The Story

Originally they were the "Mall'wari" troupe, but then, in generations prior, The Virus first struck. As it spread a barrier lined with flaming torches was set up, creating a wall of fire to quarantine those who were struck with the strange symptoms. As other members of the tribe fell victim to the hysteria as it wormed its way through their system, more were sent behind the wall.

Decades, even centuries past, until the Mall'wari were lost the remaining packets left untouched exporting themselves from the land to find new places to Start.

Without external members to keep the Firewall Updated, it eventually grew obsolete and fell.. Those within emerged, forever changed with the memory of their history corrupted by the Virus, as the Malware troupe.

About the Troupe

Tanganyika laughter epidemic. The Dancing mania of 1518.. Yawning. Sometimes afflictions of the mind can pass and spread without a known cause.

No one knows how what the Malware call "The Virus" got into their systems, but the mass psychogenic illness spread after only one member of the herd started acting sporadically.. At first nothing was thought of it, but when others around them started developing strange behaviors it became 'obvious' that it was contagious.

That fear drove the 'infection rate' into over drive as frightened minds began to provide symptoms and amplify them. More and more members of the herd were quarantined. And even if some stopped afterwards, they were not allowed to leave for fear of spreading it. Eventually, it became the norm within the barrier, the fires stoked by the 'Anti-Virus' beyond. Those within the firewall came to accept The Virus as part of their lives..



Data Packets..
The troupe has Many Packets (See definition below) within their territory. While Wolves seem to be the most plentiful, All species of familiar and Most breeds of Soquili are capable of being members.

As a generalized whole, the Malware troupe is Good to Neutral, though there may be members part of a dark underground network, where the most malicious of Malware members may act out.


- Skinwalkers are not allowed. Pretty much any other breed is okay


Function
The higher functioning members take care and protect those who are handicapped by the Virus. Uncorrupted members of the herd and Infected who's habit doesnt prevent them from doing every day tasks are thus caretakers. Sometimes stress might cause an uncorrupted member to temporarily become infected.

Higher functioning members often times take turns leading and protecting their troupe, so the Alpha and Protector is rarely the same two for very long.


Glitches
While it is far from a necessity to be, it is fairly common to see members born of The Troupe to have blurry, blocky edges when one looks at them. The natives call these "glitches". They often get confused when outsiders mention them as they don't see anything strange about it -- it's just a thing people are sometimes born with.

The glitch look differs in severity, but they are actually quite solid despite how garbled the glitched bits look, the glitching imagery often catching whatever is in the same location as the affected area -- put your hand into the glitch, and your hand looks glitched as well, but it is not contagious so as soon as your hands pull away it returns to normal as soon as it passes out of the field. With other glitches, the area you're touching might solidify but the edges around it will continue glitching, shifting the location of the glitch to around the location touched but not where its touched, then return to normal when the location is no longer being pet.

Packets
Anyone who simply lives in the troupe. The first infected members in times long since past were wolves, and they included those who were put behind the Firewall into their pack. Because of this, EVERYONE is a "Packette"

Anti-Virus
In olden days, the Anti-virus lived on the other side of the wall of fire, keeping the fires burning. These days, Anti-Virus are the healers, medicine men/women, and/or "Cleaners" (individuals who pray and use shamanistic type practices to try and help the infected gain higher function). Not all of them are uncorrupted, but all of them tend to be higher functioning. Some of them are free, others require pay for their services. Some are even absolute hacks or corrupted.

Searchers
Hunters, Foragers, and delivery. They work almost like a machine to keep the lower functioning members stocked on necessary supplies. Since this is a main hub, often times other deliveries are sent to the same location, supplies like tools and artwork. Because of it the Hub of where the food delivery to family dens is often called the Search Engine.

Yectenehua: Living to their south and lead by Ikinya and Cuauhcoatl, the herd quickly made an alliance to the small, well meaning but.... Strange group. They leave them for the most part alone, letting their culture continue as they cannot baby sit them in their entirety and don't wish to belittle their culture. However, if danger strikes, Guardians of Yectenehua are quick to take wing to protect their neighboring allies. And higher functioning members of the Malware Troupe will, if able to leave their own behind, come in to help them (though are much less reliable as so many members have difficulties and they must care for their own first)
