I went to my boyfriend's senior prom on Saturday. We went to a place called Red Ginger for dinner. We wanted to try something new, and the restaurant was really close to where prom was being held. I didn't know what to expect as I'd never been in before. O_o
Turns out it was one of those uber-trendy places..really "modern" and "clean" and "minimalist" decor.
We had to wait almost ten minutes for a table even though the place was half empty, and the table they put us at was empty when we walked in. >.>
The lady who seated us looked like a Stepford wife. O_o;; Our table was small and square. There was a single small candle lit, cloth napkins folded on their own dishes (?), to the left two forks (oddly square) and a spoon (which looked more like a tiny shovel). To the right a set of bright red chopsticks...also oddly rectangular, and on their own little "tray." The lights were even square. It all look interesting. Oh, and the salt and pepper shakers were square too. The pepper shaker only had one tiny hole in one of its corners to dispense pepper. xD The salt shaker had three...
The menu had that day's date on it, so I figured it was probably like the place we went to last year, and had new ingredients and options everyday. That always makes it more expensive. O_o But these prices seemed a tad ridiculous. It was actually a sushi bar that also served Thai, Chinese, and Japanese cuisine. Oz ordered yakitori for an appetizer, which was six dollars...and then the chicken he ordered was sixteen dollars. I ordered Chinese Long Life Noodles with tofu. Twenty-two dollars. O_o We were really worried this was one of those arrogant restaurants you see in big major cities that charge you a lot for not much food.
And yea, it kinda was. xD I mean, it was enough to fill me up. But I was expecting a bit more food for what we paid. At least it tasted good. And afterward we went to Coldstone for dessert. :d Tasty.
