Fortunately, at that point a blazing comet overhead distracted everyone.

fortunatly, it gave the earth a new resource to use, to harness this new resource the US builds a gas collector to re-energize the gas to use it for a better purpose

unfortunatly it was all radioactic and everyone mutated

Unfortunately, three of the mutants survived and took
shelter in a nearby sewer to strengthen their ninja powers and adapt to their
turtle life-styles so they would one day have revenge.
