Artaxes is not a nice person. He is not, and never will be, the sort to seek out for a childish fear or sniffling ouch. He is, however, someone that can be sought for advice, so long as criticism can be born, or, if you have proven yourself to be loyal or at the least not a ‘threat’ to his authority, then Artax can be someone to stare down trouble on your behalf…to a point. The senseless do not long last in his patience, nor do those who suck up to someone with any degree of power. Though ‘senseless’ and ‘inexperienced’ are quite different things. It would be quite difficult to say the boy has friends, More accurately, he has a series of followers, calculated alliances, and rivals. Most of those he interacts with are filed neatly into one of these three categories, though changes over time are considered and taken into careful account as necessary.

He can be intimidating, and not exactly kind, but there is a certain something to him that commands, no, demands respect. He is confident, intelligent, and capable, with a determination the intensity of which can be intimidating all on its own. There is a clear ‘alpha male’ streak to him, and while he is not precisely the sort to pick a fight with anyone who looks at him twice. He has a level of dominance and aggression to him that might put someone in mind of a predator posturing at an trespasser. But Artax possesses a relaxed self-assurance, and certainly a great deal more charisma than a mere bloodthirsty monster. He does not fly at a rival in a fit of temper or rage, his is a much more calculating strike. And yes, there is anger sliding beneath the surface, but it is a controlled and icy cold rage that when tempered with determination and patience has a tendency to be cruelly thorough in its application. Not prone to foolish aggression, or senseless violence, Artax is nonetheless not the sort of person to be crossed lightly. Some rumors have gotten quite out of hand, but in times when that cold icy glare steals into his eyes it is not hard to imagine him capable of rather terrifying things, though this is no doubt where rumors stem from. He does not much care for them either way, and while he does not bother to discourage them he does not actively encourage them either.

He is capable of diplomacy to a point, so long as it clearly benefits him to behave so. However, his own opinions are strong, and while you are entitled to your own, if you should challenge him in any way it is best to be prepared for a fight. So long as you keep quiet, or voice your differences in a mild and conversational manner, civility can be maintained. But pushing any kind of luck or boundary is a poor idea, and Artax is not one to even remotely consider backing down. Not unless doing so is the only way to secure a more total victory, and on the rare occasion that he discovers a method by which to allow an opponent to hang himself with his own words he quite coolly allows them to do so before chewing them out. He dislikes losing any kind of contest, and takes special care, and probably pleasure, in ensuring that any and all victories are total, absolute, and uncontestable, even if that means pushing someone until they break under his attack, verbal or occasionally otherwise.

Artaxes is not necessarily a bad person, he is merely willing to perhaps get a bit carried away. It is in his determination to ‘finish’ an opponent that his reputation for being ‘cruel’ comes into play. Most people, upon meeting him, would find him to be a calmer sort of person, if a bit cool, with a tendency to be both insightful and blunt. He is good with people, and not entirely above a few nudges of manipulation, but sly and sneaking is not his way. As aforementioned, he tends to be blunt and painfully honest in his opinions and views. He does not have to like someone to respect them, and he does not demand more than the same courtesy be extended towards himself. Failure to at least respect him instantly drags you over to his bad side, and no one wants to be there. If you do fall into his dislike, you will be quite informed. Sneaking and skulking about is not his style, Artax has always favored a more direct approach, and does not fear a challenge of any sort.

Just about average height and very fit from his time training under his father, he is only ‘big and intimidating’ in terms of attitude, but there is certainly a lot of it. His posture is very strong, straight back and square shoulders, and he carries himself with confidence. He could easily be termed as handsome, his features could be borderline ‘pretty’ if it were not for the edge in his expression. His eyes are light blue, but the description of ‘icy’ comes from a different reason than the color. His mane he keeps cropped short enough to be convenient. His fur has scars poking through it, and those small marks speak a few words for his experience, and success. After all, if he is still here, whoever left the marks failed.

History

He was small for a youngster, and his kalona blood was 'tainted' by the softness of his mother, an uni mare who stole his stubborn father's heart. Instead of sympathizing when little Artax was pushed around, the stallion simply snapped at him to stop whining and 'get even' instead. The idea stuck, though it may have grown from 'even' to 'overkill' over time he still applies it to most aspects of his life. Work harder. Work faster. Stronger. Better. Always be better. When he lost his family to the fangs of purists, he did not cry or fall apart. He took a step back, calculated his options, and set out on what may be the beginnings of the biggest 'getting even' plan that ever came to mind...
