If you want to say, "You're my friend now!" in Tagalog, you say: "Magkaibigan na tayo!" If you want to say, "Do you want to be friends?", you say: "Gusto mo bang maging kaibigan ko?" If you want to say, "He/she is my friend." you say: "Kaibigan ko siya." (Note: This sentence is not gender-specific.)

Be careful how you pronounce the word "kaibigan" though.
Because depending on how you say it, "kaibigan" could either mean "friend" or lover... sweatdrop
If you say it quickly, then it will mean "friend"
If you put a stress on the first syllable, then it will mean "lover"

Kaibigan is pronounced
"Ca -- ee -- bee -- gahn"
Ca - as in "cat"
Ee - as in "seek"
Bee - as in... bee sweatdrop
Gahn - as in "gun"
