The Enchanted Forest Pack

A small, family-knit herd started by Bloodmoon and his mate, Little Red. These wolf-blooded Soquili live deep in the forest and behave very much like a wolfpack. Being a mix of wolf and cerynei: some are carnivorous while some are strictly vegetarian, but they share all resources with each other. They are fiercely loyal to each other, and weary of strangers.

Personality: Even though she's a full grown mare, her sheltered upbringing causes her to seem very child-like at times. She's extremely naive and can be a bit brattish - used to getting what she wants as her mother spoiled her. She will pout and stomp her hooves when she doesn't get her way.

History: Little Red was raised in the woods by her overprotected Cerynei mother. She knows nothing of her father - her mother wouldn't speak about him. She was never allowed to go very far away from the thicket they called her home. A few seasons ago, during a particularly harsh winter, Little Red's mother passed away. Little Red was crushed, scared, and lost on what to do.

Eventually, however, her curiosity and restlessness got the better of her and she decided it was time to grow up and head off on her own. Gathering all her possessions in a little wicker basket her mother gave her - and wearing her precious red cloak she had since she was a filly - she set off into the woods on her own, looking to make her own life somewhere out there.

Personality: Despite her wolfish appearance, Quarry takes after her mother more in personality. The Cerynei blood in her makes her skittish and easily frightened, preferring to run away from a conflict than to face it. However, spirits forbid she gets cornered - though she prefers to turn-tail as opposed to fight, when trapped Moon Quarry will make sure she doesn't go down quietly. When panicked she's a wicked and vicious fighter - not only using her sharp hooves but often using a bone knife she carries around with her.

Though quiet and aloof by nature, she is slow to warm up to other Soquili and makes friends. But when she does - she's a very affectionate and loving mare.

History: Moon Quarry is the daughter of Bloodmoon the feral wolf-soquili and the object of his affections, Little Red. Little Red, naive and trusting, was unsure of what was happening to her when she was heavy with Bloodmoon's "pups", not understanding how she could have gotten "little wolves in her stomach". Then one night, after the new foals were tucked in their baskets, twisted creatures were discovered, crawling weakly onto the baskets for warmth, their mouths twisted into permanent twisted smirks, their breath raspy and labored, small, tattered wings useless for flight, instead making a rustling noise whenever they moved. They proved to be difficult to move without harming the baskets, and in their labored hissing breaths they whispered raspy secrets to those who would listen, fortunes of the children they guarded. The one around this basket whispered, "Hssk. Hold yourself high.." The third one chuckled softly, its empty eyes blank as it looked into the distance, "Bury it deep....." Come daybreak, each and every one of the creeping creatures collapsed, becoming little more that leaf litter, having never been living creatures to begin with and blew away without a trace, the Spirits of the Twisted tunnel no longer needing the creatures to guard the baskets as they worked their mischief.

One evening, when the fillies were at the cusp of adulthood, a woodsman who had been tracking their pack confronted them with the intent of killing the wolf-sisters. Not only would their strange wolf-cerynei skins bring a high price, but he was fearful of the predatory soquili, thinking them dangerous. While it is likely if left alone, they never would have posed a threat to the woodsman, when confronted, the three girls turned on him and tore him to pieces to protect each other and their parents. Each filly took something from him to remember the danger that he posed, and to better protect themselves in the future. Bloodhunt took his axe, Moon Quarry took a hand-carved bone knife, and Huntress Amber Moon took his hand, as a warning to those that might threaten her.

Personality: Coique is a distinctly lupine soquili who is tough, generally serious, and ultimately in touch with nature. He embraces his wolf totem and the guidance that it and the spirits grant him. He has a strong, confident presence, but chooses his words carefully when he speaks. He embraces his own spirituality and has found a peace and a balance between stoic protector and lupine personality aspects. He is very aware of his surroundings with a highly developed sense of smell and strong connection with instincts like his father, but a solid, grounded nature like his mother.

History: Coique is the foal of Shaman and Enqueri. Enqueri is very sensitive and very serious, but has a soft spot for Shaman. Shaman is a cheerful, calm soquili who is the light of Enqueris life. She is down to earth, girl next door who is the support that Shaman needs. She's a giver. Their roles/relationships are based after The Sentinel and Guide with Shaman as the Guide and Enqueri as the sentinel.
