Ahh! AHH! Galxath squealed, flinging himself between with a shout. A breath, two, three...whew. They reappeared, E'dan trying his damndest to soothe the aching blue, even though his leg was burning.

One more pep talk, one more cycle back to the lowest wing. Thella and Lireloth were still going strong. They had had a few rough patches, even needing to go back to the Weyr after one particularly bad score, but despite their wounds they fought on and, in Thella's opinion, were doing pretty well all things considered.
"One more hour, Lireloth," she murmured, sending encouraging feelings towards her dragon who drank it up. "We can do this."

Still anxious and hurting, another accident was sure to befall the blue...and it did. E'dan threw up a hand to cover his face (not the money-maker!) just in time, but poor Galxath wasn't so lucky.

As they floated down to the lowest level a bit of Thread came with them. Not wanting it to escape their Flame, Thella had Lireloth double back to get it. They did sear it from the sky but the ash that resulted from the attack blew back towards them, the residue stinking flesh on human and dragon. They shook off the pain, though, and pressed on, returning to their spot in the wing.

As if to prove their new focus and determination, Aveth spotted another small clump of Thread that managed to make it through. Not today, Thread! he snarled, flaming it into ash with extreme prejudice.

Roll: 8 - Your dragon dives for a strand of thread that has fallen through the upper wings. Right before they belch forth their flame, they suddenly jerk hard to the right, almost in a roll, and quite unexpectedly. Sure enough, a gust of wind would have whipped the thread back in their face! Instead, the strand whips by, and your dragon is able to successfully flame it. As they blinked the ash from their eyes they missed a clump of Thread falling directly towards them. They only spotted it when it hit Lireloth on his wing, the pain searing the tender membrane as they jumped Between. Upon their return Lireloth grimaced, his flying altered as pain raced along his wing. Thella looked out over the long wing and frowned as she saw the damage done. That was definitely going to scar.

Consider it gone! Aveth replied, swooping to intercept the Thread and charring it into oblivion with a strong flame.

Roll: 17 - A tangle of Thread manages to slip through! Though you try to get it, you're not fast enough, or aim was way off base. Though it doesn't hurt you and your dragon, you do watch as it makes it through the last line of defense, to fall upon the helpless world below. Crops, plants, animals, and even possibly people are now in danger... you can only hope the ground crews will find the burrow safely once Thread is through.
