They were up in the air easily enough and over to fight thread. A'dras eyes moved over his wing before focusing on the enemy before them. They were beginning into the thick of things when a flash of worry shot through Gareth. A blue was darting in and out, too close to thread, especially for the pairs comfort. Gareth.. The bronze didn't even need telling, sending his thoughts to the blue, an irritation flickering in his whirling eyes and then...they missed it.

A clump of thread fell from the sky past them, Gareth wasn't able to get it, too focused upon chewing out the blue rider and A'dras exclaim only brought the dragons attention back to it, but it was too late. A'dras could only watch as his focus slipped and caused the Thread to connect with Dormith and W'dre. The wingleader made a mental note to buy the man a drink after this.

A nearby wingmate winds up taking the hit -- as they were busy flaming a different clump of Thread and hadn't time to notice. Quote a Single Wingmate and have them lose -5 HP!

V'tre of Green Thanoth

While V'tre felt some guilt seeing his fellow weyrlings rise higher up on launch than he and Thanoth, he, like any rider, found his priorities on keeping his green safe. Down here things would move a bit slower, be a bit more in hand...and even when a few wisps of thread fell into view, it was nothing to blast them away.

Then again, his first tryst with thread had also started just as swimmingly, hadn't it?

Gwyllinth shifted noticing that a pair was going to collide. He called, screaming out a warning hoping his fellow blue listened and got out in time. Had he.. yes.

He huffed, irritation thrumming in his throat.

Shyn'ar pat his dragon's neck, calming him. "It is good Gwyllinth, you fixed it, now lets focus on our duty."

First roll - 3
Second roll -7 -You notice that one of your wingmates is in trouble. Look out! Your dragon screams warning, and you watch as they successfully dodge catastrophe. Quote a Wingmate who took damage to Nullify Damage for that post! The quoted wingmate can remove that damage, unless they have already returned to the Weyr for healing or are already playing out a KO'd scenario.

After jumping back Zeath and M'aze were ready to go...for a moment. The biting cold of Between and a sudden gust of wind had them straining to stay with the Wing, but a moment too long of struggling had Zeath sagging into the wind and the two were blown back and down towards the forest beneath them. M'aze urged Zeath to relax, to go with the gust, that they'd make it back up to the wing, but the bronze's head was bobbing low and slow against the wind.

Easy, there, easy...we'll get back up in fighting form, M'aze said, gazing up at their wing. It would take a moment to get back up there but he wasn't going to push Zeath now.

Roll 1: You keep looking up, but nothing seems to be heading your way. Your neck is starting to object, but it doesn't matter. You must be ever vigilant, or so the saying goes. The Queen's Wing is an important position, but it sure can be boring... Part of you wishes you could be higher up, where all the action is. Part of you is grateful you're safer down here.

Elzebuth exhaled noisily, sending back affection to Menankith and Uridith in waves. Though he hated to admit it, it would be nice, knowing that his mother would be watching over His. He did not need looking out for, of course!

I am fine, dear brother. No Queen will be harmed while I am here. He projected lazy confidence towards Macuith, as though being here had been his plan all along. And who was to say it was not? Still, he was paying special attention to his rider, making sure he didn't strain himself with his actions....

When Aresoth spoke, the big brown tried his best not to bristle. I will show you what I can do, then. Elzebuth responded after acknowledgment from G'ran... and some urging to be as polite as possible.

Round 1, Roll 1

TSUNAMI WING! You know your formations! You have been drilling for this moment. Know that me and mine believe in you, and have your back! Do not hesitate to call upon us in need! Fenrith of Wingsecond Illa called out to his wingmates, wheeling in the air as thread licked at his wingsails. But the thread, though it twinged, could not take down the might of the Red Star's Bane! The pair winked between before returning, bugling, and flaming their defiance against their ancient foe!

Fenrith, eyes up, look for anyone who might need our aid, the fierce Brownrider told her dragon, whose great wings were spread to their fullest extent so that they might better catch thermals. From their place below the high altitude wing, they could see any White, Green, or Blue dragons that might be in peril.

BURNING ACES WING
=Flying First Wave=
V'rind of Blue Krahsujunth
Round 1-1
Roll 17: - Your dragon is effortlessly flaming Thread. Honestly, they almost seem to make it look easy. Both you and your dragon start to feel more confident, and even start to get a bit cocky. Low Altitude Wing was always the easiest wing to fly. Unfortunately for you.... Roll a D4!

2. You successfully flame another clump, but accidentally fly into the ash cloud, leaving you with some ash burns [Minor Damage -2 HP ]
HP: 31/33
Status Effect: N/A
XP: 000
Target Accuracy: 6
Flame Length: 6
General Stamina: 9
General Agility: 6
Between Accuracy: 6
Pain Resilience: 8
Instinct: 6
Luck: 6

Krahsujunth was a beast in the air, even on the lowest level. He had wanted this spot, been ready. Soon he would rise to the highest level, and take his anger out on the thread at its peak. All the frustration of being cooped up, of being held back...and furious triumph of finally having won his hearts' eye, it came out in his flame, blazing hot and racing from clump to clump. Low altitude was a cake walk, and he had every confidence in himself.

It was, in the end, a scream that shook him from his focus. Her scream. His mind floundered to touch hers, nearly shaking to realize she had indeed been injured, fear and rage melding with his ego. He screamed in turn as he chased down the next tangle, nearly colliding with it even as he flamed it, and instead slipping right into the ash cloud, tiny pinpricks of fire and pain chasing along his snout and neck to glance, cooler and more harmlessly, over his wings.

Good. He would share her pain, and let it coax his fires even higher.

It was hectic and crazy up in the air. Worse than ever before. Kalikath spotted Mishaath having some trouble with the wind, just as he was, but they were appearing right into Thread. Kalikath turned abruptly and shot a flame out hard and fast killing the Thread where Mishaath was about to be.

Roll 4: The wind is strong and trying hard to buffet you. If brown or bronze you see one of your wingmates struggling against the wind. They're getting blown out of their empty airspace, and dangerously close to a patch of Thread! You are able to twist and accurately flame down the clump they were going to fly into, saving them from Threadscore! Quote a Wingmate that took Threadfall Damage and nullify it! You saved them from the pain! +1 Flame Length

With two successful bouts of accurately shooting down thread clumps, Kinitarth’s ego and self confidence were high. They would be fine this day, and return to High Reaches with heads held high. Eyes sharp for any more falling clumps, Kinitarth’s gaze barely makes out the shape of his wingsecond--about to be seared in place of the parasite enemy!

Dobrokhoth! Kinitarth bellows, to both alert the brown and the errant dragon about to sear dragon instead of thread.

Sam’kel startles, whipping to turn to see.

Ihiannsith wheeled around into as much of a tight spiral as he could managed to flame a clump of thread that was falling to his right. He thrummed in pleasure as it burnt to fine ash, shifting away. They had this.

Aly'on glanced up at the sky, uneasy. 'Think Shyn'ar are Gwyllinth are doing alright.'

Ihiannsith replied, certain of himself and their relatives.

K'ladan and Razasith took flight with pride, bursting onto the scene from between with the practiced grace of a pair that had drilled again and again and again. All of them were prepared for this but K'ladan, especially, felt the fervor of the battle gripping at his heart. It pounded against his ribs and his knuckles tightened their grip.

They could manage this.

When the bronze opened his jaws to release a flame, it was steady and accurate. Each tendril they sought they tamed, searing it with an effortless ease. K'ladan felt his pride in himself and his dragon soaring - but maybe just a bit too much.
