Some self-indulgent fan art.

zphal_girl87 Really sweet. Maybe I wants one? xd Well, I can't really deny a request from one of the captains, can I? mrgreen @ Damileth - Yeah, I'm very much trying to expose Gaia to art that's something other than the general anime and manga styles from Japan. There's no doubt that it's very good, and I enjoy it very much myself, but people on Gaia need to stop trying to imitate it and go forth in pursuing their own styles. But.... my art rant is something best saved for another day. rolleyes

It is very awesome and I like it. 3nodding
So all you do is use a brush (or wide tipped pen), you scan it into your computer, and use Photoshop to airbrush to color with the opacity set down? It's very clever, and I should try it. biggrin

basically.
I use the Pigma brand (the same guys who make microns) brush pen, then scan it in. I layer a 50% opacity black layer on top, then paint on that, with an in-between layer at 100% for extra colors. The brushes are at about 50% also, but I switch it depending on what I need.
Eep, I just noticed that I missed a spot! gonk

Yeah, it definitely make for a much more surreal kind of vibe, kinda glowy and all that, like a dream. I'm gonna try it for coloring some more definitive lineart to experiment.
