Gwynfair Cadoc Darryn Idris

Such a beautiful night for a masquerade. The sisters were dressed in fine dresses. Gwynfair is a dark purple gown, and Idris in a more lavender colored one. Their brothers were certain to be on their way to the tent soon. They would have escorted their sisters, if they hadn't just had a long day of flying competitions. Gwynfair had demanded that they quickly apparate home to Castle Aur to take a shower. They were far too smelly and disgusting looking to take part in a masquerade.

The sisters had just entered the tent and started socializing with the people when a large crack sounded. Gwynfair's eyes immediately searched for the source of the ungodly interruption. She saw masked and cloaked individuals shooting spells everywhere. Butterflies formed in her stomach as she pulled out her wand. How wrong she was to not want aurors to be with her while she was at the circus. How wrong indeed.

"Protego!" Idris cast as she made sure to get as close as possible to her sister. There were no aurors, no protection detail near her sister. She was the only other person close enough to qualify for the job. Sure, she could have just transfigured herself and flown away, but Idris knew that she had to protect her sister. She was the Minister for Magic! And for that reason, Idris knew that her sister would not just abandon the circus.

Meanwhile, Cadoc and Darryn had just returned from getting ready for the masquerade when they saw the group of dark wizards appear. Both had a terrible feeling. "Gwyn! Idris!" Cadoc shouted as he started running through the crowd making sure to evade the curses that were being cast all around him. The eldest brother saw his sisters being approached by one of the cloaked people. Taking out his wand, he charged at the person. "Stupefy!" he cast, sending the assailant away from his sisters.

"Where's Dare?" Gwynfair asked as soon as she saw her brother had come to their rescue. Could she have thanked him? Yes, but he was her brother. He was expected to do that. Besides, there wasn't a lot of time for chivalry. This was a battle, no longer a masquerade. Gwynfair was the oldest, she needed to know where her family was. "Cadoc! Where is he!"

As it so happened, Darryn was across the tent where his brother had left him cornered by two of the cloaked people. His wand was in his hands, but that didn't make him feel any better. He was terrible at curses. Before he could think, one of them cast a curse at him, and it hit him. Had the curse been anything different, perhaps the young man would not be screaming out in pain as the blood poured out of the serious wounds that the curse had caused. Oh, where were his siblings to help him now?

Nicole threw a bombarda of her own towards a masked figure before turning towards her unmasked gentleman and keeping her surprise to just the widening of her eyes. She had been dancing with her ex-boss!? Calming herself she copied him by throwing her own mask off and firing another. "Duro! she cast towards another heading towards a group of young ones. "Will do, try to keep safe yourself sir." she called out before going back into the fray.

I settled down a twisted up frown
Disguised as a
smile, well

You would have never known
I had it all
But, not what I wanted
'cause hope for me was a place uncharted and overgrown

He could hear her, her cry of pain. But he couldn’t look back, he wouldn’t stop. His hand felt numb entangled around her frozen fingers. Sweat poured down his brow and the bitter salt stung his eyes. He could barely see! The darkness was only lit by the fire and cry of spells that shook overhead. His piercing blue eyes lurched over his shoulder, just to reassure himself that Gracie was still here. He still had her. A burst of red light beamed just past them. If she hadn’t pulled him back-! He froze, staring at the scorched remnants of where the spell had plowed through, and sent a body crumpling to the floor.

He choked, coughed on the black smoke as he struggled to see. Fear cradled his heart, crippled him. Elbows knocked back and forth, he could feel the bone of it beat into his shoulder, knock into his side as people crawled on top of each other to escape. Grace had pointed out Belle through the crowd, and he fought to get them towards her. Something cut through his flesh, he could feel the blood dripping down his arm making his hand that clutched her slick and sticky. A powerful force enveloped in his chest, and he could almost feel the choked sobs in the back of Grace’s throat. He didn’t know what to do. Heavy arms wrapped around her, cradled her close and tucked her head into his shoulders as he stared up at his cousin, wide-eyed and teary.
”Hurry!” He demanded at once. He blinked away the tears, and she was gone, knocked down and lost in the fray. He stood in the middle of it all, clinging to Grace, blue eyes searched and searched and searched. Before he knew it, a hand sprung up from the darkness and seized a hold of the couple before apparating to the safety of her fathers house in Dunstable.

Well I woke up to the sound of silence
And cries were cutting like knives in a fist fight
And I found you with a bottle of wine
Your head in the curtains
And heart like the Fourth of July

Tobi was grabbed suddenly by unseen hands and nearly sent a spell of his own when he saw that it was only Myfina. He sighed in relief before she pulled them along towards Andi and began pulling them further. He watched as she fired spell after spell towards their attackers and felt his respect rise for the mother. Heat burned at the back of his neck as he turned to see another attacker firing spells at them. When one got to close to the family for comfort he grabbed his wand from his pocket and screamed the first spell that came to mind. "DUCKLIFORS!" and watched with fascinated and morbid amusement as the man was transformed into a duck. Feeling satisfied he continued running with the family praying for a way out.

If you're lost and alone
Or you're sinking like a stone
Carry on
May your past be the sound
Of your feet upon the ground
Carry on

Carry on, carry on

And as you step back into line. A mob jumps to their feetஐ
Now dance, dance Man, he never had a chance

Michelle forced herself to not roll her eyes at the chuckle he answered with. She let him lead her through a dance, staring curiously at him but not saying a word. As he spun her around and she found her back pressed to his chest, a smirk crawled onto his lips. He was taking her challenge to heart it seemed, and she had been right. It was rather amusing. Moments later she was spun back around and was much closer to the masked man than before. She blinked up at him, silver eyes watching him. Just who did he think he was to have such confidence. She was sure he knew she could easily hurt him without a second thought.... he knew her. He knew her well, and she knew nothing about him. She didn't like it. She honestly hated it. It made her feel open and vulnerable. Something she was not and never would be.

"Who says I don't have enjoyable moments?" She asked, her smirk crawling on her lips as if this whole event was just another amusement to pass her time with. To be truthful though, dancing with the prat was kinda fun and it gave her a chance to examine up close. Thankfully he moved back a bit and she let herself relax slightly. A tiny yelp of surprise left her lips as he dipped her down to the ground. Her eyes narrowed at him as he kissed her hand. Maybe even what?

She would never know as a crack split the air and wizards appeared everywhere. Masked wizards? Seriously? How unoriginal could they get? She rolled her eyes and immediately pale hands were pulling her mask off and kicking her heels off. She could easily fight in heels or anything else for that matter, but barefoot was always her way to go. If she didn't have to wear shoes she wouldn't. The smirk on her face still showed amusement as the White Fox.... Dante ordered her around. Silly man. She'd do what she did best.... and kill whoever got in her way. She ghosted off into the crowd of chaos, easily avoiding the men and women running and screaming. Bare feet slid through a puddle of blood, and the Slytherin glanced down to see a poor child lying dead on the floor.

"Hm...."She muttered, pushing the dead body away with her foot and flicking her hand up as a spell was cast in her direction. "Protego." The shield formed just in time to deflect the spell to another part of the tent. Silver eyes stared at the masked man who was staring her down. Before he could fire off another spell a smirk crawled onto her lips and she watched the man take a step back as if scared. She supposed it was a bit surprising to see a 15 year old girl utterly unafraid of a bunch of wizards trying to kill her... while standing in a pool of blood belonging to a dead child. "Incendio." Her fingers snapped together and then she spun around to continue on her way. A laugh danced past her lips as she listened to the screams of the man as he burned to death.

Chaos danced around her, but she just watched it all with cold silver eyes. She expected Chris to watch over Ada. She wouldn't be able to find the two in this crowd anyways... and she couldn't just walk away from the chaos. It was much to fun. She saw a spell headed towards her and ducked to the side, letting whoever was running behind her get slashed with it. Blood spattered across her, and she watched the man fall before flicking her wrist towards the attacker. "Aurumflamma!"Golden fire shot from her fingers and the attacker fled before he burnt like the other one she had attacked. He didn't go far though, she backed out of range of her fire. His wand was still raised and pointed straight at her. She bit back a cry of pain as a spell cut through her arm, sending more blood spilling down her arm. This time her own.

She heard another spell being fired at her from behind just as another attacked threw a spell at her from the front. She flicked one hand towards the front shouting another spell as her other hand pulled the mahogany wand from her hair and she cast fire at the attacker behind her. White hair cascaded down her back as it was released with the drawing of her wand. She ducked under the waving arm of a man as he fled and flicked her wand up to deflect a spell from a bunch of kids staring at a masked wizard in fear. To most it would seem she was wandering the burning tent randomly, but she knew exactly who she was looking for, and she knew he'd be here somewhere.

He never was to far when chaos was afoot.

With a thousand lies, and a good disguiseஐ
Hit ‘em right between the eyesஐ
When you walk away, nothing more to sayஐ
See the lightning in your eyes. See ‘em running for their lives

Heather smiled and nodded at him. He knew who she was. Great! Now at least she had someone to talk to, and maybe she could persuade him onto the dance floor... or not. A loud crack filled the air, slicing through the music like it was nothing as masked and hooded figures appeared. Party crashers? They began firing off spells, leaving everyone in the tent to panic. "Chase! Move it!" the blonde exclaimed, shoving her boyfriend out of the way of an incoming spell. A simple Incendio lit up the ground at her feet, catching her ballgown on fire. What was it with her and getting caught on fire? "Ugh! This is why I can't have nice things!" With a flick of her wrist, her wand slipped out of her glove and into her hand. One could never be too careful, right? "Diffindo!" The Severing Charm was cast and the flaming gown was sliced, now at an uneven length, reaching the girl's knee at one point and her calf at another. Heather turned back to her boyfriend, the light from the curses being thrown gleaming in her eyes. "Chase, I've gotta go. If I don't make it out of here alive, just know that... I love you." The teen wrapped her arms around the Ravenclaw, and planted a kiss right on his lips, before turning and running deeper into the crowd. No one could ruin her night (and her dress!) without getting a serious butt kicking.

Flashes of light lit up the room as Heather ran across the floor. At some point, she had kicked off her heels and lost them in the flames. Her blonde hair fell from it's position on top of her head, now streaming out behind her and occasionally falling against her shoulders. "Protego!" she called, casting a shield around herself. Coming to a halt, the teen came face to face with one of the masked figures. She couldn't tell if he was glaring at her or smiling at her, because his mask covered his entire face. "Where do you think you're going, little girl?" the voice from behind the mask hissed, raising his wand and throwing a random hex at her. "Deflexo Cantatrix!" Heather was no pushover when it came to dueling. Sure, she hadn't actually won one... but she could still hold her own. "I'm going to kick some butt, particularly yours, for crashing a party you weren't invited to." She was done with crazy people ruining her summers. "Ha! You think you can best me, girl? Give me your all then!"

Heather wasn't quite as ready this time. The masked figure cast a simple Flipendo, sending her flying backwards. She landed on the hard ground, her head hitting the floor with a loud thud. She didn't let that stop her though. She was back on her feet within a few moments, her wand grasped tightly in her right hand. "Obscuro!" And just like that, her foe was blindfolded. Heather smirked. She had the upper hand now. "Dammit! You troublesome girl! Expulso!" he screamed, casting the spell but missing. In the distance, a portion of the wall of the tent blew up. "Stupefy!" Heather flicked her wand at the masked figure, stunning him. As he fell to the ground, frozen, she leaned over him to speak. "Give it my all, you said? Well, I brought it." The stunned man said nothing, did nothing, as Heather ran off again, heading further into the panicking crowd.

Swiftly, a mahogany wand waved and cast the disillusionment charm, and that wand was the last of him that was to be seen. He stood like a ghoul in the background, a shadow of death. Careful eyes had sought for careful details, an endless vigil to take, or perhaps not? The unmistaken acrobatics that only one fox he knew had been trained in sought to douse the fire with his own barrage of magic. A tilted head, and Tay watched him. He’d never seen that mask or that robe; he’d never seen his old enemy like this, and, if he hadn’t known better, he might have thought he was going insane.

In the middle of all of the chaos, he remained still, and only he. His motions were slow as he plucked a cigarette from a pack in his robe pocket and brought it to his lips. If there was smoke to be had, let it be smoke worth breathing, at least.

Flicking ash to the side, his golden sights trained on a lunar gleam. Her silver hair shone in the midst of all the red; in fire and blood. She lurched, from one opponent to the next. A ghost of a smile flickered on his lips for no one to see. She was searching, and he wondered who for. With the flick of his wand, he dropped his disillusionment charm in time for his static eyes to cross hers. The world seemed to be racing, speeding, while he was stuck frozen in time. By now, most of the crowd was gone, fallen to the floor or disappeared, except for those left standing who still fought.

But he wasn’t one of those people. He'd wait for her to finish her gallantry, if it could be called that.

                                                    He’d be here waiting.

The tent was starting to look more like a battle field then a place of fun and joy. Bodies lay on the floor, some were couples together and some that had gotten separated in the chaos. Those left were fighting the dark wizards off, actually a good deal of people were around fighting them off now, and they were doing a decent job at it as well. Still the many dead had the White Fox not feeling so cheerful anymore, but he still held his style of taunting combat over the enemy.

"Hey Troll face, you're not really good at this are you?" The dark wizard fired a curse in anger but had no aim through his rage filled eyes.

The White Fox moved away and slammed his staff across the dark wizards face sending him to the ground. Another spin and a vanish with a pop across the room had the white masked wizard finishing his spin and slamming his staff hard into another villains gut. Several more spell came his way, the first White Fox was forced to jump back and bring his staff up to call the shielding charm once again. The horde of dark wizards were starting to better organize against those still standing their ground, they had the numbers to out flank everyone if they wanted to. More spells came on and The White Fox performed a series of back flips to gain and cartwheels with his staff to get out of the way. He was being put on the defensive and that was not good.

There was more going on here then he could handle with his small bag of tricks. His staff would only work so well against the mass of dark wizards that kept coming in. The more they organized the less he could be effective in such a large scale battle like this. As much as he hated to admit it, he needed to pull out and bring in others who could deal with this situation better. There were people who needed to be looked after and people who needed help getting out. He could check on them as he went to get the person needed for this situation. With that he vanished and did not reappear in the tent amongst the rolling chaos and the screams of battle.

want you all to myself. Make me feel

Darius nodded and started to dance with Ver, badly at first and nearly crashing into another pare of dances but he was starting to get it. He could now understand the appeal of slow dancing. Being so close to someone you love felt so nice. To bad it was not meant to last

A group of dark wizards came into the tent and spells came flying every which way. Darius instinctively moved Ver behind him."Run!"He told her as he reached for his wand looking ready to join the fight. Hell even if he did not have his wand he'd be this way, it was easy to see himself trying to fist fight a dark wizard but his loves safety came first. He already saw his sister get hurt this year, he could not live with himself if Ver got hurt.

                                                          OOC: ...

I'm under the gun, you're the only one.I just can't decide what I'm running from.
                                                          This isn't what I
wanted, but I can't keep my filthy

Michelle padded calmly through the chaos, splashing through pools of blood and stepping over bodies. She hadn't found him yet... but she knew he was here. She ducked her head slightly as a spell ricocheted over her and then she flicked her hand sideways. "Flipendo. The masked stranger who had shot the spell at her went flying back, crashing in to a few people still running for their lives. It seemed everywhere she turned it was masked wizards and bodies. Those still alive were either gone from the tent, or fighting. She twirled her wand between her fingers, glad for the ease of wandless magic.

Silver eyes flickered around the tent.... or what was left of the tent, once more. They were badly outnumbered, but the masked wizards didn't know what they had coming. Silver met gold as she finally found him, casually standing back and watching the chaos. She tilted her head with a small smirk. She was distracted enough that she almost didn't notice the spell coming straight for her. Almost. In the nick of time, she flipped her wand up and cast a shield to protect herself, before with a snap of her fingers a muttered word that attacker was on fire as well. She side-stepped the burning man and ducked through a few flailing limbs as people ran for the exits, before hopping over a body and landing with a small splash in a pool of blood right infront of him.

"Here you are in the middle of chaos.... why am I not surprised?" She asked, silver trailing over him curiously. He wasn't hurt and besides a few cuts she wasn't either.... although by all the blood now covering her skin, and splattered across her dress and face, you wouldn't know it.

With a thousand lies, and a good disguiseஐ
Hit ‘em right between the eyesஐ
When you walk away, nothing more to sayஐ
See the lightning in your eyes. See ‘em running for their lives

Elli wrapped her hand in Cam's and let him drag her through the tent. As they neared the exit, she saw dark wizards coming towards them from the outside too. She screamed and tugged Cam backwards right before a spell hit him. Not seconds later, a crack was heard and her father appeared in front of her. The wizard that had been attacking her fell to the ground without a word spoken by him. "Daddy?" She asked, looking up at him in fear. His strong hand clasped around her shoulder in comfort.

"I was only coming to check up on you and tell you to come home by midnight.... how did all of this happen? Where are your sisters and Gracie?" Elli shrugged at her father and looked around at the chaos. She screamed again as 2 wizards came at them, but they once again fell down with a point of her father's wand. She wasn't sure if he was killing them or just stunning them. Either way he was keeping her and Cameron safe.

"I don't know dad. Ver was right near us before all this.... and God knows where Michelle or Gracie are! " He growled low in his throat and motioned for them to stick near him as he waded through the crowd, knocking down masked figures as they came at him. Before long they had reached a frantic Verily and angry Darius.

It all happened in slow motion to her. They were dancing and then there was noise and pain and Darius was telling her to run. She glanced down at her arm to find blood pouring from a wound and gulped. Dare didn't look like he was going everywhere and she quickly grabbed onto him before she was dragged away by the crowd moving around them. If he wasn't going anywhere neither was she. "Dare! We have to go! You can't fight them!" She was saying all of this in a high pitched and obviously stressed out voice. She was utterly starting to freak out. She felt tears well up in her eyes and she quickly clung to him her arms around his waist as he protected her from the bad guys.

                                                        "Verily! Darius!"

As the blonde was starting to enjoy herself with some snacks and refreshments, a loud booming noise was heard. Not a moment later, everyone began running around and screaming. Amanda turned around vigorously to see what had been happening. Great, the one time I actually dress like a girl, this happens. Oddly, that was the first thought to process through the girl's mind. Her eyes glazed over to Eretria as she drew her wand, getting ready to whoop some masked figures' arses. Somehow, Amanda was able to keep herself quite calm through all the chaos. When she looked back up, a wand had been pointed straight towards her face. She pointed her wand towards the cloaked man and shouted, "Deflexo Cantatrix!" Before the spell could hit her, it had been backfired. The masked man was sent flying backwards which caused him to lie unconscious. Either that or dead. Amanda brushed off the incident which just happened and turned to her friend. "We should get out of here!" she suggested, pulling Eretria lightly, so the two girls could get out of the tent safely.

So what am I not supposed to have an opinion
Should I be quiet just because I'm a woman
Call me a b***h cos I speak what's on my mind
Guess it's easier for you to swallow if I sat and smiled

Eretria had been enjoying herself at the ball, at least hanging out with Amanda and chatting. The two didn't get to do that much outside of school, and this seemed like a good place to do it as any. However, when a spell exploded near her, she stopped cold. Slowly she turned, her gaze livid and cold as she regarded the scene around her. Really. Really? Some ruddy stupid idiot was throwing curses? She amended that statement in her head. Ruddy idiots! She threw her mask off, fury etched into every line on her body. This will not end well for the interlopers, that was for sure. "Deflexo Cantatrix!" The spell aimed at her backfired and the Slytherin smirked. Oh, this was going to be fun. She'd never had a chance to fully uncork before, and this was the perfect opportunity. She almost pitied the arsehats that were here. they would regret their lapse in judgement soon.

"Expilus Protinam!" She smirked as one of the masked men lost his scalp and fell to the ground, screaming. She stepped forward, smirking as she cast another spell at another, this time a disarming spell. Then she found Amanda pulling on her arm. Eretria blinked a bit, processing what her friend said. Then a cold, cruel smile crossed her features and she shook her head. "They interrupted the party. They should pay for that." She flicked out another spell, this time a shielding charm and cast a Reducto at another masked individual. The resulting crash caused the girl to hum in appreciation. Good, that should teach that fool not to mess with her.

William, looked around frantically, finding his brother within seconds. "Jayden, there you are! We gotta get out of here," he said, looking at his brother. But his brother only shook his head.

"We are stronger than we both think we are. We need to help Will. We have too," Jayden said, wielding his wand in his hand. It all came down to this, all of their schooling. They missed a year, but they never missed a beat. They studied over that time to recover what they may have missed.

"Alright, Jayden, if we die today, know that you are my best friend. It's been a great run if it ends here," William said to Jayden, giving a bro hug to the other. Jayden just nodded. "I'll block, you send the offensive spells,".

"Anteoculatia," he said aloud, producing antlers to the foe, laughing a bit. And when William gave him that look and just raised his hands. "I'm sorry I had to do it. Come on, that's funny. Look at him, he's a deer man! Hey Rudolph, come and get me. Yeah, I gave you antlers: what are you going to do about it?" he taunted to the lackey, as he shot out a incendio flame at Jayden.

"Aguamenti," William yelled out, extinguishing the flame with the water jet spell.

"Expelliarmus!" Jayden yelled out, using the cover of steam from the water to knock the man's wand out of his hand. He was free. "Flipendo!" He knocked the wizard on his back.

"Protego!" he said, blocking an oncoming attack from behind. He did not know how he saw it, but he did. Jayden just looked at him, surprised he caught that. "Having a dueler as a Fiance really helps ya know."
