Daemon entered the empty Common Room slowly, his eyes raw and burning from the news he'd recieved. While he hadn't cried, he'd sure got close. He sat down in a chair by the fire sadly. his body was cold. The warmth of the knowledge his mother was safe was... Gone.

"Hold on tight, I'm taking you to hell."

Cosette came into the common room from the girl's dormitory, where she had been unpacking, and noticed Daemon. She approached, about to greet him, when she noticed his expression. Clearly, something was wrong. Concern etched on her face, she slowly walked over and sat in a nearby chair. "Daemon?" she asked. "Are you alright?"

"...Rest in peace..."

Daemon glanced up at the voice. "Oh. Cosette. Nice Christmas? I got a very nice present from the school. Well two. Our Santa got me a Firebolt. The headmistress gave me a letter. My mother, unfortunately, shant be attending any events anymore. She died." He delivered the words with the emotional pitch of a pea.

"...Mother..."

Cosette's eyes widened. "Oh no...!" she murmured. She hugged the doll she had gotten sadly. "I'm so sorry for your loss..." She trailed off awkwardly, unsure of what to say. Ashes meandered over and mewed questioningly.

"...Rest in peace..."

Daemon reached forwards as if to offer the feline his hand but hesitated. Cosette had never offered permission. "This may mean I inherit the family pet, and that will mean a headach for us all. It was an experiment my mother did. Legally, I hasten to add. She never got to decide upon a name, however it resembles a flying crab. As a child, I refered to him simply as 'Bob' and the name stuck. I assure you, He is highly trained and very intelligent, if over loving and rather mischievious. I offer a forward appology if you find him in your dorms. He is a curious critter." He smiled ever so faintly. Having Bob around may help him get an emotion back. Having to care for a flying crab was more tiring than it sounded. Maybe Charon would help. It struck him Charon would like the crab.

"...Mother..."

[YES AKU. BOB IS COMING TO HOGWARTS.]

Cosette nodded permission for him to pet Ashes. Confusion flooded her face at the mention of the pet. "A flying crab? How on earth did she manage that?" His warning made her face darken. "If he harms so much as a single hair on one of my dolls, or Ashes, I apologize in advance, but he won't live very long after doing so." She said this with perfect solemnity, clearly not joking or exaggerating. The crab would die, and that was that.

"She never told me," Daemon said sadly as he petted the cat, playing with it's ears softly. "And my mother had trouble maintaining notes. I suspect she used muggle animals,namely an eagle and a crab. I dread to.." Daemon went silent a second. There were some things eleven year olds were best not to guess at. He rose an eyebrow at the threat, "Bob is trained. He doesn't attack property, or pets. Infact he loves cats. When they hit his shell seems to amuse him." He smiled at the cat. "You'll get prey!" He told the cat, "But you can't eat him. I would be very sad." he patted his lap idly, offering the cat his lap.

"...Mother..."

Cosette was not particularly comforted by this fact. "He had better be trained," she said, still clearly serious about her threat.

Ashes was glad to be pet, but didn't jump onto his lap. That was reserved for Cosette, Iolanthe, and Celandine, at the moment.

"...Rest in peace..."

Daemon smiled humourlessly. It didn't even touch the edge of his mouth, let alone his eyes. "I assure you. Bob is highly trained. Friendly. He enjoys company, so I am fairly certain we will find him following us around but only because he grew rather used to mother...." Daemon's voice trailed off in mid-sentance and he just stared dully at Cosette, his words lost.

"...Mother..."

Levera stumbled into the common room after a long day of classes. She was more exhausted than when she was forced to run ten miles everyday. She scanned the common room and picked out the fluffiest couch to flop down on. With a small groan she fell facedown on top of the couch.

Daemon strode into the common room with a yawn. bob entered behind him, holding a twin in his claw, eating as he scuttled along.

Levera lifted her head as she heard something scuttling across the floor. She jumped slightly as the first thing she saw was a crab scuttling towards her.
"Dua Sekhmet!" She exclaimed as she sat up. "Freaking crab...".
