Oranie
Oh, the Butterfly egg.... She watched the bronze with bright eyes even as he made it quite clear that he had zero interest in the going-ons around him. That was when the activity really seemed to pick up! A rolling egg rocketed about the sands, and bowled into a group of candidates. A nervous giggle threatened to swell up in her throat, and highly aware that it was hardly a polite response, Oranie smothered it.
The brown spilled forth from his egg, and his enthusiasm was infectious. Of course they were happy to see him! Her smile was utterly genuine now, and she squeezed Elibrie's hand quietly in response.
She gasped when Teal Glow smacked right into another, and while the blue seemed no worse for wear.... his bronze sibling was clearly displeased. Juhvek's words earned a quick nod. No sense in not being prepared, but she hoped it wouldn't come to that...
--
Serrekhar
That one dragon didn't want anything to do with any of them! Well... maybe that was normal? Serrekhar watched the other eggs carefully, fascinated as the brown emerged from his shell... and then, a little blue! But other than the blue...
He tensed a little as the bronze hissed and trumpeted, surveying them all with baleful red eyes. "Geez." He muttered, staring warily, but admiringly at the displeased dragonet.
--
Bukichi
His eyes were immediately dragged away from the bronze who'd hatched first and the brown, studying the one-sided argument between the blue and Green Tribal bronze. The blue.... didn't even seem to notice his brother's upset, even when met with his fangs.
The bronze himself reared back with a roar, and Bukichi found himself watching closely. There was no doubt that this dragon had no qualms about getting what he wanted.. and letting others know when he hadn't.
--
Ollanmar
He rolled his eyes at his brother's silent celebration, resisting the urge to give him a shove. It wasn't that big of a deal. It wasn't like he'd Impressed or anything! But any irritation quickly vanished as the dragons began to spill from their shells--some more dramatically than others. "I told you, he was just having a moment! Look at him!"
But that was when Ollanmar spotted what could be trouble. "Heads up." He muttered, watching the bronze dragon with a mix of appreciation and apprehension. He certainly wasn't happy, but that had been one sharding way to hatch, too...
--
Baihath
Oh, babies! Baihath crooned his hearts out at them all, his claws twitching against the sand as he fought his impulse to skitter out to play with them. Butterfly bronze didn't seem too happy but.... that was okay! There was plenty of time for him to find His and then maybe they could play!
As for his little sun, well, of COURSE they were excited to see him!!!
Ohh, but someone wasn't as happy... no problem! The blue's enthusiasm had him wiggling all over again. Yes, sand! It's so good for itches! He fixed purple-whirling eyes upon the second bronze, watching as he herded his brother away from the remnants of his shell.
Baihath gave a start when he realized Khamaith was speaking to someone, swiveling his head left and right as he tried to catch up on what, exactly, had happened. Are you okay? Is everything okay? He asked, rearing up on his hind legs to try and butt his head gently against the underside of her jaw.

Iafri and Green Girofleth
Iafri didn't always attend Hatchings, sometimes leaving Girofleth to do so while she avoided the crowd, though she really did enjoy watching the little babies. It was just a lot of people, and an awful lot going on at once, and some days she was better at that than others. And given that she was still recovering from the nasty scoring she'd received a sevenday ago, she might well have just continued to lie in bed, if it hadn't been for a certain someone.
Impossibly, not only had Li'tt not just up and left after the Flight, he'd stuck around. She truly couldn't imagine why, he was wonderful and surely could have had just about anyone, but she wasn't going to complain; she was going to enjoy it for as long as possible. Maybe it was a bad idea to let herself get so attached and invite inevitable heartbreak, but she'd been so lonely for so long, she couldn't help it. Iafri adored him, even if her doubts dug at her and whispered that she didn't deserve him.
Whatever the case, he was here for now, and she leaned carefully against him, watching the Hatching unfold. One of the bronzes was terribly unhappy with his blue brother, and she could only hope he wouldn't take it out on the Candidates.
Girofleth, for her part, was contentedly tucked against Alzarth, though she too hoped the bloodshed would be minimal, as she eschewed violence. But hatchlings were hatchlings, and she would not judge them for it. They were brand new to the world, and it could be a difficult time.

Akaris and Green Samodith
It was Hatching time, finally! And bless them, the little babies didn't choose the middle of the night for it. She'd had her outfit picked out for weeks now, so once the news came, there was no unnecessary fussing or wasting time making up her mind about a particular detail. It took very little time at all for Akaris to have herself dressed and made up and ready to go. Samodith, of course, looked as perfect as ever, and the young woman kissed her nose before she mounted up and they were off.
Once they'd arrived, she took a moment to make sure everything was in place after their brief trip, and made her way into the Stands as Samodith alighted near a familiar bronze, radiating happiness and affection. As prone to sudden mood shifts as she was, she was never anything less than delighted to see their Western family. The dragonets were all well and good, but really, they were here more to visit than to watch the proceedings.
She did notice, of course, that her golden sister was attending as well, and reached out to extend a quiet, affectionate greeting.
Uta here for visit in the background!

Gold Striped Egg continued its rocking and shaking. Someone in there definitely wanted out!
Teal Glow Blue knew when he wasn't wanted, and was quick to run away from his brother. Unfortunately, he wasn't very stable on the uneven sand, and found himself fouling up his feet. Giving a surprise creel, he reached out to steady himself-- and wound up catching Aelyx with his wing-claw.
The force of keeping himself steady meant the wound was fairly deep--but the blue righted himself before it became fatal. Oblivious to what he might have just done, the teal blue continued on his way.
A Candidate!! Look! Another one!! And another. And another. And another. Oh, Dad, look, ANOTHER! The blue squealed with delight, booping his snoot against each white roped Candidate he passed, absolutely thrilled with his lot. Everything was awesome, and this blue couldn't believe his luck at being born.
MaraRune Sorry Aelyx. Go bleed your own blood.
Tsunake Hey Baihath! Little Son is THRILLED.
Purple Glitter Egg would give a sudden lurch, and a small crack would appear in the side of its shell. Not enough for the being within to escape, or be seen--but a few more shakes had ought to do it.
Faint cracks would appear along the top of Pink Striped, before the entire top of the egg would pop off--but the being inside had yet to be revealed.

Rykin
Six months ago, Rykin would have flinched at Yellow Swirl's touch, no matter how much fun he might have been having seconds before. Now he simply took a deep breath and continued smiling down at the brown, even going so far as to reach out and brush his fingers against his soft hide. Apparently, mindhealers truly did work wonders, though Rykin wasn't of a mind to give them proper credit right now.
No, right now there was an angry bronze screeching nearby, his posturing reminding Rykin a little too much of another young dragon he'd had a run-in with a year ago. Still, the man stood his ground admirably, clearing his thoughts as he took another calming breath.
Brenley
Instead of withdrawing into his head, Bren tried to make himself presentable in the face of Keleres's company. Perhaps it was because his mind couldn't wander while hatchlings were screaming, or maybe it was simply because he was used to her now. Either way, he brushed off his robes, unclenched the hand at his side, and even smiled faintly at his fellow candidate.
"They're very interesting. And loud. I suppose some of them do remind me of Baihath." He refrained from commenting on whether that was good or bad. "The bronzes though... they seem to prove that a dragon's personality is shaped outside of its parents' influence." He pressed his lips together as he watched the Green Tribal bronze with wary eyes. Brenley tried to exude admiration and awe at the little dragon, but there was a decent amount of fear there too.

Kadosse
Kadosse let out a little gasp as the little blue tumbled into one of the candidates, fingers resting on her lips as she allowed herself to fret just so much over the condition of the person who had been tumbled into. Certainly, she wasn't going to blame the little one for not having his feet about him immediately upon hatching, but was that candidate okay?
The little baby dragon seemed fairly calm for it all - well, excited, rather, but in a way that was kind rather than malicious or threatening. He was easy to focus on for at least a moment, though she did peer towards the Gold Striped Egg as it shook...then the Purple Glitter egg....then oops, Pink Striped's top fell off. Who was inside? She couldn't see!
-----
Amahno
Oof! That had to have hurt - Amahno curled his lip sympathetically when the toppling blue seemed to draw blood. But then he was off on his way, onward to meet everybody!
"I wouldn't have mind it rolling this way! Would have been a front seat show!" Amahno grinned at Nashwa's comment, looking between his little buddy (he was attached and it was going to hurt him) and the bronze who could decide to forcefully take the attention he felt he deserved at any time. Just to be mindful of it. Hmm hmm HMM.
"Anybody you two liked out and about yet?"
------
Fahn
Fahn was enamored with all of the babies - how darling they were! Though the bronzes would never look her way...which was fine! The little Teal Glow Blue was absolutely friendly and Fahn adored that. But the other egg she'd gotten to meet was also starting to move...
and maybe this time she'd get to see them for a little bit longer!

Zhaydegan
Zhaydegan had seen Dystzha get bowled over by the egg, but she was up and on her feet quickly and he was sure she could handle a bruise or two. He'd heard Farvath's voice in his mind -- surprising in the moment, if not entirely unfamiliar -- and he'd sent a cheerful wave of thanks back at the dragon, focused as much as it could be with all this goin on. Those things were more or less standard.
Blood happened. Blood was to be expected, though he did scrunch up his face in sympathy for the wound. "There it is," he said. "That's all the blood we need this round."
Prism Shine Didn't miss it, sis. Walk it off! wink
demon_pachabel Didn't miss that, either, Farvath. Thanks!
----
Eliaza
Her eyes were open again. She was watching. Just in case. The little blue, the brown with their cheerfulness and excitement to finally be out in the world, helped to balance out their bronze brother's anger. The moment of overwhelmed motionless began to melt away, and Eliaza found herself smiling rather than fighting her anxiety. She still wasn't going to forget a moment of this.
----
Ollandin
"I see him," Ollandin promised. It'd be hard to miss him. The little bronze had made it pretty clear he wasn't happy. "He'll calm down once he finds the one he wants. And hopefully," he added with a wince, "without tearing any of us up in the meantime." A few more twitching and cracking eggs had him pointing again. "Look that one," he said of the pink-striped egg. "Popped its lid right off!"

Ansirien
"Here, let me help you get that stuff off you." Ansirien grabbed the corner of his Candidate robe and started wiping the egg goo off Zaexillia's robes and arms, leaving her to wipe it off of her face. "That was a close call. Better egg innards than something worse, though, right?"
At that moment he caught out of the corner of his eye the little blue stumble and catch a girl -- Aelyx -- with his wing-claw, the blood flowing, and he cringed a little. "Augh, our first casualty," he murmured. "Aelyx just got gored by a claw..." Even though it was clearly unintentional, it was still disconcerting. He hoped the girl would be okay.

Nashwa - she/her
"So long as it just hit you, since you're such good friends," Nashwa teased. Still, being rolled into wouldn't have been the worst thing - at least, for anyone other than the Green Tribal bronze, who very definitely hadn't taken it well. "I only touched a few before it all went to shaff. That one was actually fairly polite," she noted indicating the irate bronze with a nod, "He just...seemed a bit like he had better things to do. Makes sense, though, obviously I'm not his type."

Rian - she/her - HR
Hatchings went from quiet to chaotic so quickly it made her head spin a little, and this one was no exception. The egg that had pulled the rolling trick managed to hatch out a little energetic blue, and in turn forced a bronze to hatch --- and she knew more than enough to know that might not go over well (as it evidently didn't, that handsome bronze was not happy), and then there was the sweet little brown roaming the sands and... well, it was a lot to follow, really, but she watched it all and wondered which of them, if any, would find His first.
But then--- oh. Oh no, the little blue tripped and in his attempt to catch himself, he tore into one of the candidates from Western. That wound looked like it hurt... She warred with herself for a moment, knowing she needed to pay attention to the dragonets most of all, but she--- she couldn't just do nothing. She would just... just help the other girl toward the edge, and then go back. She couldn't not help!
Mind made up, she stepped over toward the injured candidate, holding out an arm for the other girl to catch hold of. "That looks pretty bad," she said, smiling as reassuringly as she could. "Want some help moving to the edge so the healers can look at you?" As bad as that looked, the other girl definitely needed to get it tended to.
