Danzo, a lot of people suspected him but since they fought each other that is a no.

Obito, some people still think it could be but the evidence is there. Tobi fought against Minato, at this time it is known that Iruka sensie was still a kid and there isn't much difference in age between him and Kakashi. So it can't be him as Tobi wasn't young.

He said he was Madara but... yeah.

Now for the facts. His revealed face shows age close to Danzo, meaning he is old which fits in with the fact he faced Minato and manipulated the Mizukage. But the fact that his removed arm (gif image) has a white blob on the end suggests he is a form of Zetsu copy. It is a mystery wrapped in an enigma...

Maybe but the fact is there is so little information to work on. It's all speculation and theory. I know we all want to know who he is but we have to wait till Kabuto stops having his gay back story. evil

Madara's brother is an option, seeing as there was no reason for him to go and die just cause his eyes were removed, plus he could have taken them back when Madara died. He also must have found some way to use or simulate Mokuton in order to make Zetsu. In fact, he could be much older than he looks if he was a Senju, or at least absorbed a Senju's life force. Madara seems to have been there at the time of the eye transfer between Izuna(Madara's brother) and Madara, since he knew Izuna gave them up willingly. He also must have been someone close by to Madara's last stand againt the First Hokage.

Also, I've always wondered, why couldn't they just trade eyes, like you get mine, I get yours?

I'd love it if he was Hashirama (there are a few ways it could be possible: for example, he somehow knew about the weakness of the Kyuubi during pregnancy, possibly because his wife Mito almost lost the Kyuubi during her childbirth), but I know that's most likely not possible.
