((OOC: Quick, to the bookshelf! Well, I suppose if we get really desperate, we could always have the girls get busted and the humans have to mount a rescue mission. XD))
Not by word or look did Katalina show how relieved she was, but it was a near thing. Mostly she was worried for Joshua, but a little part of her was secretly, selfishly pleased not to have to go out again. She knew it was just a reaction to having seen her family again, and she knew it was unfair, but there it was. Besides, she didn't know who else she could take him to just off the top of her head. Maybe he had some particular interests...?
"So," she began, probing lightly as she swam lazily back in the direction they'd come from, "are there any other legends you particularly want to meet in person?"

((i have nothing...and i will be leaving tomorrow for a 10 day trip to France and Spain, just so ya know...i'm packing right now)) Joey shrugged. "You could always swim towards the shore and hang onto the rope, keeping out of sight from the mermaid. That way, you wouldn't have to bother pulling."

((Hmm....I shall have to go raid my bookshelf. See what plotlines I can steal.))
Joshua swam with long, steady strokes. "Hmm. Any one in particular?" He repeated Katalina's words, thinking to himself. "Well....Do any hippocampus live near here? I know that they can't talk, but they'd still be interesting to see."
((Ah. Suppers ready! Bye.))

Aoife knew her swimming abilities were dependable enough to get the job done."Okay." She nodded grimly.

((OOC: Well...are you going to Barcelona and/or Paris? *is unwilling to let go of the amazing coincidence*))
Katalina thought for a few minutes, trying to remember. She had never spent much time around the hippocampi, simply because humans interested her more. But she thought she recalled...
"There might be a few," she said hesitantly. "I'd have to check, but I think there are some that are on our way back."

Joshua shook his head, then grimaced, remembering that that happened to be a bad idea. "We don't have to go right now. I just meant at some point." He paused to let his vision return to normal. "You don't need to strain yourself for me Katalina." He didn't want the mermaid to feel as if she had to do this stuff. Sure, she was probably the only way he would find any of it. That didn't mean she needed to.

Katalina glanced at him. It was her turn to be surprised. "Strain myself? Joshua, I really don't mind. I don't visit most of my friends nearly as much as I should - this gives me a good chance to catch up with them," she explained lightly. "It's no trouble."
She liked seeing him interact with her world. It was interesting to see him so fascinated with all the things she took for granted. She didn't want to tell him that for fear of making him self-conscious, but it was true. Had she somehow made him feel that he was a burden on her? Really, it couldn't be further from that. Her issues with her clan were not his fault.

He set off again, vision restored. "Alright." He told her, still slightly worried. "You'd tell me if you didn't want to do something?" He pressed the case slightly. He wanted to be sure that Katalina knew all she had to do was say something and they would change what they were doing. He couldn't help but feel responsible for forcing her to go to her home, where she obviously didn't want to.

((OOC: Yeah, well, I had no time to check in all weekend 'til now, so we're about even. XD))
Katalina's animation faded slightly. Her gaze grew a little unsure. "Well, I...yes. Sure. Sure I would," she said. "Don't worry, Joshua." She glanced over her shoulder, looking a little distant for a minute or two - as though she was thinking of something - or someone - else.
Recalling herself, she repeated, "Don't worry. It's been pretty well my choice wherever we went, remember?" She added this teasingly, as though trying to make him feel better.

"Okay." Joshua decided to take her word for it. There was nothing else he could do, really. 'And it was her choice to go there, I suppose.' He gave a small laugh. "You're right. I guess I just need to relax." He flipped over, swimming on his back. He watched the pale wispy clouds as he swam.
