They say clinically depressed people, or even in some cases of brain damage...the presence of dogs showed positive results.
A paralyzed person, the kind that didn't even stare at other people, actually responded to a dog brought into his room by looking at him and even moving a few fingers. Thats pretty good considering this person was almost completely unresponsive prior.

They can detect some kinds of cancer too. I also heard that a dog saved a kid from choking by juming on her chest. Or was it a guy? I dunno. The dog ate the thing she was choking on afterwards though. xd

my pet dogs hate me for some reason. so I don't like them. I prefer cats, because both my doggys are cows the eat any food they see and can reach.

One being cancer, and dogs can also detect epilepsy and other things.

Yeah, plus dogs can sense when someone is about to have a seizure. Some people get dogs just for the purpose of healthcare!
Besides, dogs aide those who are blind too! Some prisons even have programs where the prisoners train the dogs. Just hope they don't train them to help in their escape! <_<
