He was on an adventure. Having been born and bread in the Ela’wadiyi, he had never left its borders, he had actually never left the earth clan except for to attend the Sky festival every year and that was almost mandatory. He had decided to explore further afield though so he had decided an adventure was in order.
The dark brown lion had never been beyond the borders he knew so this particular travel wasn’t going that well. Manipi didn;t consider himself to be anything special, but usually if he put his mind to it and thought about what it was he needed to do he succeeded, of course he had taken up this particular challenge on a bit of a whim so maybe that was why it wasn’t really going to plan.
The sun was pretty high in the sky and while he was convinced he was still going east he wasn’t sure which clan he was in. Sure he knew the general direction of all the clans, or he thought he did. He was starting to think maybe he should re-trace his steps, go back to the earth clan and start again, but that would mean losing a couple of days travel. It was very much a conundrum and the heat of th sun really wasn’t helping.
“Manipi” The hare called from behind him, she hopped over his paws and smiled “There’s a bunch of trees over there, lets go and rest up for a bit in the shade, clear your mind okay?” She smiled brightly, Myrtus had been with the male lion for long enough to know when he was struggling. A little rest would go a long way in restoring him she had no doubts.
Manipi gave a nod and nudged the hare “Good idea.” Picking up his paws he loped towards a small copse of trees, its welcoming shade beckoned to him, a little nap until the sun dipped further to the horizon was just what was in order for him to get his Barkingside back and continue his exploration.

The shade under the trees was just delightful. Camarillo was half-asleep underneath them, having exhausted herself chasing her hare familiar the past hour or so. Though Camarillo was old enough to have started her own family, she was still impulsive, childish, and would rather spend time playing than worrying about anything deep. The most she ever worried about was keeping Malii safe from the newer Wolf clan members that may not realize she was a pet (if the tattoos didn't alert them, anyway!).
"Hey, hey! Wake up, someone is coming!!" Malii jumped on Camarillo's tail a couple times before bounding towards the strangers, the lack of fear due to living in the Ela'wadiyi lands her entire life. "Hello, hello!' Malii cried out while Camarillo rubbed her eyes, trying to wake up.
"Mmm? What are you doing, Malii?" The dark brown lioness stretched and yawned, unsure of how long she had been dozing. The shade had shifted a bit, and her rump was in the sun...so long enough. "W-wait for me!"

"What.....are you lost?" Camarillo's purple eyes glimmered a bit as she looked at the stranger's tattoos. They were fascinating, blending in so well with his coat colour that it was like his story was just waiting to be discovered...not to be seen as easily as her own. She had always lived a quiet life here, with normal migrations, tripping over rocks...that sort of thing.
"You're in the Wolf clan, sillies!" the hare laughed, tugging at her lion's tail to get her to wake up faster. Sheesh, Cam was so slow to wake up from her naps!
"Earth....I don't think you're too far from your clan's migration," Camarillo offered with one final yawn. She was finally starting to feel more awake and alert, though the idea if leaving the refuge of shade seemed like an awful idea. "If your adventure was to meet the Wolf clan, well...you've succeeded!"
"C'mon c'mon, get under the shade!" Malii flailed her little forepaws around, inviting the duo to come hide from the worst of the sun. It seemed like the poor lion needed it, with that dark coat and huge mane.

Manipi sighed a happy sigh as they were invited in to the shade. He accepted gratefully and stepped in to the dappled shadows. The difference in heat was almost instantaneous for him, his coat really did absorb a lot of heat. “Thank you.” He smiled a light smile “Wolf clan huh? Well at least we know where we are.” He beamed at the chocolate lioness, now he was in the shade, and his brain felt at least moderately less fried, he could truly admire her, her tattoos were so powerfully coloured, her story right there before him.
“Your story is so vibrant.” He spoke without hesitation, his eyes dancing over her tattoos, he suddenly felt glad he had gotten lost. The whole idea of taking an adventure was of course to meet others, to visit other clans but perhaps if he hadn’t gotten lost he wouldn’t have found this sleeping maiden.
Myrtus snorted a little laugh and settled herself on the male lions paws, sitting then slowly settling herself in so a slouch. This was her favourite place to rest. “I think we may have gone around in a bit of a circle Manipi.” She chuckled scratching her chin with a paw. “Still at least we found another clan.” The hare laughed gently.
“And we managed to stay in the lands thats a bonus right?” She smiled at the lioness and her hare companion. “Lost is an understatement.” The female hare shrugged none comitally. “I guess we are found now though thanks to the both of you. I thought Manipi was going to turn in to a lion roast.”
With both of his forepaws incapacitated by the pale hare Manipi leaned down and nudged his companion with his nose. “We always find a way out of a sticky situation Myrtus. I’v not been baked yet.” He chuckles smiling at the two creatures before him. “Were you born here? In the wolf clan?” He queried, an idea had occurred to him in that moment and it really wasn’t like him to hold back. “We could use a guide. Getting lost really isn’t very fun.”
