The night was cool and a breeze rustled the grass around the dusty yellow lioness as she patrolled. With Kimondo as queen things felt...peaceful and the edginess that years past had brought felt as if it was waning. She still was diligent in her duties to keep the pride safe.
There wasn't a moon tonight, meaning the Great Lion was not watching over them, the guards had to be even more watchful to protect the pride. Kawena paused her pacing to look up at the sky, the familiar stars glittered. This was home, and although she longed for adventure, she would never really leave it. Being a guard meant she could meet strangers easily and she hoped to hear of far off tales.
(rough start, sorry)

Bronach stalked through the cool night, he was most comfortable in the darkness, he didn't like the heat of the day and slept most of the day away. He found himself stalking near a lion pride, he was careful to stay in the shadows since a leopard never knew how a lion pride would react to a leopard. Some were welcoming and others were closed to his kind and many other species. He could easily see the lioness guard watching over the border of her homeland. He wondered if she scented him, he was trying to stay downwind, but even he made mistakes once in a while.
Plus he was curious of her skills and sense of smell so he left himself somewhat open to see what the brightly colored lioness was like. Perhaps they could talk a bit if she was skilled enough to spot his dark form in the darkness. If not he would watch her for a while and then move one to seek out other things to do and others who might prove amusing. He laid down in the shadows his scent possibly becoming stronger with him movement. Perhaps not, depending on the skills of the lioness.
