"I cannot quell Authion's rage towards the Drow. I can try, but he has returned to his guards sent to watch the girl. Do not kill him this time, a closer eye will be kept on him afterward." The general said before waving Fid off, knowing he'd probably take off anyway after heard Authion had returned to Maya's room.
Maya gripped Authion's hand tightly, begging to feel lightheaded from the lack of oxygen. She heard Authion laugh and then she fell to the floor, having been dropped. Maya coughed hard for a few seconds, trying to catch her breath once more. "I've done nothing. Just like I've done nothing to you. But you seem bent on taking out all your anger towards my kin on me." Maya growled, rubbing her neck lightly.
"And that still doesn't answer why you're here." Authion hissed, grabbing her by the chin rather hard, forcing her to look at him.
"I'm here because I do not wish to live with my own kind. That should be enough for now." Maya growled in return, punching Authion hard across the face now.
He grinned and two guards walked over, holding Maya's arms behind her back and keeping her still. Authion punched her hard in the stomach a few times before finally punching her where she'd been shot. After hearing her finally cry out in pain, he stopped and the guards let her go.
Maya crumpled to her knees, her arms wrapped around her stomach as she heard everyone leave the room, the Drow just sitting there shaking lightly. She knew coming to the surface would be hard, but at this rate she began to wonder if she'd even survive it.

"Thank you General." Fid really liked him. He knew Fid was going to beat the crap out of Authion if he layed a hand on Maya. Rushing back, he worried again. He needed to stop. Maya was a big girl. Then again, nothing would stop him from worrying.
He ran passed a smug looking Authion and instantly scowled. What had that snide Elf done? Turning into the room, he knocked away the guards trying to take his weapons. He growled as soon as he saw Maya. "Maya! Are you OK?" He crouched next to her and put her arm around his neck, picking her up. Setting her gently on the bed, he looked into her eyes.

Pain could be seen in the Drow's silver eyes for a brief second, though she quickly pushed her pain aside, her eyes seeming as though nothing was wrong now. "I'm fine." She lied, giving Fid a small smile. She held a hand over her wound, feeling a little blood begin to trickle once more.

Fidelius smiled at her. "Your a poor liar. I suppose it's a good thing your strong. If you hit back you would have died." He hugged her gently before getting the salve out again. He began to change her bandages.

"I did hit him..." Maya said quietly, staring at her feet in front of her. She blushed as he hugged her, but kept her gaze on the floor. "I'm not used to males trying to scare me and make me feel helpless. So I hit him. If I had my scimitars I might've killed him out of instinct." She said absent-mindedly. It was the truth after all. She could have killed him before she realized what she was doing. He was trying to dominate her and scare her like any other surface elf, but for the last 97 years, Maya had been taught to quickly put any male in his place by any means necessary.

"Don't worry, the General is a sensible man and he said he would watch Authion closer. And when I'm not on patrol, I am here with you." He put on new bandaging and kissed his fingers. Pressing his fingers lightly on the bandage, he smiled again. "You hungry for anything?"

"I don't know what exactly there is to eat on the surface, so if you pick something, that's fine. But I am a little hungry." Maya murmured She pulled a leg up to her chest, only to get there about halfway before the skirt of her dress caught her leg. The Drow sighed, putting her leg back down now. "I don't understand how Elf females put up with this. I want my clothes back..." She muttered, staring up at the ceiling now.

Fid Frowned and drew his sword. He really hadn't noticed the dress until then. "Not all of our women are warriors or work particularly hard. Many wear dresses. They also don't bring their legs to their chest." He cut small slits up the sides of her dress to add some kind of movement. He thought she was really pretty in the dress, but she didn't like it. He would have to find her substitute clothing. knocking on the door, he called for the guards. "Send for two bowls od stew, some bread, and fruit." That should slate her hunger. One of the bowls was for him though.

"Doesn't seem to make much sense to me." Maya said with a shrug, sitting still as he cut the dress. It was a little easier to move now, and she smiled to him in thanks. "Then again I usually wore a metal bustier and just some cloth around my waist..." She murmured to herself as she thought about it for a moment. "So what do your people do then?" She asked, now seeming curious since women didn't seem to fight.

"Well. From what I gather, Drow have slaves, right?" He sat on the bed next to her, leaning back and staring at the ceiling. "Well, men build buildings and farm, women teach and look after the home. Usually. Most of us don't have slaves. We pay aids sometimes, but that is it." He shrugged at her. That was the best description he could give her unless she asked questions.

"So pretty much you all do what my people would consider slave work?" She asked, pulling her leg up to her chest now to rest her chin on her knee. "Of course, daughters raise their siblings. Nobility anyway. I was raised by my elder sister until I was sixteen. And I raised a sister and brother until they were sixteen. After that they were sent off to the weapons master for a few years to learn how to fight, then went to their respective schools." She murmured, reflecting on her home life a little. "So you were raised by your parents?" She asked, not really able to process the concept for some reason.

He listened intently as she spoke. But as she asked how he was raised, his attention to the ceiling increased. "No. I never knew them. I was raised by my mother's village. I learned how to read, write, and I learned my math. Wghen I became a teenager, I was learning how to hunt and to farm. When I became a man I chose to learn the way of steel, the way of the blade." He sighed and shook his head. "I came to the Elves to learn, but he had passed on. They choose not to tell me and I find that it was a good choice. I would rather not know how he died."

"I apologize and am sorry for your loss. I understand that relationships on the surface are much more meaningful and rewarding than they are in the underdark." Maya told him, her face softening. "At least they cared enough to take care of you." She murmured. Orphans in the underdark would usually be used as some sort of training exercise. "Do you at least enjoy living here?" She asked, laying her head on her knee so she could look back at him, her silver eyes seeming to pierce right through him.

"Don't be sorry. He died before the Drow came and even then you should not be sorry for them. As for your question, Sort of. If it was peaceful, and I didn't have to deal with Authion, yes, I would live here. Otherwise, I miss home. When I lived with the humans and farmed." He looked at her and shook his head. "Sorry. I shouldn't be so selfish. You lived with much worse."

"I've survived it." Maya said with a shrug. "It wasn't easy, but I learned how to stay alive. And I learned that my people are fueled by the lies that have been passed down over the years. Anyway, what do you wish to know of me and my family? I know that your elders are curious." She said, still keeping her gaze on him.
