Two young vampires meet at a party. Both are so new as vampires that they still appear human. They mistake each other for humans and begin an awkward courtship, each one in truth just wanting to drink the other's blood.

What kind of powers should our vampires have? I'm thinking: - keener senses than humans - supernatural speed and strength - ability to levitate and their weaknesses: - very sensitive to sunlight, need to cover their eyes with dark glasses - silver burns them - a stake through the heart kills them These okay for you?

[ Yeah! That's no problem!! Sorry for being so late. You can start off. ] Appearance: Name: Lenore “Lenny” Walker Age: Twenty two Since Being Bitten: One month Currently: A struggling music major who works random gigs Biography: Lenore had terrible childhood friends who ran around bullying those who they felt threatened by. She was a cute kid who had recently moved from the big city to a small town due to her parents’ divorce. So, Lenore foolishly traded her femininity for these friends. She submitted to conformity willingly in order to fit in. In her second year of high school, her mother passed away. She had to move back with her father to the city. Lenore dumped her horrible friends, completely forgetting them, and left. However, her personality remained the same and she graduated high school with the same indifferent, boyish attitude. She entered college with not much ambition or any aspirations; she is still trying to decide what she wants to be in life. She lives by herself in an apartment now, visiting her father every so often to make sure he is still alive. On her twenty-second birthday, she went to a bar to celebrate by herself. A guy started to flirt with her and drugged her. By the time she was conscious, the guy had bitten her, turning her into a vampire and dumped her in the streets. Since then, Lenore has been trying to make sense of her predicament and is trying to cope with it.

[I like your character heart ] Adam was at a party. He was drinking water from a vodka glass. It wasn't that he was an absolutist or anything, just that after turning vampire normal foods and drinks no longer tasted good to him. Alcohol had no effect on him anymore, so he preferred not to waste it. He looked around the room. It was the normal crowd of young adults, celebrating yet another weekend. He knew some people here, but was for the time being avoiding them. He did not want them to notice the changes in him. No, what he was looking for was a meal, the only meal that mattered nowadays, the drink from living veins.

[ I like yours as well! cat_4laugh ] These types of things no longer amused Lenore like they used to. Within a month of being bitten, she had lost interest in a majority of human activities, such as the day-time, eating, and drinking. They were meaningless in her life now; Lenore would've surely left right now if she could. However, she decided it'd be best to at least pretend to be somewhat human, after all, she could not give up everything and disappear from society.
She sat in a lonely corner in the party, drinking nothing. She had learned by now that drinking and eating gave her no delight. She had to throw most of it back up anyways. Also, after being drugged, she refused to drink anything anyone offered her. The only satisfaction that she could really find was blood. The screen of her phone illuminated her face, preoccupied more with what she was reading than the belligerent drunks or the thumping music. She had read countless articles and research about vampirism and their lore. She deducted the majority of it was either fandom or utter bullshit. It was definitely difficult to see what was true or not. She figured out that sun light bothered her greatly, and that she seemed healthier and stronger than she did. But things like a stake through the heart was hard to test without knowing for sure if she would live.
She closed the browser with a listless sigh, noticing her dad left her two voicemails. She hadn't called him in a few weeks, mainly because she felt weird talking to her dad. She didn't want him to notice that she was different; that she was this monster.
Alas, she looked up, her dark eyes gazing about the youthful crowd. She recognized familiar faces, who avoided eye contact with her. She was glad she didn't have to deal with a lot of friends, because she didn't have many friends in the first place. It didn't matter to her. Now, whether friend or foe, they were all the same: a meal. Her appetite was calling, and Lenore felt the hunger within her. She glanced about, searching for a healthy candidate, before her eyes caught his.
They were captivating, twinkling in the dim-litted room. Lenore stared at him, watching as he too looked about the room, a vodka glass in his hands. She gave almost no hesitation in deciding that he was who she wanted tonight.

[Thanks! blaugh ] Adam drank slowly, the way one would when drinking a real vodka. He didn't want to draw attention to his new dislike of alcohol, so he disguised water as a potent drink. He had not yet noticed Lenore, instead, he was looking at another girl, a very drunken one, who seemed to be having a lot of fun dancing by herself in the middle of the room. If nothing better turned up, he might try his luck with her - she was nothing special in his eyes, but blood was blood, and easier obtained from a drunk person who might not remember anything the next day.

Lenore watched Adam, having great patience in this matter. It was like a big cat studying her prey; Lenore was very careful. Similar to his reasoning, Lenore assumed he had enough drinks to not remember tonight. She waited, though his attention seemed to be on someone else. She glanced to where is gaze landed, and was a bit confused. The girl was average, a little dumb looking and obviously drunk. She frowned a little. What did this girl have that captivated him? She watched as Adam looked at the girl. Was he looking for a one-nighter? Lenore gave a small sigh to herself. While she was a little disappointed, she guessed it made it a little easier. Maybe she could get him to a secluded and quiet spot willingly. Lenore licked her lips, a little nervous. Despite being a vampire for a month, she was still a little new to the hunt. The only thing that drove her to do it was her hunger and her drive to survive.
After a minute, she closed her eyes, and gave a big, motivational breath. "Lenny, just like last time," she thought. She had done this before, but every time made her so anxious. She could remember the first time, a couple days after being bitten. She had been so desperate and hungry for blood as a newborn; she made a mess of the man she had bitten. She had to knock him out after he screamed too much, and made it look like he had been drugged by leaving Rohypnol in the hotel room.
With a small nod, she moved smoothly across the room, making sure Adam didn't notice her approach until she bumped into him, making him spill his drink. "Ah, sorry," she murmured in an innocent tone. Her heart raced, and her mind couldn't help but chastise herself. She was so not like this. She would never hit on a man, nonetheless hit on a man like this. But she convinced herself, again, that it was necessary to play a clueless woman in order to attract men. At least now she could look at him better. He smelled faintly of a pleasant aroma, one that Lenore could now pick up with her vampiric senses. He was dashing, most definitely the best looking one Lenore had ever attempted to bite. She second guessed herself in choosing him; maybe she should've chosen a drunker, uglier one.

Adam swore aloud when the woman spilled his drink. But he calmed down quickly when he had a better look at her. She was beautiful, and smelled nice and clean. She wasn't drunk, and there was something about her that made her different from most people in the room. "Don't worry about it. Better for me not to drink too much." He held out his hand for her to shake. "My name is Adam. And you are...?" He had decided already, quite irrationally, that this was the victim he would choose to feed from tonight. It'd be a night to remember.

Lenore did her best to put on a face of a woman. She was never too feminine, so appealing to guys was a tad foreign. She moved her dark hair, looking up at Adam slightly with her dark eyes. He seemed friendly, a genuine guy. Even though he was checking out that dancing drunk girl, she assumed he wasn't a total a*****e. She gave a small, slight smile, before shaking her head. Maybe he wasn't as drunk as she thought he was. While he was a handsome thing, she didn't think she could drink from him easily. And despite really just wanting to stay with him, feeding tonight was far more important. She felt a little dumb then, a tad embarrassed for purposely making him spill his drink, but she guessed she'd just have to find another bar.
"Umm," she hesitated, shaking her hand as if to negate his hand shake. "Sorry, I have a boyfriend. And, umm, I really have to go," she lied, almost awkwardly, and gave a small sigh before turning. She mentally cursed herself for lying twice. She guessed it was because she was so nervous that she felt the need to scramble up two lies instead of leaving one short and simple one. She sighed quietly again, Lenore's next thought was to just forget him, so she wouldn't feel so bad for herself, and looked for the exit. Lenore motioned good bye, despite not wanting to say good bye, and moved for the exit.

Adam was surprised at how suddenly the girl wanted to be away from him. A boyfriend? Of course, someone like her was far too good to be single. He didn't object to her leaving, but as soon as she had turned her back to him, he followed her, silently as only a vampire could, though the noise of the party would have drowned any sound anyways. Already he was making plans on how to stalk the girl, where to confront her. After seeing her, no one else's blood seemed good enough.

Lenore walked up the steps to the outside, feeling the chill splash her face. She closed her eyes, cursing silently to herself before opening them. "Damn," she murmured, before pulling her coat tighter around herself. She checked her cell phone. Another missed call from her father. She clicked her tongue with a soft, "tsk," and followed the sidewalk.
She wondered where she could find another bar. She was hungry, and her throat burned a little. Lenore made a left. There was a pub on 23rd. Maybe she could pick up a drunk there. She kept her head down, her eyes to the floor as she looked up at the night sky. It was a pretty sight. Yet, she was reminded of that guy...Adam. He was handsome; Lenore blushed a little to herself. She combed out her slightly crooked bangs nervously as she thought, making a bitter face. She was sure she would never see him again.
Her pace quickened when she neared 23rd, and made another left. The pub was dim-litted, warm, and thrived on its regulars. Lenore had only been there a couple times, and she knew it would be a little risky going there. But she was starving, and entered the pub, sitting at the counter. She ordered a Guinness, despite not intending to drink. She took off her jacket, and propped her elbow on the counter. She laid her cheek there, watching the bartender pour it from the tap and slide it to her. Lenore watched the frothy top, the dark liquid glittering with flavor. She dismissed it for now, noticing an older man, probably a white-collar man eye her from a little ways down the counter. Lenore wasn't as interested in him as much as she did Adam, but she would have to do with him.

Adam followed Lenore all the way to the pub. He waited a few minutes after she had entered, and then walked into the establishment. Instead of going to the counter to order a drink, where he saw Lenore, he sat down at a corner booth where someone had left a pint half-full of beer, ready to pretend it was his drink if anyone asked. He observed an older man watching Lenore, and wondered how she would react. It surprised him, but he felt if the man gave her any trouble, Adam would step in to defend her.

Lenore gave him a glance, noticing he was indeed looking at her. She looked away, a little bummed, but whatever, she was hungry. She took a small sip of her beer, and looked up at the guy. She let her gaze linger, as if trying to alluring him. He got up after a minute and sat next to her, looking her up and down. She failed to notice the door of the pub open and Adam seating himself in the back. Instead, she put her efforts in making small talk, offering a faux smile to the guy.
He looked like a guy who stressed a lot about his work. He came to the pub once a week to cool off, to find some relief. "Poor chap," she thought. He only wanted to succeed in life, find a wife, and settle down. Lenore listened, offering her gentle input. It was too bad that she wasn't what he was looking for. He put his hand on her thigh unexpectedly, blushing as he did. Lenore gave a sheepish look before removing his hand.
He replaced his hand, talking to her quietly in desperation. Lenore didn't want to make much of a scene, but she was getting a little uncomfortable.

Adam watched Lenore approach the older man. Hadn't she said she had a boyfriend? Maybe that had been a lie. So did she prefer older men, then? It was hard to believe something like that of her. She'd seemed far too sensible. When Adam saw the man touch Lenore, and Lenore's attempt at resisting, he stood up and walked over to them. "Excuse me, miss, is this man bothering you?" He asked in a polite tone.
