And suddenly, as he was watching everything, he was pushed to the side and knocked down to the hot sands. He landed with an 'oof' and a hiss from the impact before he just scrambled on hands and knees to try to get out of the way completely.

See Rham, this is the worst decision you could ever make! Show up late, talk to a pretty girl, then get right in the way of dragon violence. The perfect day. He ignored the voice for his own safety and once he thought he was out of the way, he stood up and just groaned.

Another egg suddenly hatching made Caderyn jump, his eyes moving to the large bronze that appeared. The anger from it was evident and he took a step backwards, he had felt that anger at the touching. Seeing it moving so quickly over the sands, not caring about harming any of the candidates as it was wanting to go through them as quickly as he could to reach his brown brother and stop him.

Seeing the two tussle with one another Caderyn began to worry about them. This wasn't normal and they needed to stop before they hurt themselves. He looked around at those around him, all watching this. If he said anything, would they stop? Would they even listen. "Enough! Find your bonded! Do not squabble!" He was feeling brave all of a sudden.

-------------------------------------------------------------

The bronze appearing got a look from Dorianus and he kept his hand on Ichta, nodding to Goran when he saw the boy look at him. The fighting that started got his attention but then he heard Caderyn shout out at them. Was he trying to stop them?

He stayed in his spot, watching what was going on.

Nadry's hand was squeezed back, Ichta still unable to look away from the brown - which only compounded as the large striped egg burst open without a moment of hesitation. A beautiful bronze. She couldn't even think about that fully as it launched, ready to do battle as needed. Dorianus's hand was leaned into and her grip on Goran's shoulder tightened as Ichta braced herself for the potential of impact.

This was bad. This wasn't what anybody should have wanted.

"Stop it," she whispered quietly, unable to look away from the two dragonets and doing her best to not just start shaking. Ichta found herself finally tearing her eyes away to look towards the Golden Dragon that had, in a way, initiated everything. "Make it stop, please..." she whispered, even if it wasn't likely to do anything, her options were try and find a way to hope for the best - even if it was pleading words - or let the overwhelming emotions of the scene in front of her get the better of her.

The second was still likely.

Although the golden dragonet seemed little concerned by the bits of shell that flew at her, she did watch the fight with a faintly worried gaze. Had she been right to call out her champion? It had seemed like the right thing to do at the time, but the little gold just didn't know. Maybe she'd been too hasty. He was so angry! And well he might have been, given what the Devil had done, but this was her doing. She had unleashed this rage, and now it flamed unfettered at her other brother. She backed up a step, watching, wings slightly spread.

It was then that another figure arrived, seemingly out of nowhere. The Tower had shed his shell, standing tall. With his brown head raised, he let out a bugle of defiance, repudiating his brothers' tyranny! The Devil should not have commanded others, but neither should the Emperor. And now, with the Emperor lunging for his Brown brother, the Tower interposed himself between what nearby Candidates he could shelter and the tussling forms of his brothers.

Her focus drawn on the brown, she hardly noticed the bronze until he blasted past her. She'd have felt the breeze of his passing, if she hadn't instead felt the grip of his wing claws on her shoulder wrenching and pulling her out of the way. If she'd been a dancer, she might have thought the pirouette that resulted impressive, before she was thrown to the sands, gripping the shoulder that had been attended by the brown and curling on the sands, biting back tears and trying to ignore the spray that had fallen behind her and started soaking into the sands.

Luiciand did not face palm. Yet he wanted to so bad. "Caderyn..." He said quietly frustrated. "Aren't we supposed to not upset the dragons?" More than they already were. It was obvious those two had somethings to work out between them. And of course there was the added wrinkle of the gold that seemed frantic almost. He could only hope they didn't come any closer than they already were. Don't come maul us please. Unless it means impressions for us, then maul away.

Vitre

For the first time Vitre dropped back into his seat on his own as a bronze—big and strong and brave like he'd told Nebbi a bronze would be—instead began to fight its brown brother. He...hadn't known that hatchings could turn bad, turn aggressive, and he'd seen now how the candidates could end up hurt or in the way. The dragonets were so much stronger than they looked, and they seemed entirely centered on each other, ignoring their would-be partners to instead go after each other. They were brothers, weren't they? Through his mind's eye flashed the image of his own brother, all of eight turns old and as gentle as a summer breeze. Siblings fighting...it didn't upset him enough that he wished not to be there, but his eager pointing and jabbering stilled to fretful concern as he looked on. "...Someone will stop them, right?" He asked no one in particular.

Uridith

Down below, the drama had not gone unnoticed by the large golden mother. When Empress hatched her humming song rose in a crescendo of delight, just for her. Of course, when Emperor hatched and leapt onto his brother, sending both rolling and biting and clawing, her eyes slid from blue to yellow with anxiety. This was the worst time to fight, but still she refused to budge. Her lashing tail's tip betrayed the gold's worry, but only her mental voice reached out, rippling with calmness to try to soothe the combatants. Please now darlings, there are more than enough candidates to go around. You've already knocked one down, you should go and find your own, quietly, and stop this mess. The faintest hint of orange flicked through er eyes as well. These were her children, and on some level she expected better of them, even if she did love them unconditionally.

Rham had looked around for her as soon as he got himself to his feet.

..And he found her with her shoulder ripped open. He swallowed hard and moved to take off his shirt as he ran over to her and bit down on his bottom lip. "Hey, hey!" He said, trying to keep his words gentle and easy. He pushed his shirt toward her shoulder. "Come on. Let's get you backed up so we can tend to this. Are you OK to movie?"

Shards and flaming Shells! Goran jolted as the striped egg seemed to explode, and he could only imagine the wrath that must be pulsing through the enormous bronze hatchling. It brutally clawed, bit, and tore its way through the crowd of Candidates, seemingly hellbent on making its way towards the brown dragon. The boom of the bronze's voice made his fists clench, but he forced himself to relax as to not hurt Nadry's hand.

With gritted teeth, he watched as the two hatchlings snarled and fought, feeling as though he should somehow intervene but knowing that would be an absolutely idiotic thing to do. It served that sharding brown right, he thought savagely. Trying to take all the attention for itself, not even trying to find its sharding partner! It upset the gold again, so there was little wonder the bronze had finally had enough.

Ichta's whisper made him twitch slightly, and with a growl, Goran shrugged off her hand and released Nadry. Guess he was about to do an absolutely idiotic thing.... but, before he could take more than a few steps, the Tower suddenly burst forth, making to shield the Candidates. His eyes were wide, and he glanced back to meet Nadry's gaze for a moment.

Hating the fact that he had come to his senses, Goran resisted the urge to jump into the fray. He carefully took hold of Farensil behind the back and under the legs, scooping her up as though she weighed nothing at all even as he kept a wary eye on the dragonets. "All right?" He grunted at her, pausing so that the boy nearby could look at her shoulder. "Back here. C'mon." He rumbled at Rham, wanting to retreat so they wouldn't get caught in the fray.

-_Wish of Tevarae_-

E'ion was safe. The greentrider was a safe person. He knew where she'd come from and the girl slowly used her good, uninjured arm to cling -- not tightly so as to upset his dragon -- she didn't mean to if she did, but for the comfort she was seeking, the Candidate fiunally beginning to sob.

"I just want them all okay. I want them happy and I'm not good enough to help with it." She finally admitted, voice cracked. "I want everyone happy and safe and it's all wrong, and I didn't follow the rules and I was only trying to help the babies like I did back home and I'm sorry I messed everything up and now the babies are upset."

Was she blaming herself?... Yes. Yes she was, and the girl began crying into the greenrider painfully. Sher just wanted everything right again, everyone happy, and bonded, and for things to be normal. She just wanted it right!

Kyt & Green Rath

Kyt had been awake for a while before the hums began to catch through the Weyr. She had her nose buried deep in some old texts that she had been carefully transcribing over to new parchment, as they were starting to almost deteriorate in their old age. As Rath began to hum, joining her voice to the throng Kyt startled, instinctively moving her hands away from the parchments to keep from spilling ink on them. She glanced up excitedly to Rath who simply nodded.

The pair arrived among the earliest groups of observers, and Kyt settled herself into the lower rows surrounding the bowl as Rath took off to find an appropriate perch for herself. For a moment the young woman held her breath as she watched the candidates pour into the bowl. It wasn't that long ago that she was in the very same position. Some of the faces had stood with her even. Silently she wished each and everyone of them luck in finding their mate on this day.

N'var & Brown Soreth

N'var was dead asleep in the early hours still, and not even Soreth humming woke him up. The brown stared an angry hole in his mate before pushing his nose into the room from his perch and angrily shoved the man off of his bed and onto the floor unceremoniously. He paused briefly in his humming to stare down at the still half asleep man. Get up. Dress. The hatchlings come!

Much to Soreth's disappointment they arrived late to the bowl. The first few hatchlings had already appeared. He huffed in annoyance as his rider slid carefully from his back before spreading his wings with an over-exaggerated beat and took off to find a spot to perch. N'var on the other hand simply shook his head with a laugh and started off to find a seat. He paused to look down and check on the progress of the hatching, struggling to contain his amusement as he watched the little green from the Fool Egg push the Wheel of Fortune Egg around the sands.

Adairan

Adairan started from his cot, eyes wide at the sudden ringing voice in his head. He scrambled from where he lay, limbs all scrambled into each other as he tried to jump up and only succeeded in landing on his face and flipping the cot over onto himself. The gangly boy blushed and righted himself, slowly this time, setting his small part of the room back to normal before he grabbed his robes and sandals and scrubbed his face before hastily changing and heading down to the sands.

As he entered with the rest of the candidates he bowed respectfully to both Uridath and Takarath before finding a place for himself among the other boys, neither with them nor away from them. He was simply another face in the crowd as he waited and watched with baited breath. He startled hard when the first egg finally cracked, like everyone else he had been intent on watching the Wheel of Fortune egg while it had rocked. He glanced to the little green who had startled him and felt a sympathetic pang of camaraderie. He knew how hard it was to move with limbs that seemed intent of making a fool of you at every turn. He cringed moments later however as Amila was badly mauled. Still, even if she had been driven by good intentions she should have known better. They had been told many times to never do something so reckless or foolish.

The next few minutes were lost on Adairan as he remembered that he had to breath. In that time he took the chance to look around for his sister before shaking his head and frowning. Like keeping track of all of these hatchlings it was most likely impossible. His attention was taken back to the crack of the Devil Egg and he took an uncontrolled step back. He wasn't keen on crossing paths with the angry brown. His anxiety was only increased by the appearence of a very irate gold, but he stopped to catch his breath. She was lovely. Even if she would never be his. But perhaps she might be Aliane's. He was shaken at the Devil's sudden voice. Against his better judgement he took a hesitant step forward. First one and then a second. He backtracked just as quickly though once the Emperor appeared. Shards! What in the world was going on? Were all hatchings this confusing and scary?

If her words were what was going to spur Goran out to do something stupid, Ichta would between herself. It was likely only because she had Nadry and Dorianus holding onto her that she didn't trail off after him to stop him - and fortunately, she didn't have to. Another egg burst open and another brown joined the field, throwing up his own defiance and stepping up in defense - in the same way that Goran himself did. Ichta would probably make the comparison later when she wasn't a bundle of nerves.

It was hard to find one thing to focus on - dragonet fight - the gold - the brown - Goran - the injured girl he was bringing back - the boy who had been later - the fight - gold-Goran-fight-Goran-brown-Goran. She looked nearly ready to cry as he finally fell back to their group and if Ichta had been a more bold woman, she probably would have had a piece of mind she was willing to give him.

Instead, all she could manage came out shakily. "Please don't do anything too rash." Then, she looked to Dorianus. "Do you have anymore bandages?" Anything they could use to start fixing up the bleeding on Farensil? She'd tear up her own robe if needed.

Just as Rham stood up, he would find himself thrown down into the Sands again. It was less violent than the Emperor, but surprising all the same. A heavy weight stepped upon him, though the creature did at least try to avoid hurting him with her claws.

But it is the most perfect day, Mine, now that your Lemath is here! The voice was happy, amused, and Rham would be overwhelmed with unending love, fondness, and mischievous feelings. The Fool had found her Candidate, after all. You are the best decision I could ever make. You're not hurt, are you? We've too many adventures to go on to be hurt!

The green reached down to nuzzle at the boys face, her eyes a whirling rainbow of color as Impression was made. She knew that he was covered in sand, and a bit ragged from the days events. Furthermore, she was ignoring her bickering siblings, because really, there was nothing more important than Rham.

The Devil had been frightening, yes, his oily insistence that they come to him deeply unsettling, but the explosion of the Emperor from his shell was worse. The brown hadn't hurt anyone, but the bronze was a whirlwind of fury - clawing, tearing, ripping down anyone in his path, and not even because he was upset with them, but because they were in the way of his tearing into his brother. It was awful. It was wrong. It made her want to cry. Before, she had looked forward to the hatching of the striped egg, knowing it was the one Goran found special, but now...

She squeezed his hand hard without thinking, Ichta's as well, and unconsciously tried to pull them in closer to her, as though they might all be safer that way. But in that same moment, Goran released his grip, apparently intent on doing...something. And then finally, in the midst of everything, the Tower erupted from his egg and moved to shield the Candidates from his siblings' war. But she had no time to admire him, or wish, or for her heart to sink because he was brown. There was room for none of that, only worry. Fear for her new friends and what might become of them in the next few moments.

There was an urge to follow Goran, not only for the safety he represented but to help, to do something besides stand and stare, but odds were she would be more likely to get in the way and be a liability than provide any aid. Ichta spoke, and drew her from the edge of panic. She swallowed and asked, "What should I do? Is there anything I can help with?"

Besides stand here like a useless, frightened deadglow. In that moment, she hated herself for not being more.

Seeing Goran leave their group made Dorianus raise an eyebrow. He was going to call out to him, to get him to come back. He seemed to come to his senses fairly quick though and brought back the girl that had been torn into by the bronze. His eyes looked over the wound as Goran carried her over to their group.

Ichta asking if he had any more bandages got a nod from Dorianus though he moved to Goran and the girl, checking her shoulder as he did so. It didn't seem to be too deep, which was good and meant no stitches would be needed. He unwrapped another piece of bandage from his arm, hoping he wouldn't run out before this was over. He was ignoring the fighting dragonets and the other that hatched.

Nimble fingers wrapped the bandage around her shoulder before he spoke. "That should be good. Do you feel light headed?" His attention turned to Nadry then, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Are you alright?"
