Ishkhara woke delightfully warm and comfortable...much too warm to be in her own drafty weyr. That she was curled up close to a particularly fine-looking heat source didn't hurt, either - rather impressively muscled, with a strong jaw and dark hair she could remember running her hands through. She couldn't quite recall the color of his eyes, but she'd had her mind on other things once a gold had taken to the sky. And Keyrarath had been quick to go up after, less to chase Anakumath and more to catch herself some hearts to console. There was never a shortage of those after a goldflight.

The greenrider didn't even know if their respective catches were a pair. Everything was pleasantly hazy, and Keyrarath, wherever she was, was sound asleep. Whatever the case, Ishkhara wasn't concerned, and cuddled up closer to her partner. And, unable to resist, traced her fingers along that jawline. If it woke him, hopefully he wouldn't object.

G'vos had been well asleep, but the sensation of someone brushing their fingers against his jaw was enough to rouse him from sleep. He had no weyrmate, and though Hizulath participated in his fair-share of flights--particularly when a certain blue joined them!--the dragon had made no intention to chase Anakumath. That he still woke with company was a surprise--though not necessarily an unpleasant one.

He shifted a bit on his cot, turning over just enough to resettle more comfortably on his side--and if his arms snaked out to pull whoever was nestled next to him just a bit closer--he hoped they wouldn't object. Anakumath's flight might have made his memories a bit hazy, but gazing over at Ishkhara jogged a few of them to the forefront. She was not entirely unfamiliar. They were wingmates, after all, and he'd been assigned to fly sweeps with her on more than a dozen of occasions. But just because he knew her, didn't mean he knew her well--and certainly not this intimately. Despite having spent 20 Turns at High Reaches Weyr, G'vos wasn't the sort to get out there and pray into the affairs of his fellow wingriders. He did was he was bade, threw his all into his duty, and generally kept to himself. He had his small handful of friends... but Ishkhara was not among them.

Not, of course, because there was something wrong with her, but because it was simpler this way. Easier. Flights and the lust that accompanied them were one of the few times he'd let himself at least fall into such a passionate distraction. "Ishkhara," he greeted, voice still a bit rough.

Hizulath, who was dozing idly on their ledge, did send him a bit of encouragement. Morning after's could be delicate affairs, after all--but G'vos wasn't cruel, and he also wasn't about to hurry her away, either. He might have been aloof, but that didn't make him blind. They'd had a nice time... Though how much that was Anakumath's doing, and her own greens, wasn't a question he intended to ask. "Are you comfortable? Did you sleep all right?" He was in no haste at all to move--but also didn't wish to keep her there if she wished to be away. He could, at minimum, make sure she was all right.

In the months since she'd graduated, Ishkhara had been more than happy to throw herself into the new family that was her wing, but it was a very big family - which, while far from dissuading her, did mean that there were yet those she knew far better than others. People person though she was, in every way, she did not lack sense of boundaries, and was not the sort to hound those who were quieter or more aloof unless she judged they needed help she might be able to provide. And G'vos had certainly never seemed to fall into that category, she had well let him be, but had found him easy to work on the occasions they were assigned together. It had never escaped her notice that he was a handsome one, either, and so she was anything but disappointed to have fallen in with him during the Flight.

She all but purred as she was pulled closer, happy as anything to be held in such strong arms and drawn close. Taking it as something like permission, she nuzzled his neck and tilted her head just so to kiss the base of his jaw. Ah, he was practically everything she was weak for, broad and muscular and just a bit older, and so serious. Quite the catch indeed for a cold winter's night. "Perfectly," she answered to both questions, voice and eyes soft as she skimmed a hand up to brush fingers idly through his hair. Mm, yes, that was still very nice indeed, and she was in no rush to go anywhere at all. "I hope you did as well. There's nothing quite like being so well-rested."

Now that the grogginess of the morning was beginning to wane, G'vos turned his attention more fully on Ishkhara--and that wasn't such an unpleasant thing. She was a pretty woman, and while he hadn't expected to get so wrapped up in the flight--he didn't object now that morning had arrived. The touch of her fingers through his hair, and the kisses against his jawline surprised him--but in the best way. Morning after's could be quite awkward and uncomfortable, though G'vos did his best to mitigate such things when he could--but to have her so freely affectionate was, at least, a good sign.

As she ran fingers through his hair, he did turn his head just so to let his lips offer her arm a few kisses. Not that he had any expectations of where the morning might lead--but he was more than happy to at least keep her comfortable. Much of the night had been dragon-driven...he was looking forward to getting to know her without all that haze.

"Slept like a rock thanks to you," he confirmed, letting a faint smile cross his features. Anakumath might have started the fire, but Ishkhara certainly had kept it burning. "You're quite a welcome surprise to my usual morning routine," he confessed, letting his fingers run gently against the small of her back. They might have been half-strangers, but he was in no rush to face the morning cold. With luck, she wouldn't be, either.

Between goldflights and, somewhat more recently, her own green, Ishkhara was no stranger to the various mornings-after that could result. Had G'vos not seemed receptive, she'd have let him be and not been offended, but since that didn't seem to be the case as she tested the waters, she was all too happy to wade in deeper. The night's memories were hazy, but tantalizing, and she would far rather stay here and explore them than make the trek back to her own weyr.

The little kisses and the fingers running along the small of her back tickled faintly, eliciting a soft giggle that gave way to a most contented sound. "Not that we didn't have a little help, but I'm happy to take the credit." She knew she had the influence of Anakumath to thank for at least half of this equation - she had no idea whether Hizulath had budged for any Flight at all, but now that she was well awake, she knew it was a blue who'd caught Keyrarath. But she'd already been well stirred up before that, and clearly gotten a bit ahead of her dragon in snatching a prize. "And I'm glad to be the good kind of surprise."

The greenrider shifted slightly, almost loathe to do so but terribly curious to see more of her companion that she might better appreciate him, fingers tracing down to explore any marks that Thread might have left upon him. "You're not too set in your routine to stray from it a little more, I hope..."

There were worse ways in the world to wake up, G'vos decided, and he had little desire to hurry the green rider away. She was soft, and decidedly pretty, and a newfound lack of riding gear made that terribly clear now that they were newly reacquainted. He hardly could tell if Hizulath had gone up to chase either or lady or not--for it was not of ladies that the brown had a taste for presently. It was a particular blue that he'd found himself ensorcelled with, which was just as well for G'vos. The Weyr was full of temptation and distraction, and the brown rider was far from immune.

Hizulath could have his fun... and it seemed G'vos could, too.

Thankfully, he had no expectations this morning. He was too old to think a flight meant anything more than an intimate encounter, and too guarded to even try to turn it into something more. It was a nice distraction from the work and pain of Threadfighting. If he walked away knowing Ishkhara all the better for it, than that was simply the icing on the cake.

Ever a romantic. Hizulath privately teased from his own perch, curled up ever so happily around a pale coated blue. The dragon had no intention of returning to his ledge anytime soon or disturbing his lovely prize.

"I couldn't think of anything--or anyone--better, honestly," he confessed, allowing himself to drink her in, even as she let herself explore. He had scars aplenty, between Threadfall and the time at the mines--but he was not ashamed... at least not with how he obtained said marks. Any shame he possessed was more deep-seeded and for far different reasons. Things she didn't really need to know. "Hizulath has abandoned his ledge at present--and even if he hadn't, I'm certainly in no rush to leave."

He let his own hands run up her back and shoulders, before covetously tracing them down her arms and sides, quite tempted indeed. "In fact, I'd rather you stay--so we might better indulge in a lazy morning, and better get to know each other outside of the dragonhaze." The Weyr would likely be off to a slow start anyway after Anakumath's flight--and the brown rider had a newfound interest in getting to know his wingmate. This time with a little more purpose and a little less draconic need.

Keyrarath was...somewhere. Her ledge, another's, Ishkhara couldn't tell from the glimpses she'd taken into her green's mind. She was still more asleep than awake, and tucked quite securely under a dark blue wing rather than taking in a view of the sunrise. And Ishkhara was rather too preoccupied to pry, regardless, as she had her own company to enjoy, in her own way, and she had much more than lounging in mind - inclinations, it seemed, that G'vos shared.

"Sounds like we have all the time in the world, then..." Or near enough to it, at least. The greenrider purred, a sound broken momentarily by a giggle when his fingers brushed over a delightfully ticklish spot on her side. Though she did give a tiny little wriggle, her explorations were far from dissuaded - she very much intended to be thorough, and get to know her wingmate better still.

So not precisely a lazy morning, for all that it was spent in bed.

---

What felt like much later, once again cuddled comfortably up with the brownrider, her curiosity (and then some) satisfied for now, Ishkhara was as absolutely content as a feline lounging in the sun. Though not tired enough to fall asleep again - for she had indeed slept quite well already - she did lapse into a pleasantly hazy almost-doze, happy to be well wrapped up in strong arms, her fingers tracing lazy little patterns.

It was hard to imagine a better way to spend the morning, really. The only improvement would be for it to be a rest day, but alas, they didn't have that good fortune. Still, slow starts were to be expected after a goldflight, so there was time yet for lazing about. And breakfast, as her stomach decided to remind her with a growl. Unembarrassed by the noise - she'd rather earned being hungry, after all - she chuckled. "I don't know about you, but I've certainly worked up an appetite. I feel like I could eat a dozen sweetrolls. And cheese. Something with plenty of cheese."

Not that she was demanding either or expecting him to go and fetch breakfast while she lazed about in his bed - she'd be perfectly willing to do the fetching, or even to accompany him to the dining hall and eat there, although breakfast in bed was, admittedly, the most appealing option.

The morning had gotten away from G'vos, but the dark haired man didn't mind. With a pale-haired beauty snuggled comfortably against him, and Hizulath curled up with the pale blue of his dreams, what more could he ask for or want? For just a brief moment, he was too satisfied to keep his defenses up, and instead, could soak in the peace. He didn't need to think too much, wrapped up in such bliss, and instead, could simply be.

Honestly, he could almost get used to such a morning...

But he wasn't a romantic, and he certainly wasn't fool enough to think that he'd be seeing much more of his wingmate after they sorted themselves out. But just because he knew there would be an ending didn't mean he had to hurry it along. In fact, he was more than happy to at least ensured they were well-fed, especially with Ishkara's rumbling of her stomach.

"I'd say breakfast is in order, but I honestly think we're likely closer to lunch," he confessed, finally giving himself a long, lengthy stretch. A visit to the baths might be welcome, too, but perhaps after a bit to eat. The day would continue to march on, but thus far their had been no sign or notification of any snap drills or duties. He might as well take advantage of such freedom while he could.

"If you don't mind keeping our spot warm, I won't mind braving the cold to fetch us a tray to share." He wouldn't be the only one bringing food back up to their weyr--not after Anakumath's flight. Grudgingly, he did move away from where Ishkhara rested, and began the process of looking where his clothes had landed. He didn't need much -- but the cold of winter had him yearning to be back in the warm furs.

"Lunch will do just as well," she said with a soft chuckle. "Somehow I doubt we're the only ones to have missed breakfast." Regardless of when, precisely, they happened, goldflights had a way of eating away at large swaths of time, even after the direct effects had long since worn off.

After he had stretched and moved - leaving the bed somewhat less comfortable for it - Ishkhara indulged in a stretch of her own before pointedly cozying herself deeper into the furs. It provided her with quite a fine view to admire as he searched for his clothes, and she watched with a somewhat smug smile of satisfaction. Sure, there was no small amount of chance involved when it came to who one ended up with during a Flight if you ventured out with no one in particular in mind, but she was quite pleased with and for herself regardless. "I'll take it as my solemn duty, then."

She'd certainly never minded being a bedwarmer, especially when it was actually cold out. And when he did return, she would indeed be right where he'd left her, patiently waiting.

The trip down to the Lower Caverns didn't take long, and sure enough, he wasn't the only rider bringing a tray. He almost envied the Wingleaders and Weyrleadership who had access to the kitchens directly and didn't need to leave their furs on such a cold morning, but the thought of who was waiting for him was enough to keep him smug and pleased. Not every rider would be waking up to a beauty, after all--and the fact she seemed to want to linger worked out very well.

Nobody asked any questions, of course, and G'vos kept quiet about who he was clearly entertaining. He had always been a private man, after all, and had no intention of changing that now. When he returned, he set the tray on the end table, closest to Ishkhara. "I must admit, you're a lovely sight all bundled up like so," he confirmed, more than pleased to find she hadn't had a change of heart while he was out. He had no intention of keeping her here for longer than she wished, and he also was no fool regarding flights. What they were doing was just a bit of fun, no strings attached. She was attractive, and didn't seem to mind how their morning was going. Until they parted ways, he'd simply enjoy the change of scenery while he had it.

"Klah or something stronger?" He asked, more than happy to pour. He'd brought the klah up to help keep them warm--but he had a few bottles of wine in his weyr, and it was never too early for a goblet as far as he was concerned. Especially as it was closer to lunch. Eager as he was to crawl back in bed, he'd at least get them settled with drinks. And if Ishkhara preferred to move to the table, he'd oblige. Whatever suited her, suited him.

Pushover. Hizulath mused quietly, smugly, still happily curled up with a coveted blue.

G'vos ignored him.

One would have been hard-pressed indeed to get Ishkhara out of the furs, comfortable and warm as they were, awaiting the return of a very attractive bedmate - with brunch, at that. And if she'd happened to arrange herself just so while she waited to be that much more of a welcome sight, well, who could blame her? She knew she was attractive, she knew how to make the most of it, and she was very gratified when he approved upon his return, favoring him with a warm smile and a hint of a hungry look that wasn't all for the food he'd brought with him. "Had to keep warm somehow while you were gone."

But she hadn't been lying, she really was quite hungry for actual food. The greenrider shifted a bit, sitting up but keeping herself just wrapped enough in the furs to keep from inviting a chill. She'd have been happy with the klah - some welcome extra warmth - but when he offered something stronger, she couldn't resist. The hedonist in her usually did win out. "I wouldn't object to something stronger, since you're offering."

And there was some warmth to be had in wine, as well, albeit of a different sort.

"You managed well, from the looks of it," he complimented, unable to resist admiring her within the furs. He might have been known to be quiet and a bit aloof, but he was more than happy to warm up to his wingmate. More and more he found himself pleased at their morning arrangements; while Hizulath had found a beauty of a blue, he seemed to have found a beauty of a blonde. Neither dragon, no rider, had any complaints with how everything had turned out.

"Indeed, I am," he concurred. "Never too early in this line of work, after all," he confessed, even as he sought out one of the bottles. It didn't take long to open it, and pour them both a cup. It happened to be a Bendan white, with a sweet fragrance that was sure to compliment some of the morning fruit and pastries. It would also help keep off the morning chill.

He offered Ishkhara the cup, before pulling over a sidetable closer to the bed. There, he set down the tray of food, where Ishkhara could take her pick of offerings. He was hungry, certainly, and after an active night his body was ready for some nourishment. He kicked off his boots, and dropped off his jacket, before settling back into bed. He might have been overdressed for the morning, but he wouldn't presume his present company wanted him stripped down, as he'd been before.

For now, he'd let Ishkhara settle in with first choice of the pickings, and he'd enjoy the wine and the view.

Ishkhara was delighted that breakfast would indeed be in bed, rather than out of it, which meant she could stay perfectly comfortable in the furs rather than having to get dressed. It was also nice to know that G'vos clearly wasn't a fussy sort, from embracing the disruption of his routine to food in bed and wine early in the day. This was exactly her sort of morning.

"A man after my own heart," she purred, accepting the cup with a smile and scooting carefully towards the edge of the bed - and him. She was perfectly happy to cuddle up again and share the warmth, which she had plenty of after being so burrowed into the furs. She might well have been underdressed, for her part, but found nothing at all wrong with that. So unless her wingmate voiced some objection, which seemed unlikely, she was content to be clad just in furs until she absolutely had to be dressed.

"Mm, I hardly know where to start..." The blonde leaned forward to peruse the offerings and ultimately selected a large strawberry to begin with.

G'vos watched as Ishkhara moved closer to him. She might have been looking at the food, but he would enjoy her proximity. In fact, while she selected a large strawberry, he allowed his hand to reach over and stroke her leg. He wouldn't take her away from the food--but it was very hard to ignore her presence, and he wasn't ready to keep his hands off.

"A fine choice," he rumbled his approval, watching her eat with keen interest. Could she blame him though? She did make quite a sight rolled up in the furs, eating finger food. She was temptation divine and he was quite certain she knew it. Though it would have been easy to simply drink in the sight of her while she feasted, he didn't want to leer at her, or make her uncomfortable. So, after another swig of his wine, he set down his glass, and leaned forward to pick up a handful of grapes. Fruit wasn't in season for the Weyr, but it was clear High Reaches had managed to get in a decent shipment from somewhere.

For that, he was grateful.

He kept his hand on his fellow greenrider though--not out of a sense of possessiveness, but simply because he could.

"I'm afraid I've been spoiled," he confessed after a few moments quiet. Beautiful company, good food, and fine wine. It would be hard to top this morning in the days to come. Maybe it was still Anakumath's doing...maybe it was her. He wouldn't think much about it.
