Looking behind him, he wasn’t surprised to see back-up. It looked like the tiger had a companion, the jaguar if he was seeing things right. Grinning wolfishly, he felt a jolt of excitement move through him. Perhaps now that he had the attention of two guards, he could kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. Not wanting the two to lose the trail, he left a clear and direct path toward the tree line and as he came upon the surrounding shrubbery, he moved through it boldly, leaving dozens of small, snapped twigs and branches behind as well as a few strings from his cloak. He would have called out to them, to taunt them into action, but that would be taking things a bit too far…he was still on the run after all.

Slowing his pace, but only slightly, he stepped through the shrubs and leafless bushes heading straight into the forest. Passing by several large trees, he scraped his gloves against them, disturbing the snow, ice and bark that was caked upon them. “If they can’t follow this trail they’re idiots…” He murmured with a smirk as he led the way. The trees offered some shelter from the pelting snow, but visibility was still low. All the pair would be able to see was the outline of the dark, mysterious figure as he stepped farther and farther into the forest, leading them toward something they wouldn’t expect…

He knew that he needed to be quick as a bunny and as agile as a cat if he wished to out run the Lord Marshall, who, as expected, gave chase. His shouts were to be expected – he’d received an unannounced visitor in a seemingly restricted area, of course he would give chase, but to what end remained to be seen. With his initial message delivered, the mysterious figure didn’t have anything more to convey to the Lord Marshall, at least for the time being. And thus, the chase.

The mysterious figure didn’t hesitate to shift into one of his many animal forms as he ran through the Market Streets. Given the more spring-like weather, there were far more people out and about and that meant that he could slip into the crowd and disappear far easier than he would have a few weeks prior. Regardless, he shifted into a dark panther and continued to run through the streets, cutting down alley ways and deserted side streets to mask his trail and confuse the Lord Marshall whom he knew would be determined to catch him.

His dark fur blended in with the shadows of the building to perfection and allowed him to slow his headlong run and take more cautious actions in order to evade the formidable Lord Marshall. He knew all too well how powerful the man could be, and he would do all that he could not to be caught. No, when he and the Lord Marshall met it would be on his terms.

Prowling the back alleys, the mysterious figure, now in the guise of a panther, leisurely backtracked through the streets. Eyes and ears keen, he listened to the Lord Marshall as he searched in vain, for the mysterious figure who’d further shattered his world…

It must be wonderful to be as carefree as the White Raven who soared leisurely through the skies above... It had been an age since he'd linked up with his companion and as he watched her wheel around in the air, the Diviner had to wonder if she might just let him share her sight again sometime? Alright, the last time had left him questioning if it was at all worth it - what with visions of the undead massing towards him and no clear way to get rid of them...it had been quite terrifying - especially with his Grandfa not there for advise as well... He still kept the herbs that Merek had given him close by, but had almost been scared off of trying after that...

"I wonder if Animals ever feel lonely...?" It was a silly thought that had crossed his mind many a time and although he wouldn't necessarily admit it out loud, he was starting to miss the company of his somewhat dysfunctional family... No matter how obnoxious certain members could be...

As he reached the Market, the Diviner would pause, taking a moment to glance across the early morning movers, heading about their daily routines, buying supplies or meeting up with friends... He narrowed his eyes as he watched both men and women alike meeting up with those whom they knew and then heading off towards their planned locations... When was the last time he'd done that? For one, it had felt like an age since he'd gone to the Jolly Tavern and Inn, not since the late Kayne Nightroad had been in charge... Sure, he'd gone there once or twice following the attack, but after that, his visits had dwindled to barely one in a month - if that - and he'd instead spent more of his time wandering around the Academy...

"Hungry." With a irritated 'Caw' Branwen suddenly swooped in to land - initially missing the Diviner's shoulder before circling back as he opened out an arm for her to perch on. "Have Coin?"

"Not up for scavenging then?" Surprised that the Raven hadn't just flown off to find herself something to eat, Patrick would roll his eyes and allow a slight smile to grace his lips as Branwen walked her way up to his shoulder before settling herself inches from his right ear. "Alright, let's go see what the stalls have to offer," scratching the feathers of her crest with his finger, the Diviner would turn towards the gathering of vendors set either side of the streets, drawing a breath before advancing towards the wondrous scents that would no doubt carry a fair distance on the chilly breeze.

It had been a journey for Chen. To think that just a few weeks ago, he was wishing his classmates farewell back home. Yet here he was, scouring the streets of the island academy's town. The new change in scenery would take some getting used to but that's what transitioning was for, right? The streets were abuzz with the sound people people rushing through then at great speeds while the boy did his best to keep a low profile. Having a raiment that was a glowing sign of your ability was rather interesting if not totally something that could make him a prime target. That's why he had blasted all of his excess energy the moment he was able to step off of the boat. A well trimmed, dainty hand went through his white hair as he parted it into the style he had grown so find of. The sound of girls giggling caught his ear as he turned around. There, behind him, were three girls dressed in what appeared like traditional Valor attire. He offered them a wave and went to come over to them in hopes of maybe striking conversation but came to a halt just as their friends came from close by and joined them. Now feeling rather awkward, Chen backed away into his original spot and stood there without much of a goal.

His tour around the markets took him to some of the stalls selling fresh fruit. He was taken back to when his father had taught him all about the different kinds of fruit in the world. He had always paid attention, enough to warrant getting cook books for the holidays and everything. His friends had always joked that in a previous life, Chen had been a chef with a raiment to make food come to life. It was a shame that it was usually said before his cooking had been tasted. He let out a soft chuckle at the recollection and then proceeded to walk towards the closest fruit vendor. He held up however many pieces would be needed to purchase something nice. "I'll take the ripest fruit you have." He was given a rather inquisitive eye by the seller before adding in two more pieces to his 5. He walked away with his snack in hand and took a bite. Not how he had remembered them being back home, but a welcome respite.

Chen must have been too caught up in the memories, as he collided with somebody and nearly dropped the fruit he had been making short work of. He came to reality again looking directly at an orangedhaired man with a white bird perched on his body. Not the most ideal of situations to meet a person. "Sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going." Chen's voice was soft. It was like he was talking to a dear old friend or past mentor, his tone giving away his rather positive and helpful attitude in full. The curly hair on the man he ran into reminded him if the sunset and the view he had on his balcony. A beautiful scene of warm colors slowly fighting against the night until dusk ruled the starry night sky. He looked to the bird on the man's shoulder with great interest.

"Ah, how beautiful. Your companion is so majestic. May I pet her?" Chen looked at the man hopefully. He hoped he could get the bird. He wanted to get like 50% of the animals here.

                                                                                  OOC NOTES [x]

    [ - Enter into Market Streets - ]

Spring. It was hard to believe that it had already come. Time was passing by so quickly…
It would be harder to hide himself now that the weather was warming – wearing so many layers while standing in the blazing sun tended to make a person stand out and he did not want to draw attention to himself. With the chilly weather still in effect, walking about dressed as he currently was wasn’t too suspicious, but he kept to the alleys regardless.

Eyes trained on the street, his gaze scanned for one person in particular – a specific guard that he had some business with. Hand on the hilt of his sword, he tapped the end with his fingertips, impatient. Given his encounter with the Lord Marshal, he knew that Varys would be on high alert now – as he should have been to begin with! But given that notion, he needed to act quickly and gaining trustworthy allies was the first step.

It seemed like ages before he spotted the tiger-shifter walk into the market streets. Narrowing his gaze, he debated on how to get the males attention without drawing too much attention from the rest of the citizens enjoying the market. Knowing the guard had very sensitive hearing, he smirked a little. Unsheathing his dagger, he gripped the hilt and began to lightly tap the weapon against the bricks, the tapping taking on a distinct pattern that the guard should recognize - a simple military count for marching. It was sure to catch the male’s attention after a short time and sure enough, the tiger’s gaze eventually turned toward the alley to lock onto him.

The continued his tapping for another few seconds before he sheathed his dagger. Gazes locked, he nodded his head toward the back of the alley, a clear but silent signal to ‘follow’. With his message received, the mysterious figure turned and headed down the alley heading for an abandoned area where he and the guard could talk in private…

Branwen was generally quite easy to please when it came to filling her crop, any kind of bread that wasn't too stale - she even liked the occasional tidbits of meat if it was available... Being one who had little care for whatever carrion she strayed across, the White Raven contentedly pecked at the apple the Diviner had just purchased from the fruit vendor...

Patrick had bought a few for himself to have later, but as he started to head back the way he'd come, a sudden thought that he'd not been to visit Rosalyn's Bakery in a long while spun him on the spot and into the path of another who seemed equally as preoccupied... The collision was a bit of a shock to the male, snapping him back to reality and forcing the Diviner to retreat back a pace or two - which in turn sent the apple in his hand one way and the Raven in the other, "Watch It!" Branwen's tone was sharp and after a brief flapping of startled feathers and another Caw of discontent, the White Corvid came to land on the Diviner's back, scrambling up onto his shoulder as he straightened up again...

"No, it's my bad..." Dusting off the apple he'd dropped, Patrick lifted the fruit up towards the Raven who promptly turned her head away in disgust... "I've just been so scatter-brained lately..." With Branwen acting rather spoilt and thus not deserving any further attention, the Diviner would instead turn his gaze towards the poor individual he'd just slammed into, hoping he hadn't come to harm from the impact...

Seeming to have recovered from the clash, the stranger wasted little time in complimenting his companion's beauty - Patrick of course would take a bite of the apple as he listened - waste-not-want-not afterall, quirking an eyebrow in reaction to the male's request to pet her, "You'll hafta ask her..." Branwen wasn't overly concerned with crowds, but if anyone attempted to touch her without her permission, they were often met with a swift peck to the fingers... "Bran?"

Exhaling noisily, the White Raven's beady eyes now turned back towards the pair, appearing to narrow as she regarded the stranger quietly.

It wasn't so bad... The sun was shining - which through the dark layers of his uniform warmed the areas of his body which still ached - but it was the act of trying to hide the occasional twinge that seemed to take more effort than he'd have liked... "At least I'm outside..." Counting his luck that he wasn't stuck in an office sifting through paperwork, the Tiger turned his attention to the marketgoers around him.

Everyone seemed to be enjoying the clear weather, wandering here and there, perusing the stalls or just sitting down in the sunshine - it was rare to come across a thief or pickpocket nowadays as the majority of troublemakers knew it wasn't worth being chased down and tackled by one of the Shifters...but it was still worth being alert...

As he approached one of the stalls - his intention to enquire how the vendor was fairing with the day's sales - Cyrus' ears would start to pick up on a sound vastly different from that of the natural hustle and bustle one would expect to hear in the Marketplace... To most, the tapping would go unnoticed, yet the particular tone of something metallic connecting with a solid surface - far from the Blacksmiths - wasn't something he could just ignore...

Having come to a stop to better listen to the sound, he started to notice a familiar pattern to its incessant clinking... Now, turning his head discretely, he attempted to locate the source before his amber eyes zeroed in on a shrouded individual standing in the mouth of one of the alleyways. Their eyes locked for just a moment before a clear, yet inaudible signal to follow urged the Shifter forward a step.

"This guy again..." he wasn't entirely displeased to see the figure, but having already eluded the guards more than once - and in their own Barracks no doubt - Cyrus knew it would be foolish to pass up an opportunity to pursue, especially as the individual seemed to know a particular code recognised only by the Guards themselves...

Lelyna’s mind was filled with thoughts as she walked from the Academy into the city. She could have taken the carriage back – Mikhail would have preferred that of course – but she’d wanted to walk, thus she’d sent the carriage back to the house without her. There was so much to contemplate – Rhysian was her relative but one who had clearly been upset by the notion that the family had wanted her dead. Had he been living abroad? Perhaps he was a distant relative that wasn’t aware of the superstition? It made her wonder where Rhysian had been and why he hadn’t known, then again, there was still a lot she didn’t know herself.

As she walked through the streets, she kept off to the side, not wanting to get in anyone’s way. But as she walked, she began to browse at the stalls, interested in all of the wares that everyone was selling. She stopped to purchase an apple, needing a bit of a snack. Upon paying for her fruit, she continued on only to catch sight of someone peculiar – a man with red hair and a white raven on his shoulder. Curious, the man vaguely familiar, she walked toward him, unaware that she was openly staring in fascination. The man who spoke with him, coincidentally, seemed equally as fascinated, but by the raven it seemed…

Chen always did love animals, regardless of breed or type. Although their meeting had been less than ideal, he was certain that he could befriended this very upset crow soon. The boy spoke and blamed himself for their interruption, something that Chen would not stand for. "I must insist that the fault is entirely mine." He looked back up at who he was speaking with and gave a rather annoyed pout. "I was enthralled by the sights of this town that I ran into you. There is nobody to blame but I."

Goodness! He was so caught up in that argument that he nearly forgot his manners! "Pardon. I forgot yo introduce myself. I'm Chen, a first year at the academy. It's wonderful to meet you two." His right hand held over his chest, he gave a bow to the boy and his bird, not noticing the extra pair of eyes on them at the moment. Not that he would really mind either way.

"Would you two be busy at this moment? I was hoping I could find somebody to show me around the city and possibly the Academy."

Patrick had certainly not expected the stranger to insist that the collision was all down to his own awed distraction - sure Eoana was certainly a wonderful place to explore but... "Okay, fine..." He might just have pursued the fact that they had perhaps both been at fault, but if this guy insisted - then he wasn't going to start a fight over it. Raising the palms of his hands in defeat the Diviner would give a light chuckle and let the white-haired individual take the blame, listening as Chen now introduced himself.

Naturally, Patrick started to lift his hand - a lot of people he'd met liked to shake hands - but as the Enhancer brought his own hand towards his chest and initiated a bow, the Diviner would instead continue to raise his palm - but then slide it through his hair instead - just so he didn't look a fool standing there with his hand out... "I'm uh... Patrick, I'm a Graduate, but perhaps in my Third year now?" bringing his hand back down with a slight smile, he took a moment to think that over before following the male's gaze as he seemed to look past him? "I'm not busy at all reall..."

"Blind Friend..." Branwen would pipe up with something of a hushed whisper - it was quiet, but close enough to the Diviner's ear for him to hear it clearly and after a second to ponder exactly what the Raven had said, Patrick would spin around, his eyes widening and a smile appearing more visibly on his lips as he recognised his Classmate,

"Lelyna?" Having not seen his fellow Diviner in so long Patrick felt a rush of excitement at seeing her wandering the stalls "Hey! ...Oh!" He started to call out to her, but had to stop himself from just walking right on over - he'd already been talking with another afterall and it would be most rude of him to just turn and walk away without an explanation, "Excuse me a moment, Chen, I'll be right back," Bowing his head respectfully towards the newcomer, the Diviner would turn, initially waving in his greeting to the female, then recalling that Lelyna's sight had never been all that fantastic and she may not have picked up on it, "How the Devil are ya? It's felt like forever since I've seen you," It was only as he got close enough that he realised she was out there...alone? "No Kayl today?" his eyes would glance around, trying to see who might just have accompanied her on her trip out that day...

‘Blind Friend…’ Lelyna heard the raven talk and for a moment, she blinked in surprise. Was that…Branwen? Patrick’s raven? It was the only bird that she knew of that sounded like that. She had snippets of memories of him from music class and diviner class – Patrick and his red hair. As the boy turned around and said her name, she recognized his voice and smiled wide.

“Patrick!? Oh, how lovely it is to see you! It’s been so long.” Lelyna said happily, meaning every word. The more Patrick spoke and given the way he acted, she suspected that he didn’t know about the restoration of her eyesight – it was an easy thing to miss. As Patrick looked around to see who was with her, he clasped her hands in front of her and gave him a warm smile.

“Nope, just me…I wanted to take a walk by myself, so I did. It’s a beautiful day after all, and there’s so much to see.” Lelyna said with a giggle and a smile, wondering how long it would take him to realize that she wasn’t blind anymore. Glancing over at the man he’d been walking to previously, she smiled and waved, wanting to be friendly as well. Looking up at Bran, she smiled even more.

“Hello, Bran. You are far prettier than I imagined! You’re as white as snow.” Lelyna said with a friendly smile and a light giggle, holding up her hand in case Bran wanted to come and say hello to her.

The merchant ship from Azar was approaching the end of its’ long journey to the isle of Eoana. The crew were bustling around, busy as per the usual, keeping the ship in check, taking stock of supplies, etc. Amidst the scurrying feet, the hollering from the ship’s crows’ nest and the loud cheerful singing to pass the boredom, little did this fine, hard-working gathering know that there was on passenger that they had not accounted for. Deep, below the ships deck where the mountains of valuable jewellery, fine food and drink, weapons and armour and gods knew what other exquisite wares waited until the day they would, bartered bargained and paid for, there lay an individual who found themselves in a place that, legally speaking, he should not have been. A young man with messy white hair, pale skin and glimmering turquoise eyes helped himself to some leftovers he so rarely managed to salvage on this long voyage. They were only small bites that he munched on to desperately sooth the aching hunger that had been tormenting him these last few weeks. But it wasn’t enough, for what the young man was currently eating would barely satisfy the seagulls now pestering the ship.

“Land Ho!” a voice yelled from up on deck.

Such an announcement could not have been more appreciated. The man had grown tired of eating barely sufficient leftovers from drunken sailors and the overbearing scent of salt water. The stowaway waited for the ship to dock, then he would make his move.

    [-Enters Harbour-]

The Azarian Merchant ship had docked at the city harbour and the stowaway managed to seek his way past the ships’ crew and, as well as the ship and dock security. With that, he hid himself amongst the bustling crowd, where eventually, he would make his way into the city.

[-Exits harbour and enters Market District streets-]

The mysterious man had spent a good few hours traversing the city’s twists and turns, he eventually came to what looked like a market district of some sort, with all variety of stores and an even larger variety of wares. Unfortunately for the stowaway, the crowd had dispersed, therefore, stealing some food from these market stalls would not be easy. Pair that with the piercing pangs of hunger in his stomach, along with a sharp headache that had him barely standing up straight, he knew he wasn’t in the shape to run if he were caught nabbing some supplies. Suddenly, he felt an onslaught of pulsing pains and lack of balance that he quickly had to place both hands on a nearby wall to save himself to collapsing. Spending a few moments leaning his body against the wall to try and maintain his balance, the man slowly made the attempt to start walking again, As he soldiered on, he gazed in front of him, his vision growing more blurred by the minute. This wasn’t good…he could feel dark blurs and dots starting to cloud his vision, the sun’s overbearing heat emphasising his practically starved state as he did his best to try and keep his balance.

    “S-Shade…I need…shade…”

Gin walking along the market streets, his hands in his pockets as he went along, glancing at various shop windows just for fun. He didn’t see anything that he liked, which was fine. He didn’t enjoy shopping like some people did which meant that he had more spending money for food or clothes – when he desired them. Gianna and Ven provided him with a bit of pocket money now and again, which he usually just ended up saving it all.

As Gin walked along, he caught sight of a man who seemed to be stumbling, or perhaps mis-stepping was the better term. Curious, he arched a brow, his ears fwicking out to the sides, head tilting slightly to one side as he came closer toward the man. He was dressed in a foreign fashion, one that was highly intriguing to him, he especially liked the red, even if the robe was torn. Perhaps he was a foreigner who’d just docked? Maybe he was a bit sea sick, or land sick?

Gin approached with a bit of caution, not knowing how to handle this sort of situation. “Uhm, are you okay, Mister?” He couldn’t see the man’s face so he couldn’t gauge his age, but he assumed he was about his age or maybe a bit older. In any case, he came within a few feet of him before stopping. “Are you feeling alright?” Gin’s ears fwipped frontwards and to the sides as he observed the other, his tail slowly swishing behind him as he waited for an answer.

As the man struggled to keep his balance, somehow managed to firmly, yet desperately maintain his grip against the wall. He glance forward and through his blurred vision, he managed to make out a figure, who seemed to notice him and call out. The person’s voice sounded muffled due to a now intense pressure in the stowaway’s ears. He had noticed this happenining recently…just as he had been noticing the chill in his sinuses as of recent. Having been a stowaway on a guarded merchant ship, he hadn’t exactly had the best room to move around freely, nor did he possess access to medical supplies that may have been needed to counter the very symptoms he was feeling now. With the stranger’s questions completely going over his head, the man in the red robe simply muttered to himself in a tired, yet pained voice, his vision grower darker, his body going numb, heart pounding, thoughts racing, “Sh-Shelter…need…shelter…ugh…not now!”

At that moment, the figure’s balance completely gave way. The robed man stopped before he slid down the wall and crashed into a nearby stockpile of crates, causing some nearby citizens to gasp in shock at the man’s sudden fall. The impact of the fall had been enough for the hood of the man’s robe to fly back, revealing his naturally pale face and somewhat messy white hair. Still somewhat semi-conscious, the man still spoke in his weakened, malnourished and male treated state, “U-Uuuugh…w-ugh-water…someone…anyone…w-water…water...”

Gin, confused by the man’s words, looked around a little, wondering what he should possibly do with such a weird guy, he was caught off guard when he heard a crash. “Whoa, whoa whoa!” He was too late to stop the fall, but then again, he doubted he could have caught the guy anyway… Seeing how he’d fallen, Gin hissed a bit in sympathy, wincing. “Ouch, that looks like it hurt…” Kneeling down next to him, Gin sighed and frowned a little bit.

Seeing the man’s pale face and hair, he felt a deep pang of pain deep in his chest – he looked like Sokea, but older. Swallowing hard, Gin shoved the thought from his mind as he reached out to help the man. “Water?” Given his pale state, it was possible that he was dehydrated…luckily, the Jolly Tavern and Inn was closeby. “Today is your lucky day…” Reaching down, Gin took the man’s arm and draped it over his shoulder. Wrapping his arm around the man, Gin lifted him to his feet, steadying him and supporting his weight. “Come on…I know where we can get you taken care of…” With any luck, Emma would have a free room for the guy to stay the night in…
