 Joshua ignored the siren's first comment. He didn't take in stray!....Well, maybe he did....He pushed that thought to the side. "Look Narcis, we're helping each other, alright?" He shrugged. "Neither can do this alone."

"So the mer-person was not Katalina? I saw the boat, I followed it here, but I lost them when they left in a van." Rose spoke up, glancing warily at the siren. She felt as if she was a pet or item being talked about. "If you don't mind me asking, who are you? You are related to Katalina?" she asked, studying the siren.

Lucian frowned, “Lucian is not insulting fish…Lucian said fish is pretty…” His lips poke out even more as he glanced back and forth between Josh and the Siren. He glanced back at Josh and spoke inside the others head, ‘I miss you, but it seems that you have gotten yourself in trouble. Anything I can help you with?’ His eyes kept glancing over at the shiny item the human girl held up. She was distracting him greatly.

Narcis sighed. "As you say," he replied. "I would like it if you would send your strays away so that we can go fetch Nezik before something happens to him."
When the human girl spoke to him, he eyed her for a moment or two, seeming to debate what to tell her. Finally his honesty won out. "I am Narcis," he replied coolly. But when she mentioned having seen the capture take place, his eyes darkened. He looked as though he was about to speak, but did not - although clearly he was angry. What about was anyone's guess.
He only glanced briefly at Lucian, although that might just have been because he assumed the dragon was addressing Joshua - or because the Siren was too caught up in what the girl had just told him. "Not a fish," he grated, before returning his attention to the humans.

Joey sighed. He sneezed before righting himself. He gave the sky one last glance before deciding that he was hungry. He splashed and began to swim back to shore, taking his time. He was thinking about what Joshua was dealing with, no longer paying attention to the world around him.

((Sorry, parents shut down the computer for the weekend cause we have company. I just managed to sneak on for a few minutes.))
Joshua sighed and glanced at Lucian. "Would you stop calling Narcis a fish?" He directed his thoughts at the dragon. 'I don't need him hating me even more than he already does. And yeah, there's trouble. Katalina's younger brother has gone missing. We're trying to find and free him. Any help would be appreciated.'
The teen turned towards Narcis. "Lucian could help us with this. We may need his help. He could be useful." All valid reasons of course, but honestly Joshua missed Lucian's sense of humor. It was nice to have the dragon back.

Narcis raised an inquiring brow. "Should we await all the rest of your strays, too, in case they may come in useful?" he asked sardonically. Then abruptly growing serious, he simply shook his head. "Bring him, then. But if there is anything, anything at all, that he does that keeps us from bringing Nezik home safely to Sorry, I will personally gut him."
It was a curious way to phrase the threat; not bringing Nezik home, or home to his family, but home to Katalina.
Not seeming to realize this, Narcis turned away from them and began walking towards the town.
It was difficult enough, he thought bitterly, to tolerate the human. He did it because Sorry had asked him to, and because it would help him bring Nezik home, but it didn't mean he had to like it. Now he had to deal with this dragon.
Cousin, he thought, you owe me.

Lucian bared his fangs for the first time in a long time. The Siren’s attitude was getting under his skin. Then Lucian grinned, he realized something…he was getting under the Siren’s skin. He shrugged and looked at the Siren, “Lucian would love to help out Joshua and the fish.” He glided over to the Siren with as much sex appeal that he owned. His finger graced over the Siren’s cheek. Lucian cooed, “As long as Lucian get to pleasure you before you gut him…”

Narcis jerked away from the dragon's touch, a flash of something almost like terror in his eyes briefly and sharp teeth bared for just a second. "Don't touch me," he almost snarled. It was not just Lucian - he had never been able to bear being touched. The only two he could stand were Katalina and Riiya - odd, considering how different they were.
He toyed with the idea of leaving the group there - he could surely find Nezik on his own from here, with the plan all mapped out. But if he abandoned the human, in danger or not, he realized, Sorry would have his hide. And apparently the damned dragon came with the human.
"Joshua," he said sharply, turning away. "I make no promises as to how long I can ignore it." Jerking his chin at Lucian, he finished icily, "If you want it to come along, then control your animal."

Rose handed the bracelet to Lucian, trying to distract him. She gently directed him in Joshua's direction. "You don't like humans, why?" she asked Narcis, quietly so only he could hear. She shuffled her feet, glancing at him, hoping he wouldn't lash out at her for asking. She bit her lip, an old habit, drawing a bit of blood.

Narcis turned to her, his gaze still icy. "If merfolk invaded the lands you had held for centuries, polluting it, destroying your food sources, causing the extinction of some races and driving the remainder into hiding, do you think you would hold much love for them?" he asked. "My missing kinsman trusted humans." He gestured towards the town. "You see where that got him."
Turning his back on the girl, he stared broodingly at the town below.

Lucian tucked the bracelet in his pocket and walked back over to the Siren, “Lucian wants to play with fish…” He ran his hands through his hair and focused on the Siren. “What one does, does not deem the whole race.”

"Not all humans are alike. Humans don't just hurt others they hurt their own kind just because they are not all the same." Rose said softly quickening her step to walk beside him, looking down at her feet. "Not everybody who is human wishes to be so. If I could be one of your kind I would gladly choose to be. I was born n a village on an island not far from this one, I was born on a beach and practically raised in the water. My mother told me stories, legends of the sea and the people that dwell in its beautiful depths. Some people believed my mother had siren blood in her, she would never tell me though. I never felt like I belonged on land and after my mom died that feeling never went away, it grew stronger......." she continued on quietly, talking to herself as much as she was talking to Narcis.
