If you have a able bodied Soquili looking to live for a greater purpose, a youngster with nothing better to do with their time, a handsome stallion looking to impress the ladies, or just another Soquili who wants to kick some skinwalker a**; You've come to the right place.
The Hunters do not discriminate between mares nor stallions. They expect to get the best that they can from each, and will assist them in becoming as physically and emotionally fit as they may ever be. Their purpose is righteous, and they want no less than everything from each new recruit.

At this stage, it isn't ready to become a herd yet. For the moment, think of it more as a School/Training area for potential Skinwalker hunters to learn what they would need to survive and prevail in hunting and fighting a skinwalker.

Roleplay Rules:
1. This isn't necessarily a Rp oriented herd, but it can be if you want it to. The members and Soquili in it make it what it is. That said, you are not required to Roleplay if you join the herd! You're free to use it as a backstory for your soquili, if you please.

2. There will likely be quite a few group Rps within the herd, that you are free to take part in. However life does happen, and if you're unable to respond within a timely manner, you might be skipped over, or dropped from that single Rp. However your soquili will still move on in the plot if it is ready and be able to enter again in the next rp.

3.Fighting and Sparring will be taken on a random number / dice roll, to be fair and enrich brighter outcomes. This is also used to prevent any major god-modding within the Rps.

4. You have to have another owner's permission to wound/kill/etc their Soquili.
--
Within the final test, there will be two steps. Rolling and Roleplaying. The fight itself will take place in the OOC rp thread, where you will be allowed to play a NPC in a fight. When the fight is over, we will move back to the IC roleplay form, and can RP the beginning and end of the fight, implying what happened during said event. (Roleplaying NPCs ICly is very limited and rarely allowed. Which is why we must do it this way!) In the beginning, it'll feature your Soquili tracking the beast it is set out to find, and the aftermath your soquili taking it's trophy from the left over carcass.

Benefits of being in the herd:
1. Roleplay opportunities to help raise stats and obtain some pretty awesome plots along the way. It'll be a good step in your Soquili's life, or provide them with an occupation. It might even look good on an Elder Application!
2. It'll give your Soquili a pretty Badass backstory. Who can argue with that?

A schedule your Soquili will be on once enlisting in the herd as a recruit:

Initiation: Your Soquili as well as the other recruits will be introduced to their mentors, who will be living and training with them over the time which they will be taught and disaplined in multiple courses. During this time they will be educated on what's expected of them, what their purpose will be, and what lies in store for them after they complete their training. Stories will likely be told by the protectors at this time of the great hunts that had been made already by some of the mentors themselves. It's a bonding time for the new members to get to know one another. (1 Rp for every 5 or so recruits depending on how much attention this gains)

Physical Training: Your Soquili will be expected to get into shape. Were they always the fastest back when they were with their families or wandering the Kawanii lands? Too bad. They're still not good enough compared to the more elite members of the School. Every morning the new members will be waking up early, and immediately out of bed, be led on a 10 mile run with their Mentor. Afterwards, they'll be let off to the grazing grounds to get a quick breakfast. After a meal, they'll be taken to a small stretch of land not too far away from there, where hurdles are set up. They'll practice jumping, and learn how to jump higher and further than they ever could before. Of course, this will take some time. This will complete their day, and afterwards they'll be given some free rein of the grazing/hobby ground where they can get to further make friends and learn more smaller skills that may come in handy when they become official members. (1 Rp for the same group of recruits. Same mentor as well)

Sparring: After their mentor has deemed his or her group physically fit, they will each learn how to spar and fight when in a battle with a skinwalker, kalona, or any other predator. This means that they will learn how to use anything given to them in birth, and possibly with the chance of learning how to fight with knives or other weapons if need be. Each mentor may have a different way of teaching how to spar, but most will set up recruits against one another and walk around watching them as they fight. As soon as any blood appears, or submission made, a winner will be chosen by the mentor. At the end of the session, the losers will face the mentor one on one in each battle to learn how to better defend and fight. (These will likely be done through rolling/etc so it will be fair) (1 Rp for the same group of recruits. Same mentor as well)

Hunting: During this part of training, the recruits will be taken out together, and will learn how to track different mammals and predators by Spoor. (Spoor may include tracks, scat, feathers, kills, scratching posts, trails, drag marks, sounds, scents, marking posts, the behavior of other animals, habitat cues, and any other clues about the identity and whereabouts of the quarry) After a few days of learning how to look for signs, the mentor will team up groups of two recruits and they will be given the task of bringing back a certain kind of animal. (This might be a smaller predator, or just something simple like a deer). During this, they may use the skills that they have learned in the various skill labs that are offered around the learning grounds. (See skills for more information) (1 or 2 Rps for the same group of recruits. Same mentor will be watching over them)

Final: Everything has lead to this one test. One on one, each recruit will be taken on a hunt with their mentor to find and kill a real predator. The mentor is only there to act as back up in case the recruit is over powered and unable to defeat the beast. If the kill is successful, the recruit will be allowed to take it's trophy from the kill's body, and with it, return to the herd as a full fledged member. If it's a fail, the mentor will step in and finish the kill themselves. If need be, they'll drag back your soquili to the herd, and they'll be sent back into further training until they will be given the test again. (1 Rp. Mentor and 1 Soquili. Actual fighting will be done in the oocly rp thread, but before and after in the ic thread if Npcs are used.)

???: After their final test, your soquili will be free to do as they please. Hunt down predators, stay and train new recruits, it's all up to you. Eventually as the herd grows, the leader will allow families of the Hunters to move into the lands, to stay protected.

Skills Labs.

In this area of the herd, you will find various activities and classes in which your recruit can learn skills to assist them in everyday life, as well as furthering their hunting abilities.

Trapping: While some hunters prefer taking on skinwalkers head on, others would rather plan ahead and take a 'safer' more distanced approach. During these activities, they will learn various trapping techniques. This includes, but is not limited to, setting up snares, where to position and set up Claw Trap. As well as, learning what types of bait may be necessary for different types of prey, and catching prey to use as bait.

Familiar/Companions: To those who take interest in it, The Hunters would like to help their recruits find Familiar partners to assist them in their hunts. Some of the familiars offered here are trained in hunting by the pen keepers. Others will be available for your recruit to train it themselves.
(If you are interested in a backstory for your familiar, this could be the way your soquili met them/etc. It's an option and reason for a good Rp. Roleplay involving the Pen keeper will likely be available later on.)

Herbology: A mentor here will be teaching the recruits various nature survival skills. Including which plants could be used to eat, make poisons, herbal remedies and medicines, etc. Including where to find them. A side lesson of gardening is included in this activity, though recruits can pass on it.

:Alpha/Headmaster:
Garrick.
User Image
(He really does not want to be here right now. He holds the position until his twin's find someone worthy and strong enough to take his place, or until either of them decide to settle down. He was a self taught hunter and the inspiration his twins used to start up a group such as this one. He isn't very strict but you can still expect him to have high standards of those who join. He very rarely mentors, but checks up on the recruits and mentors daily. This position garners much respect. Mentors report to him, and he advises them back.)

Garrus and Anthinati were the founders of the school/herd, but neither stick around long enough to have a solid teaching or protecting position. (For now)
Which means, that they will be looking for mentors to take up responsibility for teaching the recruits while they are away! For now, all positions will be open. Currently they are looking for:

-Mentors:
For Group training. This is considered the most important position in the herd. They teach the future members almost everything that they need to know. It's a position of great responsibility. Their families are welcome to live within the herd grounds, so they may see them when they are not with their recruits.
-A Herbologist Teacher
-A Familiar Keeper.
-Traps and bait Expert.
-Recruits!
(You can suggest positions that your soquili might be able to offer towards the herd.)

The Herd takes in any gender and breed of Soquili. They don't care about their pasts as long as they are willing to serve their cause and not let any outside influences in while training.

There is no set personality or type of Soquili who is accepted into the herd, as long as they don't have great homicidal tenancies (Unless it's controlled and only focused towards Walkers...)

There isn't a set appearance, or anything for herd members, though apart of becoming a real hunter, includes keeping a trophy from their first kill. This can be anywhere from a fanged necklace to a whole pelt. It's said that the greater and bigger the trophies, the better the hunter... But this isn't always true.

The Herd will be open to any Soquili and options to custom in a Soquili if you're interested enough. I could help you come up with a concept or appearance for the soquili, if you would like. :3 For those interested in what one might look like, I will post Garrus and Anthinati's forms and concepts here for you to check out.

History/Future/etc: I plan on having them start a group, (Hesitant to calling it a herd, as there would be many coming and going. It would be run more like a boot camp and meeting ground than an actual home, at the start. New members would be put through heavy training and then tossed out into the wild with only a meantor to help them through their first skinwalker hunt. After the new member's first kill, they take a part of the skinwalker's pelt home with them, to use as a trophy and start of a potential disguise. ) which their sole focus would be skinwalker hunting and killing. They both took on their father's life goal, of helping to rid the world of the foul beasts, only brought it a step further by organizing the idea. They're rougher, tougher, and more likely to go to distances Garrick wouldn't have gone to get the job done. They enjoy it like a hobby, but take it seriously when in front of other group members. They teach recruits whenever they're not out hunting. The only time they ever split up while during a hunt, is when one or both take out a member with more potential to watch as they hunt a walker and take it down. They're well respected for the job they do, and typically demand it from whoever they run into. Niether take kind to cannibalistic kalona's, but unless provoced, don't take action against them.

Both Garrus and Anthinati disguise themselves as skinwalkers to throw them off a beat. Now, a skinwalker wouldn't let it's guard down around another walker (Especially when theres two of them), but it'd hesitate to attack more than it would towards a couple of regular unicorn. They use their large animal companions as a mock feral form, usually watching and speaking from shrubbery as their counterparts have fun with the hunt as well. They're also there to assist with the cleaning up of the bodies, as meat eaters, have to eat as well; the twins just make sure that no innocents are killed by their large cats so they were trained to only eat what they kill for them, or give permission to kill.
Typically after a kill, Garrus would take his skinning knife, and skin off a part of the walker's pelt, (Or on the rare occasion of a good fight or unique pelt type, maybe the whole pelt) as a trophy, or example of prowess for the new recruits at home to awe about.
To keep things exciting, they both learned how to trap and had indian clients craft weapons to help them. Anthinati carries around a bear trap, something that she might hide around a expected to be battle ground or under brush where they lure a walker to. They use Garrus' rabbit as bait for the claw trap, leaving the bunny tied to a twig right behind the trap.
If it seems like the prey walker is going to miss the trap, and still the the rabbit, they'd usually come out of hiding and spring a plan B on the walker instead. They learned early from this, as their first bunny companion died when they were too late for the save. This second one has lasted much longer, and they don't intend on letting it die. Garrus usually carries it around on his back or head for longer trips.

They both have many scars from their hunts, and have sustained numerous injuries. They do not "Godmode" during their fights, but the advantage of having them both taking on one skinwalker helps with taking it down. Besides beating on it with their hooves, or taking their knives to it, they use their fangs (Passed down through genetics from their grandfather), and horns to injure the beasts.
It's not out of the ordinary for them to track a skinwalker who's also on the hunt. They've saved whole families from slaughter before, though usually just the random traveler. After they save them, they insist that they spread the word of the group and where they can find them. They're always looking for couragous recruits willing to do something more with their lives then to just "settle down and reproduce". Not to say that their members can't have families. For the start of the herd, the families wouldn't be allowed in. They'd be kept where ever the father/brother/sister/mother decided to leave them to stay. However I plan on having one of the families be attacked after a skinwalker escaped death. This would lead to Garrus and Anthinati to changing their plans and grounds to allow families to stay with the members of the hunters. This would eventually lead towards it becoming an actual herd. Niether twin would want to take the positiion of alpha, and would likely look for an older experienced Soquili for the job. They would both likely serve as protectors.
