KATastrophe - An Outlands and Stormborn Event

Overview

A rogue-blooded Stormborn lioness by the name of Calypso has encouraged the gathering of a viking group large enough to pose a threat to any small pride, let alone one lioness. The Stormborn is still afflicted by an unnatural famine, and Calypso's hunger has only encouraged her own madness. It is time she put her past behind her, and the only way she can do that is to get rid of the dark shadow that hangs over her. Her mother, Katiti'manina.

This is, at it's core, a mission to lure Katiti'manina out of the Outlands and murder her. The lioness is known to be vastly wealthy with gold and jewelry. Likewise, Calypso will make it common knowledge that Katiti'manina is a seer, and not your average run-of-the-mill seer. Her visions are frequent and almost always relevant to her own greedy desires. It will be a difficult task to catch her alone, but Calypso has a plan for that.

Even the best of plans have some hitches, however. The Outlands after all, are not a group of soft lions who enjoy their days lounging on top of termite mounds. They are well-trained and fierce, and at this point in the pride's lifespan morale is high. They will provide resistance to the viking. The Heir of the Outlands, Prince Kethiwe, after all has a band of strong and disciplined lions and lionesses at his side.

Though the end goal is to murder Katiti'manina, what Calypso is using as a lure to encourage other Stormborn members to join her is an escape from a pride struck by famine. They will be plundering along the way, claiming thralls and taking treasure. The viking will be led by Sabia'deimos, a reputable Captain who is close to the current Warlord.

Thrall(s)

The Kat-astrophe plot has a chance to spurn some new thralls for those willing to participate in this little adventure. The thralls may come in a couple options dependent upon what we have available.

a) Thralls already owned and played. These characters are already owned and played by yourself or someone else. The character may be captured during the viking at nearly any point. Please include a copy of the link to where the lion was captured/taken willingly.

b) Brand spankin' new thralls not owned by someone. These prizes may be given away in a variety of ways and require those participating in the event to keep an eye out - who knows when us sneaky folk might leak a little secret that leads to a prize!

Joining the Stormborn

The Kat-astrophe plot has a chance to turn out new Stormborn! The pride that typically allows rogues through the act of a duel, born-in or family claimed will be opening it's doors during this unique time to those who prove themselves to be loyal. These loyal members will join OOCly in a similar fashion to the duels back home, BUT instead of having to repeat the process when the individual loses they will be approved either way. For the case of this event to duel at all is to show loyalty to those born of the storm.

Requirement(s): The individual is still required to comlete a duel with a lion from the opposing faction, in this case the Outlands. They will complete this in a similar fashion to the duel back home, but this time will likely earn themselves a pretty scar or two which is tradition in the Outlands. The lions here will not hold back like those entertaining the idea of answering a challenge at the borders of the Stormborn.

Skirmishes

Have a group that is out wandering? Rogue, pridal, or otherwise? Let us know here! The viking band WILL be in the roguelands as they travel to the Outlands under the guide of Sabia'deimos with Ull and Calypso steering the ship. It would come as no surprise that groups might try their paw at taking down some of the band. In fact the pride has enemies! The dirty pirates no longer exist, in their lands at least, but that doesn't mean a band of pirates doesn't try for the blood of some of these members.

How do you request interaction(s)? To do this you must complete and either post a form or PM it to one of the coordinators of this cross-pride event. They will be able to answer any questions, concerns, or interests you may have. We encourage any and all involvements surround this plot as it may tip things one way or the other - even with a fixed outcome.. for a certain few.

The estranged daughter of Katiti'manina. She possesses the worst qualities of her parents and has a reputation for being a particularly nasty and self-centered lioness. Having been used by her mother all throughout her life, Calypso has finally found the courage to develop a plan to finally rid herself of her demons. Her mother must die, or she will never be free. (played by Krysin)

Son of the favorite (best kept secret, ha) daughter to the former Warlord Aesir. He has done little to build a reputation off of what his family has already offered and though it doesn't currently drive him, it will occur to him later on. At this point he has little in the way of an established reputation with anyone, except Calypso - whom he has encouraged towards this goal (or at least helped to tip her in the direction). Sabia'deimos - played by Ctrl F Greenie

The Monarch's Soul of the Outlands, mother of Calypso. A powerful seer who has made it seem like her abilities are limitless. She is well-protected within the Outlands, and has no small amount of companions to call to her aid. Her flock of raven spies are always keeping a close eye on the pride's borders, and what they don't see coming surely Katiti'manina will. With Firekin blood coursing through her veins, she is a large and powerful lioness within her own right. (played by Krysin)

The Queen of the Outlands. She is one of the oldest remaining members of Scar's bloodline and has ruled the pride through some of the most trying points of their troubled existence. Under her reign, she has brought the pride back stronger and more determined than ever. (played by Felyn)

The Crown Prince of the Outlands. He was born during the pride's nomadic period and saw his homeland for the first time when they returned at Katiti's beckoning. He is only just coming to terms with how real his role is as his mother's heir now that they have become whole again and while he is trying his hardest, some days seem more daunting than others for the young prince. What purpose ISN'T there? When Ull approached her he seemed.. shy for the line he was born from. It took no time at all for him to pose the idea though. She warmed up to him quickly after that and accepted the request to head the venture. Sabia wouldn't deny that several times throughout her rather long life she had considered murdering her own father. Her Mother had been gone for so long that she was likely dead already - any other family? She would accept them on a case by case basis. So to help aid another lioness rid herself of her mother? Of course she couldn't refuse.

Purpose(s):

Pórvi is a quiet lioness. It's something she has inherited from her mother, and has held her back within her pride. However much she loves her mother though, she knows that deep down, she has a true viking spirit; the spirit of a Stormborn. Being close to being considered a full adult now, the young lioness is out to prove who she can be, not who she currently is. This opportunity is a great way for her to do just that, as well as a lame excuse to hang out with her sister, Eira.
