Status Effect Removed!

Finally the healer patted W'ill on the hip -- one of the few places to escape Threadscore. "Well, I've done all I can. You're cleared to fly again, if you and your dragon feel up to it. You can go back to your wing."

With a whoop of joy, W'ill sat up and leapt off the cot, scrambling to put his clothes back on. I've been cleared to fly! How are you doing, Fal?

Faloth's bugling was loud and clear. Ready when you are, W'illMine!

W'ill was still hurting a little bit despite being practically bathed in numbweed beneath his bandages, but the grin on his face was huge and happy as he ran to meet Faloth. Giving the brown a hug around his neck, he quickly clilmbed on board and strapped himself in snugly. "Let Z'tir know we're on our way back!" And with that Faloth leapt into the air and blinked between to rejoin the fight.

T'en of Bronze Rixth

It was rather miraculous that they made it to the ground without any graceless flopping, and it was this concern over appearances that gave T'en a bit of relief amidst the chaos. He might have been secretly panicking over the absence of Rixth in his mind at the moment, but he knew the bronze was alive and would recover if he had anything to say about it. Maybe not fully—his beautiful swirling hide was marred with far too many patches of weeping red and charred black—but surely he wouldn't be ruined entirely.

T'en didn't even have to call for help as Rixth slid off of Mictecath's back. He fumbled out of his straps and watched as they were cut away in his wake by a swarm of healers, leaving him to debate which part of the dragon's body to approach first. He was vaguely aware of a throbbing pain in his foot and calf, but he didn't even look down, as focused on Rixth as he was. He did spare a series of brief glances for Nyara and Mic, struggling to express proper gratitude when so much of his focus was on the bronze.

"I'm going to thank you so often you'll be sick of me," he said with a slightly hysterical laugh. "I don't even know what happened. Everything was... fine." A thick swallow punctuated his words, and he looked at Nya one last time before he limped over and knelt beside Rixth's motionless head, reaching out a shaking hand and stroking at a patch of unburned skin.

Sweet Symmetry
eee perfect thank you! emotion_bigheart

Burning Aces Wing
Zamistia of Brown Nanuth
HP: 16/42
Status Effect: Painful 1/2
XP:
Target Accuracy: 2
Flame Length: 3 (+2 to be added after Threadfall)
General Stamina: 4
General Agility: 2
Between Accuracy: 3
Pain Resilience: 3
Instinct: 2
Luck: 2 (+1 to be added after Threadfall)

Zamistia felt Nanuth touch down in the Weyrbowl and she unstrapped herself, so she could climb down off his back. It wasn't long before some of the healers came over, to look both of them over. She winced as they worked on her leg, which she was thankful for the weyrhide that protected them from Thread burrowing in. However, it was clear they were concerned about Nanuth, as they worked on dealing with his burns and other injuries.

Don't worry, My Light, I will be fine. Just wish they would not take so long. I want to be fighting Thread,Nanuth growled softly. However, he would wait, since his red headed rider would want that.

Rolls

Hour 1, Round one (High Altitude)
1. 9) The wind is strong and trying hard to buffet you. If brown or bronze you see one of your wingmates struggling against the wind. They're getting blown out of their empty airspace, and dangerously close to a patch of Thread! You are able to twist and accurately flame down the clump they were going to fly into, saving them from Threadscore! Quote a Wingmate that took Threadfall Damage and nullify it! You saved them from the pain! +1 Flame Length (used save for Meep's Dob)
2. 1)
Blasted all! As you jump Between to avoid a clump of Thread, the winds change, and when you appear from the icey depths, it's right into a major sheet of Thread! Heavy Damage: -8 HP! They also now suffer a Painful status for the next 3 turns. This will negate any XP gained, and cause double damage if the prompt includes damage (or has you roll for damage).

3. 14) The thread is thick and coming down fast. Unlike the lower wings, you don't have to chase this Thread around -- it's just about everywhere you turn! This is what your dragon was made for, this is what you, as a rider, were meant to do. Burn down those Threads so they are no longer a threat to your wingmates and the people of Pern! Your dragon flames a patch ahead of them, clearing some airspace for your wingmates below. +1 Flame Length (negated by painful effect)
4. 18 ) Are you feeling lucky? Well you should! Free reply! Respond to this post with any action pertaining to Threadfall, and gain a little luck. [+1 Luck] (negated by painful effect)
5. 16) The wind picks up, and you fight to keep in formation. Your wings strain, but you're able to keep your place! Though your muscles ache, you're not going to give up so easily. Pern depends on you! +2 Stamina (negated by painful effect)

Hour 1, Round 2 (High Altitude)
1. 18 ) Are you feeling lucky? Well you should! Free reply! Respond to this post with any action pertaining to Threadfall, and gain a little luck. [+1 Luck]
2. 5) The air is thick with Thread. It's at its heaviest up here, and you are literally surrounded by silver tendrils. You roar defiance before spitting forth a great flame, scorching the deadly threads before you with ease. Flame Length +1
3. 2) A clump of Thread falls right before you! Unfortunately, the wind pushes you and the Thread away from one another. With determination, you fight the wind, trying valiantly to get to the great enemy! You hop Between, hoping to get closer, and flame the Threads that threaten to fall through! Roll a D4 to see if you successfully Between!
-1 Failure! You Between right INTO the clump! Too close, too close!! Ouch! Damage is Moderate! -5 HP

4. 7) This is such a mess! Thread is everywhere. The High Altitude Wing is always in the thick of it, and today is no exception.

If you are a bronze, brown, or blue 30' or larger you find yourself getting hit by the wildly blown Thread! Moderate Damage: -6 HP!

5. 13) A large swath of Thread heads your way! Roll a D4 to see what happens!
-1 Critical Failure! The wind changes, and you find yourself blown right into the sheet! You hop Between, but miss your mark, and appear directly inside the writhing mass of silver. Major Damage: -10 HP

Hour 2, Round 1 (Mid Altitude)
(+5 HP added from Weyrleader during changeover)
1. 12) This is bad. Very bad. One of your wingmates appears out of Between flaming, but instead of catching a nearby target, they catch you instead. Your dragon roars in pain, blinking hastily Between! Just how bad is the damage? Roll a D4!
-2 The burn is painful, but you think you'll be okay! Moderate Damage -7 HP. They also now suffer a Painful status for the next 2 turns. This will negate any gained XP, and cause double damage if the prompt includes damage (or has you roll for damage).
2. (healer) 21) 2-35.The healer looks at your wound and gives a shake of their head. The prognosis doesn't look good, but they're determined to patch you up as best they can! Return Request Denied! Regain +5 HP but re-roll from the Healers Grid! You still haven't been given clearance to return!

Zamistia let out a sigh of relief, as it seemed not to take much longer. The healers finish up the patching up of Nanuth and her own wounds. That got a rumble of happiness from her dragon and she knew he was glad they would be able to rejoin their wing now. Once they were given the go ahead, she put his gear back on and climbed into position.

Now let's get back up there, shall we?Nanuth asked brightly. He felt Misty give him the coordinates and he popped Between, to get back to where they had been.

Ky’ess & Hiraeth - Trespassers (2nd Wave)
TRESPASSERS
Ky’ess of Blue Hiraeth
HP: 25/25
Status Effect:
XP:
Target Accuracy: 2
Flame Length: 4
General Stamina: 2
General Agility: 2
Between Accuracy: 4
Pain Resilience: 2
Instinct: 2
Luck: 3

Whatever hope the pair had held onto that this fall would be okay, that everything would be fine was quickly dashed during the first half of the fall. Dragons returning quickly to be seen to or their riders patched up; but the first death had hit them especially hard. Thella and Lireloth, of their own wing; to no longer see the brown again at wing drills, to no longer fight by the pair's side. Hiraeth's keen had been high and wavering, pressing as close to Ky'ess as he had been able to. A devastating loss, and so early…

And then other dragons began to fall, though at least they arrived back at the Weyr; at least if they were home, they could have a chance…
At least, until Rixth had been brought in. Hiraeth's claws had worried the ground beneath him, the bright yellows of his eyes as he debated possibly going to his uncle's side, to see his big sister Mic before they rejoined the fight…

No, he'd only interfere; it was.. best if he stay put, especially while Ky'ess was attaching the last of the glow lanterns. In the waning light, the golden red candlemark as the sun was setting, the soft lights against his contrasting hide looked quite fetching, or so Ky'ess had noted. But time for the switch of waves was quickly approaching, and though apprehension sat like a stone across their bond, Hiraeth had a moment to keep with his friend. Rider in tow, it was easier to pick Bajeth out of a crowd, though there was certainly more chaos with injuries being tended to. He's quiet, slinking up beside the massive bronze on his healthy side once more, a soft chirp in greeting. Hello again, Though Hiraeth worried about being a nuisance, the little worried blue couldn't deny he hadn't been looking forward to saying bye one last time. I have my lanterns! How do they look? Wings mantled slightly, doing a small turn. If he acted less nervous, maybe it would be true…

Though Ky'ess had done his best to stay busy, to stay helpful -- the man couldn't help but glance at the sky worriedly every now and then. Light was waning, and there had already been such loss. Thella and Lireloth were.. gone, snuffed out by thread, though it probably wouldn't hit him until the next time drills rolled around just what kind of empty space it would be. Hiraeth's sharp spike in anxiety when Rixth had been brought in by Mic had been tried to be soothed, but Ky'ess was worried himself. It was so soon into threadfall, what would conditions be like as the sun kept setting?

With all the lanterns attached to his straps, Ky'ess had thrown himself into the small task of tying and properly attaching them all. His dragon did look cute; all alit by the spores. But there was only so much distraction for his thoughts before he's wandering back once more -- to the sinking feeling that it had been Rixth and Nioweth from his own wing that had also fallen, and the creeping doubt that maybe he and Hiraeth might……..
Its Hiraeth's insistence to see Bajeth that snaps him out of it, and.. though he wouldn't deny it, perhaps tagging along and checking in on S'ian would be good. Just to make sure he was okay, the older man had looked more worried before fall had begun..

There's an attempt of a smile and a small wave as he spots S'ian, for he is happy to see him. "Hey," Ky'ess calls, and hates the tight quality of his voice from nerves. He clears his throat as he closes the distance. "Second wave is coming. Just wanted to see how you were doing before we went up."

Ingonth didn't bother with a public reply once they were cleared, eager to get back to work and away from these incompetents. He sent his rider an exasperated, I told them it wasn't so bad, and a mental nudge to get moving.

T'rin complied, reseating himself and fastidiously refastening his straps. You know they just want us to be safe. Go on then.

The blue didn't hesitate, following T'rin back to the fight before either could take another breath.

Of course they didn't have the clearance to leave. Some of these healers knew them too well from these sorts of drop-ins and N'ori also had to be patched up a bit too.

Things had started so well but had taken a turn for the worst right away, it seemed. Bajeth felt the loss of Lireloth as all the dragons did and his deep keen joined the noise filling the bowl. He watched as two more dragons were brought in, his hearts heavy with worry and sadness for the hits Trepassers were taking. Their own wing saw a few popping in for healing and he’d send them a mental nudge of encouragement, but otherwise kept back.

It wasn’t until a familiar voice filled his mind that he moved again, looking to his side to find Hiraeth all decked out in his lanterns. There was a false confidence in his voice and his posture as he held his wings aloft for inspection and Bajeth wondered if he should play along with it. The losses had come from his wing, surely he’d be worried. Scared, even.

Just as flattering as I pictured. He paused for a moment as he tried to find the right words to say. Should be tell him it was alright to be worried? Sad? Or should he act as if nothing was wrong and play along with the false confidence Hiraeth was giving him?

Do be careful up there. Come back here if you are too injured. You’ll do that, won’t you? His tone was even but imploring, though a touch of the sadness and pain of losing Lireloth and Thella and seeing a fellow bronze downed so early certainly touched his voice. Any loss was painful but to see a friend brought low wasn’t something he wanted.

S’ian, for his part, was exhausted already. Between the emotions and pain running through him from Bajeth to trying to help out on the ground, he was wearing himself thin already. Burning Aces had just switched out of the high altitude and he hoped they’d get a bit of a break, but Trespassers had just been rocked by the mid...

A little bloom of worry filled him - Bajeth again - and he lifted his head, anticipating Ky’ess before he said anything. He gave the younger rider a nod as he approached and hoped the bags under his eyes were harder to discern in the darkening Bowl.

“Doing fine. Trying to keep up with everything. I forgot how hectic it is down here, been a while since my Candidate days.” He offered Ky’ess a little grin but he could see the worry, the uncertainty in his eyes, hear it in his voice. Before his wing had been cut through so badly S’ian could say he’d be fine, that Ky’ess would come out the other side with maybe a new scar or two. Now, though, three of his wing mates had already fallen. Now it was different.

“How are you doing?” he asked, his tone edging the line between a wingsecond in the groove of doing his assigned task and that of a friend concerned for the blue rider. “Things...were pretty bad this first run, huh?” He hesitated a moment before moving closer to Ky’ess, a hand resting on his shoulder a moment later.

L'zant and Bhavaranth - Burning Aces - Second Wave

If a dragon could be smug -- well, no. A dragon absolutely could be smug, and Bhavaranth -- after Samodith's welcome invitation -- was the living example of that. Walking with a little extra swagger in his step, a dragon-sized strut of "told you so", he headed toward Samodith.

Yes, yes, L'zant answered, rubbing his forehead. He smiled a little despite himself, and shook his head. Bhavaranth had made his life infinitely more interesting from the day he'd hatched, and today was no exception. Not in anyway. Don't keep her waiting. But when the call comes to fly--

When it comes, I will fly. Of course I will. I can do more than one thing in a day, Mine. I can be a friend to Samodith and a friend to you, too. Aren't we friends?

L'zant blinked in surprised. Yes, of course we're friends. More than friends.

Then stop being jealous. It doesn't suit you. That said, the blue left his rider staring after him in bemusement and went to settle beside Samodith. Close, but not quite close enough to jostle her when he settled. He offered her a quiet croon, and an affectionate brush of the mind. Thank you for letting me sit with you, Samodith. I would rather spend my time in your company than in idle preparaion.

They're not being particularly gentle on you, but you can tell they're quite invested in making sure your wound (or your dragons) heals right! Unfortunately, that's going to take some time. Return Request Denied! Regain +5 HP but re-roll from the Healers Grid! You still haven't been given clearance to return

Tamami slid off Wuth's back to let the healers patch him up a bit, taking the time to check her leathers for any signs of Thread.
