The one benefit of being class level 1 is that I don't have to roll HP. The downside is, well, low HP. sweatdrop

Ok, Im going to be a pain in the a** with this... but Im sorry. I was thinking, and Im not sure I want to be a paladin. I dont really like the whole... diety driven thing. I want a character who has a slightly plainer backround, so I was thinking maybe just a fighter.

How horrible would just a plain fighter be? I dont like most pretige classes... they are too specialized most of the time.

Oh, and would you like us all to fill out one of those character description things?
Go ahead and be a fighter. With a party of six people, two fighters would be fine.

And I don't need the charactor discription unless you want to do it. I needed Shadow to give some extra charactor information as a requirement for taking the half-celestial template.

I enjoy character creation. razz

If you'd like MrJimmy I could change that little bit of info. Thestari could have settled on the island beforehand to get away from the nations so his reason for being on the island could still exist, just change it from protecting the Cumbrians to protecting his master's island. (though obviously nations don't care if one man wants to claim an island if they want what he has.)
I'm not compleatly sure it would work out with the story, the island was only just discovered, and explored extensivly, no other humaniod has been found to live on it before now, and it wouldn't explain why you're in the Cumbrian army.

Yes, I will let you take the 21 instead of the 13.

Alright, sounds good. Il should be able to post my character sheet soon, later tonight maybe. I dont think it will take me long to make a fighter...

Perhaps if Thestari, being a Cumbrian himself, were influential he could have sent his apprentice for both reinforcement and 'real experience'.

This is true, but in that case would you want to be simply an aid to the Cumbrian army, like a free agent? Or would you want to actually gain rank in the army?

Free agents can be pretty interesting because they can be given varying levels of authority. He might never have political pull because he lacks rank, but it keeps him free and also allows the military to assign him wherever they need him without lots of paperwork. Just say "this job's done, we need him. . . here." Although it might make it hard for him to remain part of his unit that way. . .

I was thinking that perhaps, since he is a fully fledged wizard now (past apprenticeship) perhaps he was convinced to sign up as the next step. I could do that.

I'm actualy fine either way, it sounds to me like you have both planned out farily well, so which ever way you wish to go is fine with me, just give me the heads up when you make a final decision.

For the sake of the party it would be best if he joined up. Otherwise there's a chance of him being sent elsewhere when that way he'd be a part of their unit. It would be better I'm sure. wink

{Edit:} Oh, and how do you see/modify our character sheets on that site?
PostPosted: Sat Apr 29, 2006 11:00 pm

Ahh, good question.

On the main page, log in and then look for the option in the top menu marked "Tools"

Now you're in a pull down menu, about halfway down there is a subheading called "Charactor Database" the first link there is "Charactor Options" click it.

Now you're in a new area, the background is black. All you have to do now is type in the desired name for the charactor sheet, it dosn't have to be the name of the charactor, but it makes it easier to find if you make more then one charactor later on. The pulldown menu under the "Charactor name" writable section is not used, just click the create charactor button.

Now you're in a new window that shows a charactor sheet. From here simply click and type in what you wish. At the very bottom are two buttons, one marked with Save, and another marked with Reset, don;t click reset unless you wish to remove all the information on the page, and always click save before closing the window!

Important Note: After you make acnd save a charactor sheet, make sure you go to the bottom of the black background page and select your character in the pulldown menu. At the top is a button that should say somthing like "Make charactor public" select it or I won't be able to see it.

Ok, I made him but I didn't know how you would see him. Also, I was wondering what equipment he would have. I had missed the information you put in about equipment before creation so I created him with a budget set for 5th level characters. Take a look and tell me what to remove, I'll edit it. (I made him out to be more of a messenger at his level. writing supplies, parchment, stuff like that.)

{Edit:} http://www.dndonlinegames.com/view.php?id=37357 There you go.

Okay I checked it over. You have made some good choices, I'll let you kep what you have. I believe your rank might require you to do some writing anyway.

There won't be much opertunity to buy things, so the money you have won't be too useful, but keep it, you might be able to find a use for it.

You do want us to submit our characters without equipment and items though, correct?
PostPosted: Sun Apr 30, 2006 5:16 pm

Jim, you're having me make/control that NPC. What level should I make him? Higher than the PC's? Am I to outfit him? Because, you're seriously a gimped character if you can't have stuff equal to your ECL's treasure value.

When we have our characters submitted do you want them listed in the intro so everyone can see who is approved? Then the players would have a little better idea of just how close they are to play time. razz (I must admit that I'm a little antsy. This will be my first chance to play D&D since Nov '04)
