Okay, i made an arena entry in the avatars and i've had several people tell me they hated it, and that i wasted my gold, and that i was stupid for even putting it up. wtf first, my entered as elphaba from greagory maguire's 'wicked: the life and times of the wicked witch of the west' i think it was an almost perfect cosplay, except i didn't have my avatar green. i put it up DAYS before the tattoos or i would have had a green face tattoo or something. i was appauled at some of the comments. this was my avatar:  any one else have these problems in the arena?

flamers are lamers! I don't waste time knocking people into the pan. I am practicing constructive critics (Ok, not like "...you should get an OMG!"). My comments only tell the people that I like or dislike it andwhat they could do better.

I think it's great, even without the green skin. People are just stupid, I had a perfect cosplay one time (every detail was perfect!) and people don't even read descriptions or anything to see what it is. I would give a 9 if I saw yours in the arena (well, now you would need the green skin if tattoos offer it).

I think the only avatars that deserve flames are the people who just enter the arena to mindlessly beg for money.
I'm fond of the phrase "this is a stylish avatar, but not quite an arena winner" which I use for avatars that look very good (the 5-7 ratings range) but they just don;t have the extra 'oomph' that it takes to really win the prize - my way of saying - this is a nicely styled avatar, there's nothing wrong with it, it simply isn;t what I consider a 'contest winner'

I think there should be a special cosplay arena, which would let people know immdiatly what they're in for. (This wasn't originally my idea, but I cvan't remember whose it was. I think there's a petition.) Then hopefully there wouldn't be as much flaming. Or there would be more... but um, never mind.... but your was definitly good enough for a cosplay arena... If not the regular...

Do you want me to honest with you or lie through my teeth? The arena is a harsh place, and even I know that. Elphaba as much as looks like the character has been done before. I don't want to come off condescending or insulting or anything like that, but it's the truth. I know people who think I make great avatars, but they never make it past the 0 ranking or even the 500 mark (not that that happened on this entry). My point is you have to have a thick skin for the arena, some people will like it, and others will absolutely hate it.

Hun, it's not that deep. All those people are just loosers and have nothing better to do. I used to enter alot in the art arena, and then I realized how funny it is that people bash orginality all the time. And I didn't quite understand how someone desided to put it as there responsibility as to deside what I drew. Or if not that I got bashed for not using graphics. SInce I guess now a days somethings not real art until you use the computer to make something look better. So don't worry what people say in the Arenas. It'll make your IQ gho down.
