As per usual, Mina was running late to her meeting. Today marked the first gathering of her newly assigned team, Squad 4. However, the young Jonin wasn’t in a particular rush. Mina was thinking as she walked, recalling the events of the last few days. Of course there was the impending Jashinist threat, which probably resulted in Mina’s assignment. Konoha needed more combat ready shinobi to be ready for when that group attacked again. She didn’t like the idea of sending children out to fight those monsters from the Citadel. But at the same time, she couldn’t risk them not being ready.
And then there was everything with Kai. Mina couldn’t forget him; the injuries she’d sustained during their fight wouldn’t let her. The wounds under the small bandages ached as she reminisced back. What happened to him? And was he okay now? It probably had something to do with why Mina was being given a squad, of all people.
She shook her head. She needed to focus on the task at hand. Mina looked down to the files in her hands, taking another moment to read them. Sohmir Vhuga, Hitoshi Hojo, and Fumiko Akimichi. If their scores were anything to go off of, Squad 4 would have some good synergy. But the some notes from the Academy Teacher left Mina a little pensive. Team work might be a bit of issue with these three… she thought. “Well we can’t have that.” She thought aloud, quietly, as she snapped the files shut. With that said, the Jonin had finally made it to the meet up point.
“Hi there!” Mina chimed with an embarrassed wave. “Sorry I’m late everyone, I was feeding the cats by my building and lost track of time. My name is Minashiba Takatsuki, but you can just call me Mina.” The redheaded Jonin leaned against the desk at the front of the room, crossing her arms as she looked to her students. “Why don’t you tell me about yourselves?”

Fumiko waited on baited breath for the rest of her squad to arrive. She had been here early from the get go, eager to finally meet everyone as she was her usual chipper self when things were turning out a okay. As every member of her team entered, she'd greet them warmly and offer some of her delicious tasting food she had snuck in from home! In the meantime, she'd be downing a giant bowl of udon noodles as everyone would show up...except for their teacher. The noodles were slurped as fast as the girl could draw, the large bowl in one handle balanced ever so carefully to allow for the perfect ratio of liquid-to-noodle consumption. Fumiko didn't talk with her mouth full of food, however. Even the biggest of appetites had table manners after all.
The door would soon open as a red haired woman would come through, wearing an expression of embarrassment at being so tardy for their meeting. Still, Fumi was among the first to wave to her after setting her udon bowl aside. "Are those the cute cats by the corner of that pharmacy place? I love the cats there!~" she said with a smile plastered on her face. Like the other children present in the room, and the eighteen year old, Fumiko would raise her hand to go first when it came to introductions before letting loose a flurry of punches and kicks for everyone to see. Once her little show was done, she spun back around to bring both feet together and her hands at her sides. "I'm Akimichi Fumiko, daughter of the owners of the Taiga Senbai in Konoha!~ I'm becoming a ninja so that I can spread our name through the world and then I'll be able to cook for everyone and be the best Akimichi ever~" Content with her answer, she'd go back to looking at the other two people present with her curiosity abound.

Hitoshi didn't know how he felt about this. Certainly he had always known that it was a possibility he would be placed on a squad after becoming a genin, but apparently he hadn't actually given much thought to what such a thing would entail, because all he felt as he approached the assigned meeting place was a looming sense of dread. What if he didn't get along with them? They would hate him, surely. He wasn't exactly a people person. Already it was a miracle that he'd made a... friend? in Yui. Asking for the miracle to repeat itself was asking too much.
The thought of the young girl he'd befriended that day at the academy made Hitoshi freeze up, glancing around furtively for the girl. She'd appeared an adorable kid that day, but surprised him upon revealing she was already a Genin and was willing to help him train. He'd agreed but, well... that little girl was a taskmistress if he ever saw one! Wherever he went she would somehow show up, ready to train him again by having him do tens of pushups with her sitting upon his back. The worst part was that she was only trying to be nice and it worked! He somehow passed and became a genin himself. Despite how exhausted his time with her always left him, Hitoshi really needed to thank Yui. She'd been a huge help.
The young man broke out of his thoughts upon spotting that despite his arriving rather early he was not the first one here. At the meeting place was a girl around Yui's age. Was she meant to be a part of his squad? At least she seemed nice, greeting him warmly as he approached. Hitoshi felt too awkward and out of place to do much more than to offer a hesitant nod in return, accepting the food shoved into his hands before his mouth had a chance to catch up to his brain and say no. He ended up just sitting quietly apart from the girl, watching in awe as she put away the food she had left in the black hole that must have been her stomach. At some point, their other squadmates entered. Hitoshi would not talk to him later, simply staring down at his food while they waited for their teacher.
He had just gotten over his trepidation enough to start digging into his own food, making sure not to forget to offer thanks to the girl who gave it to him, when their teacher finally arrived, his chopsticks placed in his mouth as she introduced herself, requesting that they do the same. The spunky girl did so first, and Hitoshi was glad he could put a name to her instead of just referring to her as "girl" in his head. Fumiko seemed... alright. He had no complaints so far. Oh crap, they were all looking at him. Was it his turn? "I'm Hitoshi. Hitoshi Hojo." Slurping up another mouthful of noodles, he nodded his approval to Fumiko. This really was quite good, even if it had gone lukewarm from just sitting there for a while. "I'm afraid I don't have any family or goals of my own but I am uh... interested in hunting monsters and yokai? Hitoshi had managed to feign confidence at the beginning of his introduction, but by the end such confidence had vanished. Not knowing what else to say he went back to eating his food, attempting to keep quiet and allow his second squadmate to introduce himself.

With the exception of their assigned squad leader, it appeared that Somir was the last to show up. He paused on arrival, looking between Hitoshi and Fumiko, adjusting the sword case draped over his shoulder. He declined the offer of food as politely as he could before taking his seat. Somir wasn't much for words, and it seemed like his squad maters weren't interested in talking amongst themselves either at the moment. Perhaps it was the lack of familiarity for the other two, but for mister Vhuga, quiet and reclusive was his natural state. After all, prior to his time in the hidden leaf, Somir was essentially a hermit, without the religious basis for his style of living. Shortly after Somir took his seat their leader walked in. He hid a yawn behind his hand as she waved, then nodded in response.
His head tilted backwards as she offered for them to provide her with a bit of an introduction. His mind was blank, and nothing of particular note came to him. Listening to Fumiko and Hitoshi, he decided that his name would be a good place to start his own introduction. "Uh.... My name's Somir Vhuga, I'm a genin," he started, stating what was painfully obvious without so much as a hint of embarassment. "I don't really have any family to mention either." Somir paused a moment to think whether the guy who had found him in the woods would count as family, but decided that it didn't matter. "I look forward to working with everyone." He concluded his part of their introductions and hefted his sword case onto the floor beside him. It was starting to make his shoulder tired. He made a mental note of the goals of his squad mates, but opted not to address those at this time.

“I see.” Her group seemed pointedly reclusive, aside from Fumiko. Mina rubbed the back of her head once the introductions were over. They didn’t give her a lot to work with. “Ah! Well, like I said, my name is Mina. I like sports, and reading mystery novels. I run the Cat Cafe here in Konoha on my off days, and cats are my favorite animal.” She held her chin with her forefinger and thumb. “And as for why I became a Shinobi. Hmm.”
A smile spread over her face as she began to answer. “I owe Konoha my life, to be honest.” Her heart became heavy as she thought about her adoptive mother, Zakaki. How long had it been since they’d spoken? Not since the New Verales incident, but to be sure. But the young Jonin hid her remorse behind her smile. “So I want to do everything I can to make sure it stays safe.”
“So on that note!” Mina clapped her hands together as a way to hype herself up. “I’d like to say congratulations on becoming Genin. However.” Her smile turned a little more fierce, and the serenity in her eyes ignited into fire. “You still have one more obstacle. If you’ll follow me.”
Mina took her students out of the building and into a nearby training ground. Team Four would be able to see a large court, divided in half by a long net. She faced her squad and crossed her arms over her chest. “The three of you are going to play a game of volleyball against me. Standard rules, and you can use whatever Jutsu you know. But there’s a twist.”
Mina let the news hang in the air. Despite the casual nature of their test, Mina did her best to create tension in the air. As she explained the rules, the Genin before her would watch a change. Her cheerful and upbeat nature would shift, to a strict and stern tone. “Only the person with the most points can pass. The other two will have to try again next year. So try not to fall behind. But if I win, then all three of you fail. And there will be no second chances, and all three of you will be barred from becoming Shinobi. Am I understood?”
Without making a sign, three clouds of smoke exploded around Mina. When the smoke faded, a single volleyball was in her hand. But, more importantly, two Shadow Clones stood to either side. “First serve is yours. Make sure you give it your all.”

The rest of the squad would introduce themselves as it became very clear that Fumiko would be the youngest in the room currently by a wide margin. Standing at 11 years old, she'd gaze up at the adults and man towering around her and couldn't help but feel like she was in the wrong class. "Boy, talk about a positive, upbeat group..." The girl thought to herself, crossing her arms while she would looked back up at the teacher. Mina would greet all of them warmly and give a little speech of her own about why she became a ninja to begin with. A shinobi AND she owned the Cat Cafe that Fumiko loved to look in and see what the kitties would be up to? What a dream life! She made a mental note to visit again while the teacher of the group would permit them to while then also snapping up to attention at her addition to their graduation.
"WHAT?!" Fumiko fussed about. "You can't do that! We passed, fair and square." she pouted, following the group out of the building and towards the training grounds that would come near them. Wait, this wasn't even a training ground! It was a ******** ball court! the rules were explained to everyone as Fumiko would glance back at the other two who were with her. Only one of them was graduating while the other two would be held back a year, and that was if they won. "I think this is all nonsense and I'd rather fight you for this exercise, but this volleyball will work too before I tell the Hokage about it." Fumiko said, ready for this little game to begin. Soon turning around to the two beside her. "Try not to get in my way. I'd hate for either of you to get hurt while I smash our teacher's face in. Now then, let's rock!~" She said, getting ready to act like was serve, soon casting an array of hand seal as her right arm wound begin to grow to a massive size. At E Rank, the limb's weight is equivalent to the user's natural body weight and doubles that each rank above that. The user is able to move the limb normally without drawback. The user may utilize this limb for any taijutsu or basic combat art technique for the current post and may be sustained for two ranks below it's casted cost every two posts if desired.

Those within range can have this radiating fearful aura become the trigger for genjutsu, allowing genjutsu to be cast by acknowledging the user. In addition, should an opponent be targeted by a melee technique that is greater in rank than the target's body rank that target has tier two paralysis applied to their legs, requiring it to be broken by Kai equal to the user's body rank, costing the target no action for that specific instance of kai. ▱▰▱ Specialization: → Master of Many: The user sets out to learn all of their class's style available to them in their studies. The user gains access to an additional style every rank for a total of six.
Passives: ▱▰▱ Ravenous Eater | The user now gains both stamina and chakra when using the clan's ability to eat and regain resources. In addition, resources regained are increased to one rank above the user's body rank.
▱▰▱ Chakra Control | The user has learned to utilize their finite chakra control to reduce the upkeep cost of techniques by one rank and techniques with a post limitation are increased by one.

Hitoshi wasn't sure how he felt about Mina-sensei yet, aside from feeling a bit of surprise to hear that they might actually have a bit in common. She'd still been late though, but it was to feed her cats so could he really fault her for that? Sometimes he really did think he liked animals more than people himself, and cats were pretty cute. Somir seemed to be the quiet type, just like himself. Hitoshi couldn't help but to feel a bit bad for Fumiko being stuck with the two of them. Should he... try to be a bit more personable? Or was it too late now, and that would only come across as weird after establishing himself as being a quiet guy? Did it even matter, or was he only overthinking things like usual?
Stuck in his mind as he was, Hitoshi was almost left behind by the group. Feeling rather exasperated at his own internal ramblings, he quickly finished the last of the food that Fumiko had given him before tossing it into the trash and rushing to catch up. He was none too pleased to find out that there would be yet one more obstacle before they could officially be called Genin. Not only that but...
"What the hell?! Don't you guys need more ninja? Why would you just expel two of us like that? Hitoshi agreed with Fumiko that this was bullshit. They were expected to compete to become Genin? But... he couldn't! Sure if they were just normal people and this was normal volleyball he might be able to use his greater height and reach to his advantage, but these people were very much not normal. Even with his height there was no way he could measure up, and that was made all the more clear when the otherwise tiny girl's arm grew to an absurd proportion that should have tipped her over from its weight. Fumiko's actions did present him an opportunity though, one Hitoshi fully intended to take advantage of since there was no way he'd be able to brute force his way to victory here.
"Might as well at least try, even if it is useless. He thought, picking up a volleyball while Fumiko was raising her arm in preparation to slam it down on their teacher. She really was spunky, but Hitoshi didn't think that she would be getting any points like that. Twenty feet of arm blocking Mina's vision did allow him to discreetly secrete a golden ink to coat the ball in. He didn't expect to be able to score a point on his own merit, but this particular blend of ink was quite slippery. Hopefully, that would make it difficult for Mina to get a solid hit on it and force her to hit it out of bounds? The ink wouldn't affect him anyways, so no matter who scored the first point the next server would still have to deal with a slippery ball. That might buy him time to think of a better plan. Hitoshi waited until Fumiko fist was descending, waiting for the perfect moment when Mina's vision would be blocked by the giant fist as much as possible before making his next move. At that point he tossed the ball up stepped forward, jumped, and struck it with as much power as he could, aiming right for the back farthest corner away from where Mina stood. Before he even landed, his hands flew immediately into the seal required for what felt like the best Genjutsu to use at this point. Mina's vision would shatter, and she would see view the world as if looking through a pain of broken glass. Considering how much more powerful and experienced she was it most likely wouldn't cause her more than a moment of disorientation, but that was good enough for Hitoshi. Somir felt a bit of a sympathetic connection with Mina's reasoning for why she became a shinobi. The sentiment wasn't exactly shared, but he did understand the way she felt. Konoha had become Somir's home, and he too wanted to do everything in his power to keep the village safe. His face showed no change of emotion as she mentioned another obstacle after they graduated to Genin. All the same, he wasn't thrilled with the updated terms. Somir followed their sensei out to a training field that had been separated by a net.
"Volleyball?" Somir questioned. Although it may seem as if he was simply confused by the revelation itself, in truth he was confused since.... He didn't know anything about this game. Somir had never had the chance to participate in sports. Before he could share that knowledge with the others, the game had started. Fumiko's arm grew to a size that Somir didn't even know was possible, but Hitoshi was the one who actually performed the serve. Somir, meanwhile, stood to the side, watching the trajectory. He didn't make any preparations himself, but he was ready to spring into what he would assume to be an appropriate action should the ball fly back over the net.

The three of them seemed to take the news as Mina expected. Fumiko would react in a brash manner, and go on the offensive. The Jonin simply watched the girl’s limb expand and swing down upon her. Mina focused chakra around her body, coating herself in a coat of her crimson Seinaru Enjo flame. The cloak surrounded Mina, complete with two cat ears on her head. The embers shifted, forming what looked like a mirage in front of her face in the appearance of cat ears. [Cloak of Divinity B Rank Overwhelming, Glare of the Black Cat B Rank Spiritual] She shifted her feet, moving to the side of the giant arm, holding her own arms up as she moved. Mina gripped Fumiko’s arm with her hands and pulled it down, using her own momentum and size to lock the giant fist into the ground. “I can appreciate the passion.” Mina replied, locking eyes with Fumiko. “But your reckless attitude’s gonna cost you your advantage.” With that, the young redhead nodded to Hitoshi, who was performing a serve in Fumiko’s place. The Akimichi Genin would have her vision filled with a flash of crimson flame, before her vision would go entirely pitch black. [Journey into the Black Darkness Technique C>>B Rank]
Hitoshi’s Genjutsu would find its mark in one of the Mina clones. It was smart, using the cover of Fumiko to catch the redhead in an illusion. But that alone wouldn’t work against Mina. With a push of chakra, she shook off the Genjutsu [Tai-Gen Cross Class: Kai D>>B Rank with Stamina] With her vision cleared, the shinobi could see the ball’s path and she ran to it. Mina hunkered down low, hitting the ball with her forearms and up towards the net. [Impact Deflection E>>A Rank Simple>>Complex] Hitoshi’s ink splattered all over Mina’s arm and, while she was able to receive the ball, it went wide and with far less control. It wasn't a bad move on the Hojo's part.
However, the last Mina clone would be able to make up the difference. She ran and jumped towards the ball. However, as she did, Mina’s body seemed to split into more and more versions of herself. It would be difficult to see which angle she was approaching the ball from. [Radial Split A>>S+ Complex] “If the three of you think you deserve to be shinobi!” Mina brought her arm around, filing her palm with super heated chakra. Her arm appeared to be moving in slow motion, leaving dozens visible after images in its wake, each approaching the ball from different angles as well. “Then you better step up and show me!” She finished by hitting the ball with her hand as hard as she could, propelling it forward with flame and force. [Straight Shot D>>S, Multi Strike S Complex, Explosion S Spiritual]
As she hit the ground, Mina would look at the three of them sternly. “We don’t need shinobi who can’t handle themselves, or think about what it is they’re getting into. You can’t act recklessly, or go off on your own. That’s how people die.” The Jonin placed her hands on her hips and looked at her students. “Shinobi need to be able to find the secrets within the secrets, to stay calm and collected at all times. And it’s my job to find out if you’re ready for that.” It was clear Mina wasn’t budging on her rules of expulsion, despite the whining from Hitoshi or Fumiko. "Otherwise, you're just children trying to play with the grown ups."

This flame offers it's own rank in protection against attacks while enhancing their speed and strength by [1] per rank of the cloak. This technique has an upkeep cost two ranks below it's execution with a minimum cost of 5 chakra. This technique inflicts tiered burns upon those who make physical contact with them. • Flames of Strength: Allow the user to access both paths of the flames ability, propelling themselves as well as throwing those who make physical contact with them the full range of the flame's ability. • Flames of Entropy: All matter making physical contact with the user is disintegrated that is not effected by chakra. This technique replicates the attack used in conjunction with it once per rank with D rank potency, requiring the chakra/stamina cost for the D Rank copies be paid. Requires no additional activation. ▰ Explosion [ Bakuha ] | Rank S | Spiritual | Supplementary The user channels their chakra to the surface of their hands, feet, elbows or knees. This chakra becomes super heated and explosive, staying dormant in the desired body part until physical contact is made. This explosion expands 10 feet outward per rank of the technique, throwing those in it's range to it's furthest limits with concussive force, causing tiered burns and trauma. This is often used to augment the user's taijutsu or basic combat attacks to grant them additional force.

Fumiko's attack did anything but land its mark. Mina stepped out of the way and not only managed to impede her strike but force it inside of the ground as it was stuck in the earth beneath it. She grunted while trying to pull the limb out of the ground as her eyes met with Mina's. A fierce cloak of flames enveloped the woman as a pair of cat's eyes would follow. The Genin blinked and in a flash of light, she covered her face with her sleeves to protect form the light until everything would turn black. "Wh-What's this?" she asked, rubbing her eyes while grunting as she tried to free herself from the ground. "Stupid cat eyed...Grrr..." She was out of commission for a bit while trying to rub her eyes with her free hand. After a few wipes wasn't working, Fumiko would huff and then make a single hand sign, before then a brief pulse of chakra would rid the blindness from her eyes [ Release [ Kai ] | Rank B]. Now thoroughly annoyed, she'd look up to see that woman had spiked the ball near them, diving for cover behind the weird boy.

At E Rank, the limb's weight is equivalent to the user's natural body weight and doubles that each rank above that. The user is able to move the limb normally without drawback. The user may utilize this limb for any taijutsu or basic combat art technique for the current post and may be sustained for two ranks below it's casted cost every two posts if desired.

This is commonly used to release genjutsu but has other purposes. Requires expending chakra in equal rank and potency to the technique being broken. Flooding the brain with chakra completely dispells the hallucinations from enchantment, instance, and chain category genjutsu immediately. The chakra in the brain also mentally focuses the user and reveals the images of illusory category genjutsu as obviously fake but does not completely dispel them because they are outside of the brain but the user is still released from the illusory technique's effects. Multiple genjutsu can be released at once using Kai as long as the appropriate amount of chakra is applied but genjutsu can also be selectively released.

Those within range can have this radiating fearful aura become the trigger for genjutsu, allowing genjutsu to be cast by acknowledging the user. In addition, should an opponent be targeted by a melee technique that is greater in rank than the target's body rank that target has tier two paralysis applied to their legs, requiring it to be broken by Kai equal to the user's body rank, costing the target no action for that specific instance of kai. ▱▰▱ Specialization: → Master of Many: The user sets out to learn all of their class's style available to them in their studies. The user gains access to an additional style every rank for a total of six.

Well that had certainly been an overwhelming failure. Even when attempting to use his partner's attack as a distraction Hitoshi was unable to sneak in a point against their superior opponent. He tried not to feel too bad about that. He was... unsuccessful. If there was anything he was good at though, it was keeping his calm despite that. When someone expected themselves to fail as much as he did, it wasn't much of a disappointment when those very expectations were met.
Still, he wanted to at least appear calm. Hitoshi stepped forward as Mina received the ball, his hands raising into a single hand sign as his cheeks filled with ink. He would be needing it soon, he felt. Mina's next move was impossible to track, which probably would have meant the end of them if this was an actual fight. This was a volleyball match though, and that meant all he needed to worry about was following the ball. Since he'd forced her to do a pretty sloppy receive, the trajectory of the ball itself was far easier to follow than the movements of the woman hitting it. Hitoshi wouldn't have much time to act though. She was fast, which meant she could spike that thing at any moment and he wouldn't even notice it. So he dashed forward past Fumiko, not wanting her to get caught up in what he was about to do. Thankfully, she was already in the middle of jumping back to avoid the meteor that was the volleyball heading towards him by the time he was forming the single hand sign required for his defense. It wasn't working. The ball had slowed down, the flames that propelled it effectively put out by the boiling water, and yet it continued to push forwards against Hitoshi's defense. If he didn't do something soon, then it would push through and likely put him in the hospital as it was headed straight towards his head. Fine, Mina wanted him to show her what he got? He'd shoot that stupid ball back at her face! With the ink he'd previously built up in his mouth, he shot a ball of black ink right at the volleyball as it neared his face. It didn't budge from its trajectory one bit, but the second ball of ink Hitoshi shot at it certainly did, popping it straight up into the air. "Someone ******** get it! The ink won't do anything to you!" Hitoshi shouted, releasing the Corrosive Defense so that one of his allies could hopefully get the ball as he slumped to the ground. Damn it. DAMN IT! He wanted to blow that ball back at Mina, but had only barely managed to prevent it from caving his face in.

It would seem that the Genin on the other side of the net were starting to get their feathers ruffled. Perfect. Mina wanted to back the three of them into a corner and see how they fared once they were caged. Would they flail about, or would they prosper? It was time to find out. Hitoshi managed to knock the ball back over the net, but it was a slow send off. All three Minas lined up at the net, crouching down. “Ready, and…” One would call out, pausing for a second before they each jumped up. They were a little separated, however, and the ball that Hitoshi sent over managed to roll over the top of the net. Mina watched as the ball fell to the ground, hiding a smirk as she turned around.
“Oh maaaaan!” She groaned out as the ball bounced along the ground. “But good job, that’s one point for Hitoshi! Try not to fall behind you two!” She winked at Sohmir and Fumiko. One of her clones tossed the ball back to the Genin. “Serve up, make it count!”

Fumiko fumed at the wink given to her by Mina. She huffed at Hitoshi getting a point while her mind would start formulating a plan for her to get the leeway she needed. Mina was pretty annoying to handle with on her own if her first attack was anything to go off of. She let a huff of exasperation before looking towards both attackers. Mina had that blinding thing and clones but what did they have? Ink, a giant hand and...something else. So the girl thought for a moment as an idea hatched in her mind. She hurried over to Hitoshi and pulled on his arm with her non gigantic hand. "Hey, we're never gunna get anywhere if we fight amongst ourselves. So let's try and double team her." Fumiko said in a low tone so that only the two of them could hear. "I'll go and clear those clones. Focus on getting the ball by Mina and wearing her out." With that, Fumiko awaited Hitoshi to go and serve the ball. Once the ball was airborne, Fumiko would quickly pound the earth off the court, pulling upwards with her giant hand. Before the ball could fly over the net, she'd swing her arm as earthen shrapnel would be fired at the clones playing defensively as well as Mina to deal with.

The palms of Hitoshi's hands slammed down against the ground, catching himself as he fell back is hands. He'd just barely been able to get the ball over the net and neither of his teammates had managed to spike it. There was no way that Mina wasn't going to be able to get it. He was exhausted though. Hitoshi knew that he would be unable to receive that ball if she smashed it back to their side of the court the way she had before. Because he was so certain of that, it came as a surprise when he watched the woman just... let the ball fall to the ground unanswered. Did... did he manage to score?
He snorted, dusting himself off as he stood. Yeah right. He didn't score as much as she allowed him to get a point. Whether it was out of pity or simply to put a target on his back to make them fight amongst themselves though, a point was still a point. Hitoshi just hoped this one wouldn't come back to bite him in the future. 'This is good though,' he thought as he stepped back behind the line, bouncing the ball and taking a deep breath to prepare for his next serve. 'We need to keep her from getting a chance to serve for as long as possible. I can't receive many more heavy hits like those.' Just as he was about to serve, he suddenly felt a tug on his arm. It was Fumiko.
He could only frown confusedly at her statement that they'd never get anywhere by working against each other. Of course she was right. He knew that, but... "I agree. I'd... like for all of us to win, but I guess that isn't possible, huh? I'll just have to try again next year." Despite scoring a point, he still had no confidence that he would be the one with the most points at the end of this. There was no doubt in Hitoshi's mind that Mina had let him score that point for one reason or the other. He was glad that Fumiko was willing to work with him though. He could only hope that the quieter Sohmir felt the same. "I'll do my best." He mumbled to her plan, finally ready to serve after she walked away. His last serve was easily received. That just meant he had to try harder this time, right? As long as he could get the ball past the real Mina while Fumiko kept her clones busy, they could get a point. He could do that.
Bouncing the ball once more, Hitoshi breathed in deep before tossing the ball upwards several feet, much higher than one typically would. Rather than doing a typical jump serve, he launched himself into the air and, when the ball was at its apex, formed a hand sign. The ink he spit out this time was its normal black color, taking the form of a spiral rather than just a simple blob of ink. This would strengthen the effectiveness of his blend. The blend he used was different from last time. Where the one he used before was a slippery blend, this one was sticky in nature. If Mina thought that he was going to use the same trick twice in a row, then she had another thing coming. Even if she did manage to connect with the ball, if she wasn't ready for it to stick to her skin then they'd still get the point. On top of that, he casted a Genjutsu on the woman and her clones, one that would mess with their depth perception. The hastily forged plan wasn't perfect, but it was certainly better than nothing. He finished off the plan by forming some more hand signs, creating five pillars of boiling hot steam on Mina's side of the court. Three pillars were placed right next to the original, blocking her from receiving the ball unless she wanted to experience an incredible amount of pain. The remaining two pillars were placed behind the clones. These pillars are formed around the target, able to contain a up to a ten foot wide area per rank of the technique. Any attempt to pass between the pillars will result in the target receiving scalding tiered burns on the point of contact that blister with tiered corrosion immediately. Techniques within the prison are considered two ranks lower in collision encounters with it. For every post the target(s) stay within the prison they receive one tier of burns as the steam continues to heat the area.

The two of them were starting to work better together. Interesting. One of the Mina clones prepared herself for Fumiko’s incoming swipe by crossing her arms over her head. The Akimichi had size to her advantage, but the redheaded Jonin was still physically stronger. (C>>A Rank Complex Block) The impact cratered the earth around Mina, sinking her and the ground around her by quite a few feet. She thought she’d gotten through the worst of it, but then came Hiroshi’s serve. Once again Mina would send Fumiko’s fist into the ground, sending the giant hand into the earth. At the same time the redhead placed a foot on it to hold it in place while she formed a singular handsign. Immediately the ground beneath Hiroshi and Fumiko began to liquify into a thick, deep swamp made of black mud. (Underworld Swamp A Rank Overwhelming) From within the swamp, the mud would form wolves that would pounce up to the Hojo and Akimichi, sinking mud fangs into their legs to hold them in place. First was the Genjutsu. While strong on it’s own, it was divided between the three Mina’s. As such its power was greatly diminished, causing only a minor double vision and a slight headache. It was the serve itself that would prove tricky. A second clone hunkered down, ready to receive. Her forearms ignited with crimson Seinaru Enjo flames. (Sacred Prayer S Rank Overwhelming) The ball hit her arms, creating a shockwave of flame that evaporated the ink on the ball, while subsequently blowing away the steam prison that surrounded her side of the court. Mina’s own goal would be simple: overwhelm the two Genin absolutely. So as the clone hit the ball into the air, she focused chakra into it. The ball split into dozens of clones of the ball, all flying up. (Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique A Rank)
That was when the real Mina sprang into action. As she jumped to meet the storm of volleyballs, the young woman would seemingly split into clones enough to match the amount of volleyballs. With a yell and an explosion of flames, all of the Mina’s slammed their hands into their targets, sending them careening towards the ground with an explosive impact. As the balls flew they would split even further until they created a hailstorm of volleyballs. As they rocketed towards the two Genin, their straight trajectory would swerve unpredictably with an attempt to hit the ground even if Fumiko and Hiroshi managed to receive. Mina would hit the ground and stare at the two kids with a hand on her hip. Her clones would stand beside her, eyeing Fumiko and Hiroshi down. “I can keep this back and forth going all day if you want.” She said sternly. “You’re clearly not ready. We have demons, gods, and fanatics ready to raid our village at the drop of a hat and we don’t need people playing at being ninja. This isn’t a game, you two.” Mina’s expression softened as she sighed and shook her head. “Give up. Now. And I won’t expel you both. You’ll get to try again next year, no harm no foul. Got it?”

This allows the user to send techniques that have missed their mark to have a second chance at success without repaying the technique. This technique is used two ranks below the parent technique and must pay no less than an E rank amount of chakra.
▰ Explosion [ Bakuha ] | Rank S | Spiritual | Supplementary The user channels their chakra to the surface of their hands, feet, elbows or knees. This chakra becomes super heated and explosive, staying dormant in the desired body part until physical contact is made. This explosion expands 10 feet outward per rank of the technique, throwing those in it's range to it's furthest limits with concussive force, causing tiered burns and trauma. This is often used to augment the user's taijutsu or basic combat attacks to grant them additional force.

▰ Swamp of the Underworld [ Yomi Numa ] | Rank A Overwhelming After forming the required string of hand signs, a vast swamp forms that covers up to a fifty foot area the user targets. Trapped enemies find it hard to move through the thick goop that comprises the surface, reducing anyone within the swamps agility and speed by [2]. The sludge of the swamp negates the Water Walking jutsu within its bounds, and persists for five of the user's posts. By paying an S+ amount of chakra, the user can morph an entire topic into a swamp.
▰ Mud Wolves [ Dororou ] | Rank A Overwhelming This technique requires no activaiton of it's own and is cast along side any technique creating mud that the user knows. When a target stands within the area of mud the user created or is contacted by the user's mud style technique three wolves are formed of the user's original technique. These Mud Wolves pursue targets up to fifty feet away and are granted their own single independent activation. These wolves are capable of using basic combat attacks on targets. If destroyed, these wolves automatically drain the user's chakra at C rank potency to resurrect themselves up to once each. After destroyed a second time, they do not revive.
▰ Sacred Prayer | Rank S Overwhelming (Hiroshi) The user claps their hands together to imitate a prayer as an incoming attack approaches to reflect the attack back at it's source. Channeling chakra outward from their hands, the user projects their flame outward in a sphere surrounding them measuring ten feet in width. Upon contact this engulfs the attack in their flame and treating it as a Korabo attack. This attack has a three post cool down and the returned attack causes tiered burns. • Flames of Strength: The reflected attack carries the concussive knock back effect of the flame. • Flames of Entropy: The reflected attack carries the disintegration property of the flame, applying it to the technique's entire radius, including secondary effects. • Flames of Conductivity: The opponents attack becomes the conducted technique along with the user's flame, lowering it's rank each time it bounces to a new target.
▰ Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique [ Shuriken Kage Bunshin no Jutsu ] | Rank A The user launches a projectile weapon at the target, forming a hand sign as it flies toward them. Upon the act of the hand sign, the weapon splits into one hundred copies of the projectile used that have the same properties as a shadow clone, making them just as damaging as the real weapon. When combating this technique, the opponent's agility stat points are halved.
