the stress of it all eventually cracked him mentally. It was downhill in the hierarchy, and personal regard, of the herd at that point. Her brother (don't know if I'll try to custom him or recruit someone to play him in the future...) was a calculating and ambitious little thing much like their father had once been, but the circumstances of his life and being forced to look after his sister and a very broken father at such a young age made him bitter... and ruthless. Due to their mother's unicorn blood, Aduial was the only one with the healing horn in the herd of winds and considered something of a prize for future marriage arrangements, and she was easily under his power because of their familial bond. He slowly used this to eventually twist her mind to his will to the point that if he'd told her up was actually down, she'd probably have believed him. And through taking responsibility for her and eventually assuming his father's abandoned role in the herd council her brother slowly rose in power. But the herd Alpha was getting old, and a bit feeble, and had yet to name an Heir... and he wanted that. A conspirator from a nearby herd decided to help him ruin Aduial's arranged marriage with the smaller herd's Heir and use the opportunity to assert themselves as the new candidates for the futures of both by "repairing" the peace afterward. They recruited a wandering stallion of questionable morals, had him convince Aduial that he was a visiting dignitary from a distant herd and to keep him company for the day while they arranged a proper arrival for him, which her brother neither confirmed or denied in artful fashion, in a manner that made her uncertain whether to doubt or believe the stallion but kept her willing to try and do whatever she needed to to keep him happy until her brother came back for her. When he eventually asked for sex, Aduial's confusion over the situation but absolute belief in her brother led her to almost go through with it... just in time for her brother to show up with some of the herd elders. She was humiliated and berated, particularly by her brother, for being so "promiscuous" with a herdless stranger. He gained favor in their eyes, and basically control over what little freedom his "reckless" sister had. He underestimated her emotional distress and the response his years of mental conditioning would lead her to, however; never would she have left his side again, except that she was utterly convinced that he hated her now and that she'd done irreparable damage to his reputation, which was of course more important than her in every way. She fled, thinking herself horrible and no longer worthy, hoping that she might either find some way to redeem herself eventually, or find an appropriately horrible doom to punish her.
Breeding:
She has some issues to work through before I can really figure out where she's going in that regard.
Plots:
A good portion of Aduial's plots are going to be based around the events that occur during her participation in the Primal Instincts plotline. Some before, some during, and more afterward.
Before her first role in the Primal Instincts plotline...
Aduial stumbles across the Kawani Province, making a couple of acquaintances before reaching the coastline and realizing she can't feasibly run any farther from her old life than she already has. Using what information she has managed to gather, she attempts to find a place to live away from highly populated areas where she would encounter more people, and probably more questions. Things quickly become complicated upon a chance encounter with Soul-Lexis, a kalona that for some reason reminds her strongly of her brother. Being little more than an abused slave is an easy life to slip back into for one who never realized what was wrong with it in the first place...
Introduction to Kawani: Part of this is already being taken care of by Cajmera's mare Saiena, but I believe Aduial will need a little more information about the area when that's over. Therefore this is tentatively open for one or two more initial meetings before her timeline hits the events with Soul.
A Willing Slave: This basically revolves around her service to Soul-Lexis. I doubt that anything sexual will occur, but Aduial will willingly let him bite her, follow or stay at his command, and run likely nonsensical errands for him. There will be some encounters with others in this time, possibly with some she's met before, who will notice the marked change in her behavior from previously and perhaps even half-healed bite wounds. She will refuse to divulge any information (being essentially mute helps with that), nor allow anyone to try and help her. If Soul's owner agrees to bring him in on any of these encounters, she will also interfere with anyone trying to harm him in order to save her, as she really does not feel like she needs rescuing at this point.
After the attack by the skinwalker...
I'm planning for her to meet Kaiya, the Angeni of Redemption, and for her to start figuring out that she was the one wronged in the past and that life isn't supposed to be the way she thought. It's going to be a long and difficult process for her, and something she will struggle with off and on for a long time... probably even beyond the point of this plotline that I've worked out so far. Anyway, Soul isn't keen on having his pet just up and disappear, so he'll wind up finding her... and she'll have to find the strength to stop submitting.
A Better Healer: Aduial is half Unicorn, but as her mother died shortly after she was born and everyone else in her herd were wind Soquili, she never had anyone to guide her in learning how to use her own healing powers. This ability, while diminished because of her mixed blood, could still be improved drastically if someone were willing to give her the guidance she never had when she was young. (This training may wind up being interrupted when she proceeds to her second role in Primal Instincts and joining the Exalted March.)
To Guard Myself: While past the ideal age to begin proper combat training, Aduial will eventually decide that she wants to learn how to defend herself. Fortunately she at least doesn't have any bad training to undo in this area, and she is more than stubborn enough to see it through. She will probably tend to push herself too hard here, though, due to her past issues and slipping back and forth between a desire to do whatever is needed to please her authority figure, and trying to prove to herself that she's strong enough not to need to do that anymore. (This training may wind up being interrupted when she proceeds to her second role in Primal Instincts and joining the Exalted March.)
This is what love really looks like...?: No, it's not a romance plot. What this is about is her being introduced, even peripherally, to an actual loving family bond. Where family looks out for one another and no one tries to rule one another. It doesn't necessarily need to be an idyllic family, having a bit of dysfunction might even help her realize that mistakes just happen... but family that cares will forgive you and try to help you when you need it, rather than condemn you. (You know, barring an intentional horrible betrayal like trying to kill them or something.)
I may add some more in here if I think of anything.
After the Exalted March...
Aside from finishing up any training and trying to bring some closure to the parts of her past she's trying to leave behind, I'm not sure what to do here yet. I think she might wind up joining the Holy Order, but nothing after this point is really set until I after I see how everything else plays out to this point. |
