I wish there was something I could do. I hate to see someone like you homeless on the street of poverty.... I'm suddenly reminding myself of Starfire from Teen Titans. *Shakes head*
I hope your situation improves soon Ladi
*Heads off to bed with aretoo... once he gets the sheets out of the drier*

Honestly if I could get enough money together and could find a place to have my stuff and my daughter and I rent free for a few months I could save up enough money to buy a house straight out from a tax deed auction.
Right now my boyfriend and I can only scrap together 3K We need 6-10K for a halfway decent house. 3K will only get us land that can't be built on, no building.
I wouldn't be so scared about it if I didn't have my daughter...and it wasn't freezing out right now.
But I do thank you all for the well wishes, I am not giving up yet XD
Goodnight aretoo & Kusa

Ladi, I could most definitely help you in my own small way, and I'm sure people here would be willing to help you out monetarily if you needed it.
Facebook allows for causes and you could probably set something up via some internet donation system or another so your interwebz pals could do something. As it stands I'm unemployed and could only chip in a small amount but I would love to be able to do anything to help someone in need if you would accept it.

I would feel bad taking (especially real money) from people and not giving anything back in return. That and I wouldn't know how to go about asking people for it... I am sure that isn't really allowed on Gaia, no matter what I am offering in return.

I don't think charities are against Gaian policy (evil computer... this thing is worse off than I remember)
At least not if you just link people to a facebook page that just so happens to have a cause on it that is yours.
People link to other donatable causes all the time, I don't see why we couldn't help if we wanted to. If anything you could give us your address and we could show up with fruit baskets and apple pies and hugs and moneys and stuff.
But I am really tired and falling asleep... if you haven't already.
What would honestly feel worse though, Ladi? Just think about it, because I'm sure I'm not the only one who would feel like helping.

Goodnight aretoo & Kusa Kals is questing again! 10K for a house? Where do you live and why don't I live there? I don't think I could even make a 10k down payment on a house and get it with a mortgage. I don't anticipate ever owning my home in my lifetime unless something unforeseeable happens... Like I marry someone rich or I win the lottery. The cheapest, crappiest house for sale in this area is still well over 100k.
Living on the streets is actually quite feasible here during the summer months, but I wouldn't do it if I had a kid. $50 per month or so for a storage shed for my belongings, $65 for a bus pass, $50 for a cell phone with a plan instead for the $10 I'm paying now for pay as you go, $50 for a YMCA or Edmonton Leisure Centre pass so I can shower... $215 is a lot cheaper than the average rent of $1000 in this city. Heck, if I was homeless, I could probably afford a car.
Check sig for details!

Slim should be along any moment. I'm just passing through, actually. I've got to pack and move my stuff in a minute to get to class. I'll be back on in a few minutes, though! Three hour course with a plug on the back wall and a nice corner to hide in. Can't beat it.
