As though to make up for his earlier slip, Garganth sped forward towards a few clumps of thread, belching out an extra long bit of flame, charring all three of the gathered bits of Thread.
Quote:
Your dragon spots a few clumps of thread being blown about in front of them. If white, green, or blue, they manage to catch a pocket of air and surge forward, flaming down two of the three clumps, before dropping hard and getting the third. No thread's slipping through on your watch! [+3 Target Accuracy!] If brown or bronze, they don't need as much speed, and instead belch a long flame, catching all three with ease. +1 Target Accuracy, +2 Flame Length!]
Ah, another strand! Garganth surged forward despite M'lus' urge for caution. He burned the enemy to a crisp--and yowled with surprise as ash suddenly blew into his face, searing his skin. It wasn't a bad injury at all, but the bronze was humbled by the combination of the pain and his rider's worried disapproval.
Quote:
Your dragon flames a small strand of thread, but unfortunately, a gust of wind blows the ash back into you. Your dragon hisses in pain, and if your face isn't protected, you might get a burn yourself! Thankfully, the burn isn't severe, and your dragon at least can carry on. [+1 Pain Resilience // -2 HP]

It happened again, and before Euryale and Theath could respond properly the clump of Thread was upon them. The rider could only hiss in anger as her shoulder and arm were torn in to, and Theath shrieked against the bite that covered her side and leg. The jump Between killed what it could, but the damage was done.
Can you take any more? Theath, answer and be honest! Euryale was demanding they head back to the Weyr and heal, and her dragon softly agreed. There was too much pain, her eyes were white.

M'lus silently felt for Garganth, checking in to see how he was faring. The big bronze rumbled happily in response, still raring to go despite his minor scores and the gusting winds. This is what he was made to do!

C'sar of Bronze Illiandinth
Although C'sar had been keeping a firm hand on Illiandinth, the bronze would still have his head from time to time. This was an example of that sort of situation, with Illiandinth flaming what seemed to C'sar to be prematurely. However, when Illi was able to scorch the thread from the sky, the rider had to admit his dragon hadn't been wrong.

C'sar of Bronze Illiandinth
Although strong and fierce, Illiandinth was not nearly so good at maneuvering as some of his smaller kin. With a roar of rage, he took thread to the neck, darting between at C'sar's behest so that it might die a cold death.

C'sar of Bronze Illiandinth
Shardit. They'd run out of firestone, somehow. C'sar hadn't dropped any, so clearly Illiandinth's fervor had consumed what had remained in their bag. Bugling, Illiandinth attempted to get a weyrling or retired rider's attention. We are in need of firestone!

The second hour of flight started off well. As T'sar and Adarith appeared from Between after avoiding a clump of Thread, they came upon a much easier target. Adarith flamed it down as they flew by like it was nothing and the two went on to reposition themselves in their wing.
Ah, success just seems to come naturally this firestone run! In fact, you find this easy as pie. Your dragon successfully flies just under the dragon pair, and you're able to easily toss up the stone. There's no trouble here, nope! Nothing but smooth sailing....
