 The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Markus smiled to himself, keeping a firm hold on the back of Akila's shirt. He found it amusing, watching her reaction. It was part of why he liked her. She was so simple, so straightforward. None of this sulking around and hiding things like most people. He was content to just be near her, to know she was safe and happy.  The tiger that should be....isn't....

Akila swiped at the fish and tilted her head this way and that, staring at the shine. She was like a house catch trying to catch the glare of a flashlight. However, when she actually caught a fish and her claw snagged it's side, she jolted back, dropping it back into the water and her eyes snapped back to focus; guilty eyes. She hadn't meant to hurt the fish.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Seeing the look on Akila's face, Markus pulled her back from the surface of the water. He hugged her, smiling. "Relax. The fish will live." He told her reassuringly. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Akila jumped, having forgot Markus was there and looked up at him guiltily, slowly relaxing in his arms and nodded lightly. She didn't know if she believed him, though. She hoped it would survive, though.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Markus laughed at her reaction to him. "It's alright Akila." He said, cradling her. "Totally forgot I was here, didn't you? You were so focused, I'm not surprised." The tiger that should be....isn't....

Akila flushed heavily in embarrassment and nodded, giving a little grin. She scratched the back of her neck and gave the smallest hint of a shrug.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Markus waved dismissively. "Don't worry about it. It's amusing to watch you." He told her with a kind smile. "It's fascinating, when you start acting like that." The tiger that should be....isn't....

Akila's blush darkened at his comment, and she quirked her head to the side. Fascinating?

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Markus reached out, rubbing her ears gently. "Don't worry about it. I'm just rambling now." He said with a laugh. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Akila purred without thinking and cozied against him. After a moment, she stepped back and put her hand to her forehead to an army-style solute. She was ready for duty. She was ready to be put to work.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Markus smiled at her purr. His smiled faded at her actions though. He hadn't saved her only to send her back into danger. "Are you sure?" He asked worriedly. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Akila nodded, looking him in the eyes again. Her response was the same as when he'd asked her when she could talk. She wanted to help or else it was all for nothing. She could help....just not close hand, anymore. He'd recognise her.
