Name: S'deri (Sioderi) Age: 72 Nameday: 3503.03.09 Sex: Male Sexual Orientation: emotion_kiss Weyr: High Reaches Weyr Rider Rank: Wingrider Previous Rank/Craft: Journeyman Dragonhealer
Physical Description: Thick, dark chocolate hair has thus far barely silvered, and combining that with his cheerful demeanor, S'deri can easily pass for a decade or two younger than he actually is. His laugh lines look good on him, and his gold eyes are bright. His posture, however, is somewhat uneven, and he walks with a stiff-legged limp resulting from a badly-broken and poorly-healed left leg quite some turns ago. 6'1".
Personality: Oh, hello! It's a lovely day, isn't it? Just wonderful! He could be in the middle of a downpour or a blizzard and mean that, absolutely. S'deri is a persistent, relentless optimist for whom the glass is always overflowing. He loves life, and he really, really loves a good time: good food, good drink, good company, a good game between friends. He doesn't care whether or not he wins, even if he loses all his marks, as long as everyone's having fun.
Making friends comes as easy to him as breathing, on account not only of his cheerfulness but his willingness to accept people for who and what they are, whatever that may be. He has a high tolerance for all but the very worst types of people, but even those he will mostly let be unless he or someone dear to him is directly threatened. But he's a lover, not a fighter, and prefers to use words to diffuse tension.
With his good cheer, optimism, and faith that things always work out in the end, S'deri can be cavalier. He doesn't make plans - why bother? everything will be fine! - and very few concerns will give him pause, if they occur to him at all. 'It seemed like a good idea at the time' can often be applied to his actions, and he's gotten himself into no few scrapes and mishaps. Even after the accident that broke his leg, he's no less prone to making himself a victim of his own...loose grasp of good judgement. He's familiar and informal, though never impolite or untoward, so for the most part he comes off as charming. He does at least take responsibility and duty with most of the seriousness they're due...in theory. In reality, he can be easily waylaid by any number of pleasant distractions. Show him even a hint that there is a good time to be had, and he is all over it, with no sense of urgency about where he's supposed to be or what he's supposed to be doing, a habit not at all helped by his two decades of 'retirement' and no pressing responsibilities (caring for his dragon and family aside). He's prone to being late to or easily distracted from tasks, so he's destined to be a project/perennial headache for his wingleader.
He has a difficult time saying no to his friends. Or to children. Or to anyone he likes even a little bit, or looks at him just so, or...well. Suffice to say he's an easy touch if someone wants or needs anything from him, right down to the shirt off his back.
Positive Trait List sunny, accepting, optimistic Negative Trait List cavalier, pushover, hedonistic
History: Like so many High Reaches weyrbrats, Sioderi was the result of a goldflight, in his case born to a Healer mother and to one of two or three friends. Most of his childhood was spent in the creche, which was just fine by him, as he was a social butterfly from a young age, and loved the company of both the other children and the crecheworkers. He did spend time with his mother, of course, and loved her dearly. Naturally, like most of his friends, he entered Candidacy once he was of age, and proceeded to make (or attempt to make) even more friends. It didn't bother him when he didn't Impress right away, or after five turns, or ten...although it did hurt a little to age out. It hurt more that a few of his friends didn't stay his friends, individuals who had Impressed 'well' and didn't have time for him anymore. Still, these were outnumbered by real friends, and he was content to stay at the Weyr, having entered into dragonhealing.
He was quite surprised when, just a turn after aging out, he was called down from the Stands by a handsome little blue. The pair made for passable Weyrlings, neither inclined to trouble nor to very hard work. But they made it through, and mostly stuck around for the next two decades. There were escapades here and there, but High Reaches was home, and he would always drift back within a turn. He had no shortage of friends, no shortage of loves and of course his share of children - always cared for, treasured, and deeply loved.
At 47, an ill-advised attempt to ride a green runner to impress a handsome Beastcrafter went about as well as could be expected. He broke his leg, badly, and even with treatment, it didn't heal well. Riding became uncomfortable at best, and as riders weren't strictly needed, he opted to take an early retirement and head to Ista. There he found more friends and more loves, including an Herbalist named Adairna, had a few more children, and was a content and happy man with little drama or upset in his life, and all the while continued in his craft. He is capable, skilled, and well-practiced, though he was never dedicated or diligent enough to seek to become more than a Journeyman.
All was well, until Thread returned, at which point he made the choice to come out of retirement. While his leg does give him trouble, and riding even the half a 'Fall a blue is capable of is painful, but he can do it, and feels it would be wrong not to. He stayed on at Ista for awhile, but recently requested to transfer back to his original home of High Reaches.
Other: Adi's dad. Also Rio's, but unaware. Very probably others as well.
DRAGON Name: Luuth Age: 44 (3530.08.25 Zamiath x Baloth) Color: Blue Size: 24' Physical Description: A light, whippy little dragon made for speed and agility.
Personality: As amiable a dragon as you could ever hope to find, Luuth is a bright, happy blue who radiates warmth and good cheer. His proverbial feathers are almost impossible to ruffle, and anything short of a serious physical attack on his person or His will be brushed off or even laughed at. Life is what you make it, and he refuses to let anyone else bring him down. Even the most vitriolic of traditionalist rants will roll off of him like water on a freshly-oiled hide.
And speaking of freshly-oiled hides, Luuth is very fastidious about his appearance. He thinks himself quite a handsome fellow (he's not wrong), and likes to look his best for all the ladies - and the other fellows, too. He's a casual flirt and a ready participant in any Flight, but if someone were to catch his hearts, he would be perfectly happy to settle down.
Though he buckles down during drills and Threadfall to do his duty, outside of such obligations he is a highly social, incredibly playful dragon, traits he has not and will never grow out of. He will chat up anyone without hesitation, and is ever eager for boops and cuddles.

Oooohhh, these two sound like tons of fun!
And alllllmost good to go! For S'deri's negative traits, pushover is well-described, but I'm having some difficulty seeing where being cavalier and hedonistic actually hurts him or others. Could you add some more about those traits, please? Thank you! heart
