Mala grinned all the wider. "I think that might just be it." After a moment she went on saying, "I remember well how we'd always fight early on - back when you were still trapped in the ring that first time. It was over the silliest issues, too!"

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"The more things change, the more they stay the same..." Van mused. "I mean, more than five hundred years and I'm still the one doing all the cooking!" Van teased.

"Aw, the little boy's got brains I see! Or are you just too chicken to try and take me out yourself, if that's what you want so badly?" Daemon taunted.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"That's not such a bad thing, though, now is it?" Mala joked with a slight giggle. "I would think all of the 'benefits' you get outweigh the 'extra work'."

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"What, I stop cooking and you stop giving me love?" Van said, doubtful that that was the case.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"Of course not!" Mala said, thinking that she might've misspoke without realising it. "I was just joking about how cooking's not such a bad thing when you consider everything else we get to do. Besides, I'll eventually learn how to cook. Or fry my hands off trying, at least." she then said, the last sentence obviously another joke.

"Then I'd just magic them right back on." Van said with a smile as he took one of her hands in his.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"And then I'd have to find a way to thank you for that." Mala replied with a broad grin.

Larai soon felt like she was well-rested enough to get through the day, and slipped on out of her bed. She considered just going on and sitting beside their 'pool', watching the waters ripple at her touch and wondering if any fish'd ever live inside.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Please, ma'am, no payment necessary." Van said in mock policeman voice. "Helping folks like you is my job." he said before dropping the voice. "Well, folks I'm in love with, related to, or friends with at any rate."

"I'm not a coward, you bat-winged freak!" Kai said, now trying to swing at Daemon while being held back by a hand placed on his head.

"Boy, you couldn't lay a scratch on me." Daemon said with a laugh. "You'd be torn to shreds before you had the chance."

 

[M3Gnificent]

Mala laughed, pulling his hands towards her to kiss them. "I love you."

Before long, Larai headed out of the house and towards the man-made lake. Along the way as she passed by the ruins, she sang a cheery melody to herself.

"Hey, no stealing my gig! Hand-kissing is supposed to be the guy's job!" Van joked with a smile. "I love you too, but I'm sure you already know that by now."

 

[M3Gnificent]

"I do. Also..." Mala smirked up at Van. "If I'm not supposed to kiss here, then where should I? The cheek? The lips?"

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"I'd say the rest of the body is free for kissing. I just like to think I still have some chivalry in me." Van said with a smirk of his own.

 

[M3Gnificent]

Mala chuckled, getting up to go over and sit herself in his lap. "Whoever said you weren't chivalrous? You certainly are my knight in shining armor~"

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"I don't know, armor's never been my thing. Too heavy, noisy, and hot. Very hard to steal anything in." Van joked. "And I think we can both agree that horses are just uncomfortable to ride on after a while."

"If you aren't my knight in shining armor you are..." Mala began, thinking for a moment before she continued, "you are my thief with a golden dagger. You stole my body and my heart and I can't help but long for more. ♥"
