It feels like it's been a year since I've written anything meaningful, but I wanted to give this a shot!! It's a little dramatic, but I had fun :L
---
I stumble into this world confusion furrowing my brow dizzy with the sense of new The ancients tower before me
They've been here decades longer than I electronic faces worn smooth with the breaking of URLs and the ticking hands of the clock
I wonder if I am too late if this is no longer a place for people like me if the Java Flash errors will render the entire site useless
My attempts at exploration are met with pages untouched since 2008 A lifetime of experiences passed My curiosity wavers under the intimidation
With pixelated dust clouding my vision A ray of light cuts through the gloom and there is a door with a hand outstretched
I am greeted by warmth Smiling avatars Inbox activity A gentle, guiding, clasp of the fingers that says "Welcome. We're happy to have you here." "Here is how to navigate." "We'll answer any questions."
And I said "Thank you."

NSTG Past There's an old saying that the only person that likes change is a wet baby! I have found this to be true, as people tend to hate change & romanticize the past, yearning to go back there & relive it many times. This is true on Gaia, as well! Many have voiced to me that they liked the site much more in the early days and that they miss "the old Gaia." As a Gaian of many years, I do miss Booty Grab, caroling in towns, movies in the theater & throwing popcorn, and sponsorships like Skittles! During those days, there were also fewer announcements and items. But change in life is as inevitable as the rain! And in this age of ever-expanding technology, nothing stays the same! Although the past is a warm memory, it is in the rear view mirror for a reason. We must turn our eyes forward & enjoy the positive aspects of Gaia today! Many items that were out of reach in years past are now able to be purchased and enjoyed! Events like we've just experienced at Halloween and Christmas were super fun and gave free, beautiful items to all who participated! Many wonderful guilds, like this one, are active and ZOMG is back! And then there's all the wonderful Paw items & you can even get married on Gaia these days! So, whether you've hung in there through the changes or returned after a long haitus, Gaia is a wonderful place to be in the present! Hold dear the things you loved about Gaia in the past but add to them all the wonderful things Gaia offers today!
