Tears still streaming down his face, Adrian fell back in his chair with a relieved smile. There was hope yet, even more so than before. More than that, he just got engaged! He let what just happened wash over him as he ran a hand through his hair to take it all in. Finally wiping his eyes and cheeks, he picked Calista up and hugged her tightly. "I think mommy's gonna be just fine now..." he said softly as he got up to leave.
((When in doubt, have some sort of Magneto type guy trying to spread mutate superiority or something like that. Whether through charisma/persuasion and threats or straight up brainwashing.))

"So you and mommy are gonna get married?" Calista asked, having been too happy to see her mother awake to have heard anything up to the very end of the conversation.

"Yeah...Not for a while though." Adrian said with a smile as he walked out of the hospital and took off into the air for home. "Mommy still needs to get better first, and then there's all the planning to do. Not to mention babies need a lot of attention when they're young, so it could still be a year or two once we get Riley home." he told her. "But then I'll be your official daddy." he said giving her a kiss on the forehead.

Calista smiled and nodded, happy to see that her mom and Adrian would finally be getting married.
It was about two weeks later that Adrian and Amaya were able to hold Riley for the first time. when he was finally able to breathe on his own. Amaya was still healing slowly, but the doctors were confident by this point that she would recover. It took Amaya and Riley another month in the hospital before they were able to go home.
Today though, Amaya was finally getting to go home and though she was still hurt, she was healed up enough that the doctors felt comfortable letting her go home and finish recovering there so she could be with her family. Amaya wasn't about to be the last one in the hospital when her baby was going home today. As she sat in the wheelchair and waited for the driver of some car company Adrian had called, Amaya held Riley close to her, the baby wrapped up in blankets while Calista stood next to them, practically jumping she was so excited.

"So to your knowledge, there's no one else out there that's going to want your head, right?" Adrian asked while they waited for the car to get there. "No more....jerks from the arena that are going to come after you or the kids, right? Besides our good friend Mr. Northman who shouldn't be getting out of jail ever, of course."

"As far as I know, no." Amaya sighed, patting Riley's back gently as the baby started to fuss. "Not like I have any control over idiots." She muttered, just happy it was at least a bit harder to put her kids in the middle of it now.

(Meh >< Okay, I'll come up with a better reply....
.....Okay, I got it. About a year from freedom, there was one monster tired of humans (which happens a lot) So like the terrorist thing, and there was an incident. Humans get scared. Both have a large conflict....then monsters forced onto some island trapped just like the arena yet now its a prison. During the years, monster win it back and now we have an island........
........nvm. I have nothing x-x Ingore that *slashes it* I got nothing...)

"Good. Because I think I used up my allowance of worry for the rest of my life. I don't think my heart could take anymore." Adrian said clutching his chest a bit as the car finally pulled up. When Amaya was about to die, he really thought he was going to have a heart attack.

"Sorry. Parenthood is still going to make you worry in other ways." Amaya said as she slowly rose from the wheelchair and put Riley in the car seat. Calista crawled in, taking a seat next to him before Amaya followed, also sitting with Riley now, tickling his stomach to make him giggle a little.

"Okay, but I'm tired of worrying over you. Can't I just keep you at home and cut down on the chance of someone trying to kill you?" Adrian half joked as he crawled in. "Becoming a hermit sounds awesome."

"I'll get fat if I just become a hermit and stay in the house. I don't want to be a fat hermit." Amaya muttered, still tickling Riley, smiling as he began squealing with laughter.

"The hospital food wasn't that bad. Certainly better than the feeding tube I was on for a week." Amaya told him with a dry look. "Don't be so quick to think that my near death experience has completely changed my outlook on life."
