They were in the second hour, or second half of the first hour, or something like that, and Teth seemed to be no worse for the wear. He was a hulking brown, as always, and his energy and stamina seemed limitless. For F'ell, he was just fine too. The young man wasn't as exuberant as his dragon but he certainly was no slacker at being on alert.

Quote:
By Faranth! You and your dragon pull off a pretty awesome move to catch some Thread that's fallen through. You're able to save one of your Wingmates! Quote one of your Wingmates who took damage this Round! This will remove damage and any possible negative effect from that roll!

A few sharp turns here and there, impressive for such a big dragon, had them taking down clumps of Thread with relative ease.

roll 1: Your dragon hits a sudden thermal of air, threatening to push them up unexpectedly, and to miss their target! If a bronze or brown, thankfully, your dragon is able to fight the current of air, and keep their position steady. [+1 Stamina]
roll 2: You check in on your dragon to ensure they're doing all right. Thankfully, your dragon responds that they're feeling fine. All that training and practicing is coming full circle, as your dragon isn't feeling particularly fatigued. If they are suffering from a Fatigue Effect, they get a burst of renewed energy and the status is removed. [+1 Stamina] If your dragon isn't suffering, you are allowed to quote a fellow wingmate (must be in your same wing) who is suffering the effect! Your dragon trumpets at them encouragingly, making them feel better, and giving them a renewed burst of energy and effort. Remove Fatigue Effect from one wingmate!
roll 3: Your dragon is effortlessly flaming Thread. Honestly, they almost seem to make it look easy. Both you and your dragon start to feel more confident, and even start to get a bit cocky. Low Altitude Wing was always the easiest wing to fly. Unfortunately for you.... Roll a D4!
- - - roll 3, part 2: 1. A guest of wind sends you out of formation, and you know your Wingleader (or their Seconds) just saw.
roll 4: You appear from Between only to find yourself in the perfect spot to catch a sliver of Thread. You successfully flame it down easily. [+1 Target Accuracy]
roll 5: A small clump of Thread has fallen through! You successfully flame it down. [+1 Target Accuracy]

Teth, wait. Not yet, don't - F'ell sighed with exasperation as his dragon did what he wanted to do anyway, not that following Teth's instincts had ever steered them wrong before.

And of course, they didn't again. Instead the pair had a rather impressive display and F'ell decided to stay quiet.

Another strand as the first thing they saw when they reappeared, and without even waiting to close, Ovshth belched his flame, surprisingly scorching it away from such a distance. It felt good to get a hit in in retaliation... but their scores still burned.

Again, always, letting Teth do what he did best never hurt and almost always came out correct. At least while the pair where in the air, that is.

Quote:

They'd been doing fine, and F'ell was making sure the cockiness of earlier wasn't coming back, but that didn't mean they could control or predict the weather. A few nice saves here and there helped a little, but when the wind suddenly took a sharp turn both dragon and rider found themselves face to face with a clump. Teth!

I'll try!!

The wind was awful down here on the lower levels, and F'ell could only wonder if the upper altitudes were fairing any better. He didn't have much more time to think since Teth made a hard roll, flaming down some Thread that had gotten too close, and his attentions turned back to the task at hand.

They both spotted the strand of Thread too late--and though Garganth tried to turn, it still managed to sear his hide. He bellowed, more with rage than agony, and disappeared Between to freeze the offense sliver. It was little more than a flesh wound, and his eyes shone a savage red.
