Joshua glanced up at Katalina quickly. She's startled him, as he'd pretty much forgotten the others were there. "I would probably put the answers in the same notebook, right below the question...." He made himself focus, mentally chiding himself for zoning out like that. 'I shouldn't be ignoring people like that! It'd be very rude especially considering all that she'd done for me.' "I probably spent....." Joshua trailed off, figuring how much time was spent on each question. "Uh....Most of the time on his questions. It was amusing though. To try and find a way to explain things that are just common sense to me" He chuckled at himself and how he'd had to fumble for words.

Joey looked at Aoife. "Hey, you can make anything out of nothing, its all how you do it and live your life." He allowed himself to sink under the water, folding his arms across his chest and tucking his legs under him. He held a rock, keeping him down.

Violet was swimming when she spotted something, or someone, in the water....
"must be a human...."
she said to erself clean and clear besides the fact she was under water and swam in that general direction around a reef her purple scales shining as she flicked it and swam...

Katalina shook her head, a little amused. "I wish I could say I was surprised," she replied, satisfied with his answer about the notebooks. "But Nezik never can stop talking. If you want to go again, I could probably distract him long enough for you to get a few questions of your own in. What did he ask you about?" she wondered. There was a lot she wouldn't have been able to tell him, but she figured that Joshua could probably tell him everything. Maybe it had been good for her brother to meet a human, too. Maybe it had been good for everyone that she'd brought Joshua there.

Joshua shrugged. "It's fine. I like the chance to return the favor whenever it happens. I can hardly condone someone for something I myself do so often." He cast back through his conversation, figuring out what Nezik's actual questions were. "Um...It started with the phrase "out the window", I think. He wanted to know what it meant." He traced the conversation through his mind, playing it on fast-forward. "That lead to what a window was. From there, it went to what a door was and it's purpose." Joshua chuckled. "That one was interesting to try and explain." He glanced at Katalina to see if any of this was confusing her. He knew that the mermaid had a decent grasp on humans, but he wasn't sure how far her knowledge extended.

Aoife's eyes widened. She dove under to meet him. "What are you doing?" her voice barely muffled or distorted by the water.

Joey looked at Aoife and grinned, somehow managing it underwater without getting any water in his mouth. He saw a flash of light and gave Aoife a questioning glance. He pointed to where he saw it, unsure of what it was, though it was familiar...He wondered where?

Katalina only chuckled. "He's really sheltered," she said apologetically. "Being as he's currently the only grandson of the patriarch, everyone sort of smothers him. You were probably the first person who actually answered his questions about the world outside - everyone's afraid he'll follow in my footsteps if they tell him too much, I guess," she finished with a bitter smile.
She shrugged lightly. "I bet by the next time you visit, he'll have a list of questions he wants to ask you. Mother will scold him, and he'll just wait until she's not listening anymore to keep asking." With a smile that was small but real, she admitted, "He's the only one of my relatives I can really stand. Him and sometimes Narcis," she added, glancing over her shoulder quickly to be sure the Siren wasn't listening.
