((OOC: Probably not, especially because he has the hots for someone already sadly.))
Narcis smirked faintly at Lucian. "But it does," he replied smoothly. "If one mistreats the ocean and injures the creatures in it, we must be wary of all, for the second one we trust might be like the first. What is the human proverb...'Once bitten, twice shy'?"
When the girl told her story, Narcis merely shook his head. "It is unlikely," he said dismissively. "There are few Sirens that mate with humans, even fewer than mermaids, and of those, their children often die at birth. They are not very...compatible." He shrugged. "Did I say all humans wish to be human? I don't believe so. You asked why I dislike humans and I told you why. There is little more to be said."
He looked at the sign of the town that they were entering. Welcome, it said. He couldn't help but wonder if they would be so welcome once they left - and with any luck, with the town's brand-new treasure in tow.

((Ooooh.........who does he like? biggrin sorry eating peeps at night makes me hyper LOL))
Rose shuffled her feet. "I'm gonna go see if I can find where the van went." she mumbled before slipping away down a side street. She knew the city quite well and she had a vague idea of where the fishers would take a merman. There were several buildings to check however and they were not that close together.

Joshua groaned, watching the pair. "Lucian would you just leave Narcis alone?" 'Please? I really actually do need his help. Which mean I need him not busy hating us all!' He tacked a mental plea onto his vocal one.
He sighed and glanced at the town. "Come on. Since she's tracing the van, let's go get the equipment we need." The teen grabbed Lucian's hand and dragged him away from the siren. 'Just behave yourself. Please! I'll buy you chocolate later if you just leave Narcis alone.' Joshua tried bribery, seeing if that would work. Whatever happened, he needed the pair to NOT kill each other.

Lucian yelped, caught off guard when his hand was grabbed. A slight blush quickly appeared on his cheeks, ‘Oh Joshua…chocolate…hmmmmmm….’ He was already bought. Joshua sure knew how to please him. “Lucian is well known in town…he knows everyone. Lucian can ask around the schools and students to see if they heard anything,” he said as he laid his head against Joshua’s shoulder. His finger twirled around the back of Joshua’s hand.
Lucian then brought out the shiny bracelet the girl gave him and smiled. It was very pretty. He slipped it on his wrist, not caring if anyone knew. As some of his classmates passed by, they stopped and stared at them, noting in the hand holding. “Joshua should know that this may seem…interesting to students to talk about…”

Joshua blushed but shook his head. "You need a leash. Besides, I'm not in town often. I don't care if they talk about me." Despite what he said, the teen didn't look at any of the others as he passed them. "Any info you can get would be good. But we need some gear first." Joshua was leading the way to a camping store he knew. The place carried the large backpacks they would need to pull this scheme off.

((OOC: Well, my hints will grow more blatant as time goes on.))
Narcis calmly rejoined them once it seemed that Joshua had Lucian under control. Though he did not roll his eyes at the human boy's blushing, it was a near thing. "Where is the shop we are looking for?" he inquired, seeing as neither of the other two seemed inclined to talk about it.
He tried to picture the large hiking backpacks he remembered. Nezik was not very big for a merman - Narcis should be able to carry him. The problem was length, as he'd already informed Joshua. That and the fact that Nezik would probably be too dazed from the abrupt change of water to help them in any way. Essentially, the boy would be dead weight.
"What sort of water do they use in the aquariums here?" he asked suddenly as that thought occurred to him. If the water were too different...

Joshua didn't answer the first question. Well, verbally at least, because he simply stopped in front of the store. "Here." He entered the store, looking around. "The aquariums here are often salt water ones with small fresh water sections. They often try to keep the fish in an enviroment as close as possible to their home one." The teen answered without really thinking. He was too busy making his way to the packs he'd seen.
Along the back wall of the store hung many different styles. Joshua made his way immediately to the section of larger packs. There, he skimmed through while continuing to talk. "They'll either put him in an area by himself or in a section of fish that normally live somewhere in these waters. They'll want to keep him alive, as that will bring in money. Aha! Here we go." The teen had obviously found what he was looking for. Joshua released Lucian, giving him a warning look. "Here. Check this out. The pack is basically on big pocket. This is the style I was looking for."
He held the pack out for Narcis's inspection. When he spoke again, this time it was in a much quieter voice. "Do you think Nezik could contor himself enough to fit in here? Just for a short amount of time?" The pack he held out was, as he said, one big pocket. It had four much smaller pockets on the side. Overall, it was a very plain backpack, but it was pretty big. Altogether, the pack was a three, maybe four feet tall.

Lucian walked over to some kids that had the same uniforms. He begins to speak with them, some of the girls blushing. Before to long he had one pinned against the wall. She was blushing and giggling. “Please ask around and help Lucian. Lucian would greatly appreciate it and will remember who helped.” He then leaned over and rubbed his cheek against hers. She squealed and giggled more as she ran out of the store. Lucian walked back to Joshua and grinned. He didn’t need to say anything more.

Joshua ignored Lucian's antics. Normally, he would have said or done something but not now. Now, they needed the info too much. Right now, anything that helped he would accept. So, the teen settled for simply shaking his head slightly. 'Desperate times call for desperate measures.' He told himself.

Lucian smiled as he seen Joshua shake his head. He spoke with a small hint of laughter, “Lucian is like among the class mates…they call Lucian the class clown. Information will soon come.” He watched Joshua inspect the bag. His eyes schemed down the others form. Lucian hasn’t seen Joshua in awhile and he missed his much. He was the first human he told about his past in a long time.
(((Speaking of which, how many days past since he seen Lucian? )))

((Umm...*Tries to think*...Two days? As a rough guess, it's something like that.))
Joshua sighed and shrugged. "Well, information is what we need. However we get it." He held the bag up so that Lucian could see. "What do you think?" He lowered his voice. "Could we fit a small merman in here?"

Narcis ignored Lucian, examining the bag with close attention. Joshua's information about the water was welcome - at least they had a slightly larger chance of finding Nezik alive and well. "So he ought to at least be healthy," he murmured, looking the bag over carefully still.
He held the bag against himself, considering and measuring it with his eyes. "I think so," he replied at last, just as quietly. "If he isn't too much in shock, he should be able to fit himself quite nicely into this. If he's too shocky, I'll just put him in. It will be less comfortable, but it shouldn't be too long a run."
With a brief nod, he handed it to Joshua. "This one will do," he said decisively. "Now, where do we go to find out which aquarium or research centre has suddenly acquired a scientific marvel?"

Joshua nodded. Narcis's verdict was enough. He carried the bag to the front counter. "Narcis, we listen. That's all. Maybe prompt a few people. But really, something like that would be talk of the town. Within half-hour of arrival, I bet pretty much the whole town knew." The teen laid the bag on the counter for the cashier. As the cashier rang it in, Joshua searched his pockets. "There it is." He muttered to himself, pulling out a debt card. Though he still didn't live at home, he made enough of a peace with his parents for them to help him a little. Each month, some money was placed into his account for whatever he needed.

Drunken_Ninja08 Joey sighed. He sneezed before righting himself. He gave the sky one last glance before deciding that he was hungry. He splashed and began to swim back to shore, taking his time. He was thinking about what Joshua was dealing with, no longer paying attention to the world around him. Violet heard the sneeze and splash and suddenly dove under the water with a quick splash. she wasn't paying atention. she didn't even notice she was so close to a ..... human. she shuddered at the thought as she glanced up at the surface to see how far it was from her.

Joey stopped at the small splash. He looked around quickly, tension and nervousness building in him. This wasn't good. He didn't see anything, yet he didn't lower his guard. He turned and began to swim again, aiming for the shore. "Oh, come on..." He really didn't want to deal with anything...especially if it was Violet.
