Kalstolyn Kals is questing again!Well, Mike went back to Lethbridge after being here for reading week, which makes me sad and lonely. And a couple hours after I left, I got the news that my friend and mentor's second round of chemo didn't work, there are breast cancer cells in the base of her brain, and they can't do anything but give her meds for the pain and wait for her to die. Check sig for details! Wait. Breast cancer cells in the brain? O.o Thats kinda odd

Aaaig, Kals! eek This has been a bittersweet week for you at best, hasn't it? The accident you witnessed, your other friend, Mike's short visit, and now this???
On the plus side, perhaps she'll be one of those that just hangs around long after the expected time of departure... we can only hope...
On an ENTIRELY different note, we just watched a Season 3 FarScape with Chuck Jones animation... how very odd... smile

Kals is questing again!Thanks aretoo. I didn't even mention the skank-ho drama of last night. *shudder*
Hatman: if breast cancer is not killed off completely by removing any cancerous tissue from the breast(s) and by the chemo, it will spread throughout the body. Brain is the most likely location for masses to show up, and that's how most people who die from breast cancer go, as far as I understand. Check sig for details!

The lymph system is the other place it tends to go towards.
However, there's always hope; a lot of cancer victims become cancer survivors for years and years and YEARS after they were "supposed to have" died. So... hang in there, and be positive for her; that'll be great help! mrgreen

She's vomiting and having seizures and fainting all the time. It's pretty clear that the end is near. We had plenty of hope when the cancer originally showed up in her brain just before Christmas, and she stabilised on the meds they gave her and then got better after chemo, which ended about three weeks ago. It returned too fast.
