FLYING SECOND WAVE
Low-Altitude

This really isn't the time to be talking about this, Mine. Oyath tried to change the subject as she flamed down a thin patch of Thread, hoping that A'ye did understand that it really wasn't such a good time. It didn't work though as a mental snort came through, hardly like the rider but very appropriate in response.

He's probably worried out of his mind right now, and you had - ugh. Oyath, you had better message Kindeth and let him know I'm fine or so help me you'll have an itchy spot you can't reach for a month.

You wouldn't dare.

There was cold fear in Oyath's voice, though A'ye didn't budge. Try me. The green did not want to try, and so she quickly thought about the pair in question and sent an update.

Good news, Kindeth! A'ye's fine. He's way fine and we're happy flying Thread! Nothing wrong here! The message delivered, she blasted out another clump of Thread before turning her thoughts back to A'ye. He contentedly patted her head, knowing good and well he'd won.

Oyath was going to puke her firestone sludge all over his bed when they got back.

The wind began pushing Kalikath away from the thread he was about to flame. NO/ Determined they hoped between to get it. But realized as they came out they had misjudged the wind. It had been stronger than expected. They could only watch as it caught one of their wing mates unprepared and the wing mate went between screaming.

This was not acceptable. They would have to do better.

Round 4 roll 3: A clump of Thread falls right before you! Unfortunately, the wind pushes you and the Thread away from one another. With determination, you fight the wind, trying valiantly to get to the great enemy! You hop Between, hoping to get closer, and flame the Threads that threaten to fall through! Failure! You overshoot, and miss your target completely. Instead, it falls on one of your fellow wingmates, and they scream in pain as they disappear to the sanctuary of Between. Feeling the guilt well up, the pair tried to stay vigilant. Only, there was nothing there to flame now. It would have helped them feel better to be able to burn some of the dreaded blasted stuff to dust. Now they could only sit there and think on the mistake they had made.

Round 4 roll 4: Nothing to flame quite yet, which is almost a miracle in this sort of Threadfall. Still, you're able to relax a moment, look around, and take note of your airspace. All's well... for now.

I don't know who you think is watching us, Cynosuth, but I don't think they notice when you do that, Dr'stan said gently, as Cynosuth pulled off a feat of acrobatic flying technique. S'del was still a strange mix of bittersweet. Peresa was alive! Though she hadn't seemed happy, part of S'del hadn't registered that it was meant for him. That she was angry at him. Threadfall got people's emotions up, and part of the bronze rider could only focus on the knoweldge that PERESA WAS ALIVE!!

On the other hand, A'ye. He worried for the man, and desperately wanted to know his status. What could be going on down there? Oyath hadn't thrown herself Between but that didn't mean anything.

He'll be all right.... I'm sure of it. Oyath's is strong!

Ah, but even as the dragon flew, he felt a twinge in his wing. His muscles were aching . . . but he wasn't ready to give up the fight. Not this late in the game.

A rider called out for firestone, and Cynosuth rose to the occasion. As she steadied so that Dr'stan could make the toss, she glanced down at her siblings below. They were fighting well, but... something troubled her. There seemed to be someone missing from the formation.

Perhaps Aveth and R'nar were taking things a little too easy; after all, this was hardly their first 'Fall. Somehow both of them missed the stray tangle of Thread that made it down through the higher levels until it was too late for the big bronze to maneuver out of the way. The Thread hit him on the flank, and he bellowed and went Between to kill it.

R'nar winced at his dragon's pain as they re-emerged. That was a stupid, stupid mistake. It would not happen again!
