with the amount of violence and unrest on the news this is just a place to voice your honest and peaceful opinions not to be bias but to try to show why you believe in what you believe in don't try to change other people and don't discriminate against certain groups

Politics, io believe Democracy is not what its thought to be, forgive me if i am wrong on some things for i am an amature. But anyways, i believe that democracy is still only ruled by ONe person and the ppl do not have a voice, for example the politicians make the bills, it goes through the government, then voted amongst the people, BUT the bill, the idea, the law is first made from the Politician, and second only the majority of the ppl have the voice and the minority isn't heard of. And i live canada, but i heard even tho most of the seats are occupied by Democrats, and Bush is a Republican, Bush still has the most power. But that the democrats are able to pull troops out of Iraq.

I find in this country it's a little impossible to really be educated about any political issue. I'm assaulted by people from both parties who only want me to believe their side and not the whole story. Everybody tells me that everybody else is lying, so how can I know what's going on? Then I get fussed at for ignoring political issues.

You must do your own research, and come to your own conclusions.
Also, how the heck has this topic been dead for a month and a half?

There are no bad systems: only bad leaders. That being said, I can say in all honesty I vote for the party where the leader seems the most confident. Up here in Canadaland (WHERE WE DO EVERYTHING BETTER WHOOO), we have four main parties: Liberal, Conservative, NDP (democrats) and the Bloc Quebequois. In the previous election, a lot of people went Conservative because "they wanted change" which I think is bullshit. I knew our current PM, Steve Harper, was nuts the minute I laid eyes on him. Then again the rest of the leaders during the previous election were all nuts in some way, so I did the only thing a guy in my situation could do: I voted for the Green Party. Yes, that's right. I voted for a Political Party comprised entirely of crazy-a** environmentalists. And why? Because I wanted to send a message. I'm a voter, and I use that privelege to make myself known. My message is: if you want me to vote for you, change yourselves. Change your policies, make positive progress, and provide me with leaders that DON'T frighten small children. Those of you who practice voter apathy might be saying at this point: "BUT KOJI DON'T YOU KNOW THERES A CONSPIRACY WHERE THE GOVERNMENT DECIDES WHO GETS INTO POWER BEFORE THE VOTERS". I say unto them: PUT DOWN THE CONSPIRACY BOOKS!What universe do you think you're in?!Do you really think every country on Earth is run by godsdamned WISEMEN'S COMMITTEE?!I firmly believe the world will not change unless people make their voices heard in the most non-violent way possible. All of these people who hold book burning parties or throw rocks at synagogues or whatever will only be remembered as crazy assholes with nothing better to do 100 years down the line. If you want the government to listen to you, you need to send a message. Why? Because you're the people who will be supporting them in the future. If they don't dance to YOUR tune, then the empire crumbles. Such is my political stance. Go out there, express yourself, make connections, take time to learn about your government and the people around you. In doing so, grow, and make the country you call home a better place to live.

AerisxCloud Let's face it, this world is run by two things. Money and greedy politicians. That seems true... Power leads to greed, greed corrups minds, and in the end those minds lead countries...

America is overpopulated as it is, and most of the jobs that people born and raised in America need go to people who sneek past the border and work for minimum wage or less. While it is true that this country was founded by immagrants, our anscestors, we have brought laws into place to keep the populations from exploding. Due to the overpopulation of humans in America, many species of animals and much-needed habitat is dissappearing and animals are becomming extinct with some already extinct in the wild. All in all, if they want in, they need to go about it the correct and legal way. Period.

As for politicians passing the bills, they may do this, but we, the people of the United States of America, elect the politicians. We regular citizens have as much power as the reps, or the pres.

King Robert Silvermyst The reason they're getting deported is because they did not come into this country LEGALLY. America is overpopulated as it is, and most of the jobs that people born and raised in America need go to people who sneek past the border and work for minimum wage or less. While it is true that this country was founded by immagrants, our anscestors, we have brought laws into place to keep the populations from exploding. All in all, if they want in, they need to go about it the correct and legal way. Period. The amount of immigrants coming in the country, while definitely a part, is in no way the cause or even a major reason in the loss of habitat and wildlife preserves in the country. We have land developers and business tycoons to thank for that. Essentially, most of our economic infrastructure is reliant upon the labor of illegal immigrants, mostly because actual citizens of the the country, no matter what their socioeconomic status, are generally unwilling to wash dishes, pick strawberries, and other such tasks. It's a sad truth, but a truth nonetheless.

as the great v said "the people should not be afraid of the goverment, the goverment should be afraid of the people" and that is true we dont need things like dicatorship as goverments or monarchys as goverments, democracy is a good idea but it has had bad leaders who degrade the values of the system much like the idea that a few ruin it for the rest of us
