Breedings within the Bonelands is currently closed.
The Bonelands is working through a transitionary period of leadership for both OOC and IC. Events are underway and to keep things as smooth as possible, breedings will need to be closed for a short time. Breedings will resume when we are stabilized. We apologize for any inconvenience this announcement may cause. We currently have no estimate of when they will reopen but will do our best to keep everyone apprised of the situation and any changes that may occur. Thank you for your understanding.
- SilverLutz & Quaji
Breeding within the Bonelands is a decision not taken lightly. Depending on the type of breeding you are doing, different IC implications (and consequences) may apply. Some options may require permission to be obtained. Please see the next post for reference.
If you have questions regarding the IC or OOC consequences of your breeding (or any other breeding-related questions), please post them in this thread so others may benefit by seeing it. If you would rather your question be private, please PM this mule.

The Abaholi, and by extension, the Inselele, are the male-leaders of the pride. Proven to the pride, they are the most suitable to father cubs with and carry no negative social consequences. The hardest choice for more lionesses is picking a suitable sire, as well as impressing him.
Ranks for Cubs - Cub/Umzingeli: Female cubs if the Umholi/Inselelo still has their position when the cubs are born. - Lusizi/Umzingeli: Female cubs if the Umholi/Inselelo no longer has their position when the cubs are born. - Lusizi: All male cubs.
Rights to Cubs - Umholi/Inselelo Owners The owner of the Umholi or Inselelo has no right to determine where the cubs go from a breeding. This right is given up when their characters become Umholi or Inselelo. The owner of the mother is free to include them if they would like but has no requirement to.
Note for Credit Breedings Credit breedings are no longer offered in the Bonelands unless privately offered by one of the Umholi/Inselelo owners. These breedings are not beholden to the rules of the Rights to Cubs and have an equal share with the mother's owner.
Remember, breeding your female member to one of the male-leaders is available at all times. The only requirement is that you have the RPs from the member you are attempting to breed. Seeing as PMing the given owners each time and trying to organize that way would be a complete head-ache, we have made this thread for you!
RP Claim: You claim 4 RPs for the male-lion you want in the "available RPs" section below and stake your claim by posting here and then the owner of that lion will RP the final required RP between the male/female lion with you. Alternatively, they can claim 5 RPs if one of those includes the two already.
Claim Expiration: If three months have passed since the last time you put the breeding in, at the beginning of the fourth month, your claim on the RPs will be voided and put back so others may claim them. If this happens, you will have to claim new RPs or credits before continuing attempting your pair. Example: Quaji last attempted a breeding between Bangizwe and Imbali in April. The months of May (1), June (2), and July (3) passed without the couple being entered. In August (4), the RPs would lose their claim and Quaji would need to reapply for them.
Throwbacks: Some breedable males in the Ithambo'hlabathi may have throwbacks listed, or be excluding specific ones in their lineage. If no throwbacks are listed, but the SoA in question does indeed have them, please do not include them without their permission. There is likely a reason they're not listed and are being avoided.
Steps Required
Step One: Have at least 4 of the required breeding RPs done for your female. Step Two: Check the "available RPs" post to make sure the lion you want has four available RPs. Step Three: Fill out the form following and post it in this thread. Step Four: If the owner of the Abaholi/Inselele you request "approves" your post, start the final RP and post the link here so they may respond to it. Once you have finished the final RP, you have everything required. Step Five: Keep your eye out for CC breeding threads and breeding-raffles held by colorists. You are responsible for making sure the form is posted, etc. Step Six: Cubs! Celebrate?

Nkosinhle Played by Quaji Nkosinhle is not available for breeding. IC Reasoning: Very few lionesses are able to grab his attention and affection. He seems very disinterested in procreating, more set upon his duty of defending the pride. OOC Reasoning: He is a god and all of his children will be seers by default. This is not something known to the pride and I do not wish it to be. To prevent an overwhelming amount of seers within the Bonelands, his breedings—if offered—will be done through contests.

This option is always open, provided you have an explanation to justify it ICly. Please be aware of the social consequences your lioness will face if she pursues this option.
Lionesses who find themselves fancying a rogue male may find themselves an outsider in the pride as groups of lionesses may chase her from their groupings as rogue males are considered unproven and a fool's choice of a sire when there are healthy Abaholi available. Some lionesses are more lenient than others, providing the rogue males stay far, far away. If he does not, and the males of the pride do not take their own action, the females might harass him themselves. There are no long-term social repercussions for lionesses involved in flings, but the cubs produced are not viewed as normal citizens and are often not treated the same way.
Ranks for Cubs - Lusizi/Busisa: All female cubs. - Lusizi: All male cubs.
This option is currently closed.
Introduced by Matifu in an effort to curve his lionesses' habitual "cheating", a Rogue Swap is a period of time sanctioned by the Abaholi where lionesses may breed with lions outside of the pride with little to no social repercussions.
Most Rogue Swaps are called for one of two reasons: the bloodlines within the pride are too mixed and there are no males available for a majority of the pride, or the Abaholi cannot provide cubs to the pride but have no reason to be expelled.
Ranks for Cubs - Lusizi/Umzingeli: All female cubs. - Lusizi: All male cubs.
Why are these female cubs able to become Umzingeli and not Busisa? Normally they would all be Busisa, but this is simply because Rogue Swap is an Abaholi-sanctioned event and they give these cubs their blessing. They still aren't treated the same as Abaholi-born cubs, but they're seen much higher than a random fling.
