With the small strands of thread having hitched a ride of his wingsail, Ddraigth was determined to do damage to the enemy before them. He came out of between belching flame. The sight of a patch falling down before them put them into action easily.

Wings tucked in, Ddraigth dove after the silver patch, belching flame once more. Dr'stan couldn't stop the delight he felt at seeing it destroyed right then and there, falling to the ground as harmless ash. It didn't help that Ddraigth's confidence was leaking into him as well. The bronze's wings snapped open when the patch was completely done and they had stopped their dive, pulling back into formation.

A flash of silver, and Fianth rumbled, diving towards the enemy. They wouldn't let it pierce their defenses! Flamethrower ready, Olliah aimed, and shot the tongue of fire. Perhaps it was her weakness from having been sick for so long, or perhaps she was simply rusty, but she found herself missing the mark. And instead, poor Fianth wound up getting hit on her arm and shoulder!

Once again, the queen shrieked in pain, before disappearing into the cold of Between.

Olliah felt sick to her stomach.... What was wrong with her today!?

The air was cool, almost bitter like as bright blue watched the sky, his hair pulled back in a sigh braid to avoid any sort of distraction as they prepared for the oncoming slaught. He wrapped his fingers tightly around the leather waiting as his wingleader signaled, any second now.

It appeared, the silver clumps falling from the sky as Phaeth’s chest rumbled preparing to spit fire as a gust of wind caught his wings.

”PHAETH LOOK OUT!” It was too late, the tipped unexpectedly to the side, the wind pulling them straight into the silvery mass. It took only seconds as the screech of pain erupted from Phaeth sending them in between back to the weyr in a disoriented state. Tumbling to the ground D’mos rolled across the ground scrambling to his feet to where the bronze blindly shook his head.

”Let me see let me see, stop moving you big dragonet .” Fear coursed through both of them as D’mos ran his fingers along the dragon’s head, there was no doubt there was going to be a bit of scarring but it didn’t look to be bad enough that he needed a healer. ”You can see me still yes?”

< I can still see perfectly fine, is it bad? How bad?.... Is it going to leave a mark? > The fear thrummed through them again as D’mos gave a nod. ”Some but we can’t worry about it now we have to get back out there and help, its already embarrassing enough we had to return so quickly so no crying over it now and lets go.”

Phaeth looked at him, blinking as if debating on milking it longer to avoid returning but ego and pride won out and he gave the rider a nod before preparing to go between again.

Good catch! Ichta pat her beloved's neck, but only lingered on the thought for a moment as they both refocused their efforts onto flaming. Aurinkoth made a point to look over the forms of his siblings, keeping a diligent eye out for anymore silvery menace that could possibly cause them any harm.

There! Aurinkoth quickly maneuvered through the forms of his siblings towards a stray bundle of silver thread, flaming eagerly - and perhaps without much time for judgement. Ichta was almost a step ahead as the tendrils danced over the blue's wing, causing a small flash - and yelp - of pain before the two flickered between and back out again.

Careful! Ichta laced her words with loving concern, and Aurinkoth offered her sunny reassurances back. Sorry! I'll be careful!

Alucarth was quick to dive after a clump of thread though the direction of the wind changing was noticed too late for them. The Thread was caught and thrown back at them. Al'ndru tried to quickly catch Alucarth's attention but it was too late for them to go between. He could only watch as the bronze's head was wrapped around by Thread.

A painful wail issued from Alucarth before they disappeared between.

One....
Two......
Three.....

Four......

The pair appeared again after a moment, longer then they should have but Alucarth was hissing in pain, even as the frozen Thread fell from around his face. The scars would be bad, one completely covered his right eye and the dragon squinted as he moved to take formation again.

Should we head back? Al'ndru's words carried worry for his dragon, knowing Alucarth was in pain, he could feel that of his dragon. The stubborn bronze pushed back. No! I am fine, I can stay in this longer. The man felt his dragons anger and need to stay in just as long as Mharlith was able to, if the brown wasn't going back to get healing, then neither would he.

You sharding idiot...you'll get us killed. Al'ndru would have normally demanded they turn back but he knew Alucarth had enough in him for a bit longer.

You're doing wonderful! E'mel reassured Brieteth, who was managing to keep from becoming a complete bundle of nerves. The little blue nudged at the constant stream of optimism that was being sent his way as he ducked into an open space in his wing, both boy and blue taking a careful look around.

Is it actually clear, myE'mel? Brieteth asked as the red haired young man took stock of the situation, nodding slowly before patting his bonded's shoulder. Looking good. Take a deep breath and let's double back to keep at it!

TRESPASSERS WING
=Flying First Wave=
Tyila of Green Mishaath
Round 1-2
Roll: 2 - A clump of Thread falls right before you! Unfortunately, the wind pushes you and the Thread away from one another. With determination, you fight the wind, trying valiantly to get to the great enemy! You hop Between, hoping to get closer, and flame the Threads that threaten to fall through! - 1. Failure! You Between right INTO the clump! Too close, too close!! Ouch! Damage is Moderate! -5 HP - Saved by D’mos of bronze Phaeth!

XP: 000
Target Accuracy: 3
Flame Length: 2
General Stamina: 2
General Agility: 4
Between Accuracy: 2
Pain Resilience: 2
Instinct: 2
Luck: 4

The trouble with being nervous already, having already had a near miss, was that it left Mishaath and Tyila off their game. They overcompensated by growing overzealous, chasing thread with an almost manic determination, and winding after it in maneuvers fit to make the head spin. For a time it worked alright, but when a clump was pushed away by the wind, desperation to keep up the streak, to keep that too-tightly-clutched control they'd scrabbled to get hold of, they grew careless. Popping between after it, they cut it too close, reappearing only to see nothing but pure silver!

The pair braced to feel the burning pain...but it did not come. The roar of flame instead filled the air, the wind disbursing the ash cloud harmlessly. Th-thank you!! It was D’mos of bronze Phaeth...! The green trembled, fighting to maintain formation. Thank pern for the browns and bronzes. Thank Pern, thank Faranth!

YOUR JUDGEMENT WILL MAKE THAT CALL, BRONZE DORMITH. DO NOT DIE GIVING ME THE LORD HOLDER'S SHARE.

And then off they went. Efrideet covered her eyes as she watched them take off, continuing to idly stroke Asuracath's neck, as if that might settle her in the least. It was going to be a few bracing hours to be sure; D'mon hadn't been kidding about the violent winds, it seems. If nothing else, at least, the distance helped with the white's lack of volume control. It did not, however, stop her from attempting to help.

BROWN IRATH, YOU ARE BETTER THAN THIS. EYES FORWARD.

"Hush," Efrideet said half-heartedly, knowing Asuracath would do as Asuracath wanted regardless. "They need to concentrate. Would you like it if someone was shouting in your head?"

IF IT BETTERED MY PERFORMANCE, I WOULD WELCOME IT.

She doubted as much but said nothing. Even far and away, Efrideet could see that the wings were having problems combating the winds, making fire even more hazardous than usual. A'dras was doing his best, but damn if she didn't feel antsy being on the ground.

[Low Altitude]

It's windy, be careful! G'lin warned his dear green as she ducked through the others, flaming and offering her dearest rider a wave of assurance. She knew it was windy! He didn't need to tell her again!

Yet, there was some frustration at keeping her wings where she wanted to go, keening some upset as they flew in the formations they were carefully trained into - and right into a large gust that sent both rider and green careening unsteadily into a tangle of thread!

With a scream of upset, the two blinked Between and were shortly out again, the silvery mess crumbling away, but leaving an obvious burn on Neiveth's wing. Are you okay?

No! This is absolutely unacceptable! she protested, but he could at least tell they were safe to keep going.

They were doing well! Ly'bur would expect no less from them. All that practice was paying off. Holding up well? He checked in with his dragon automatically. Despite the wind, this Fall isn't being terribly bad. The brown commented mildly to his rider. Others in there wing were having a bit of a harder time though.

Hinburath noticed M'aze and bronze Zaeth resume their position in the wing, both were suffering from recent wounds. The brown gave a bugle to his wingmates. Zaeth! Hang in there. You both are doing well! He didn't usually compliment or encourage others, but this seemed like the time to do it. Ly'bur hid a smirk from his dragon in amusement. Once in awhile, the quiet brown still surprised him.

Round 1: Day 1 Rolls
1. 9- Your dragon notices a sudden writhing stream of silver thread out of the corner of his or her eye. If a white, green, or blue, with surprising grace, they turn on a wingtip and manage to flame it to ash. You successfully flame it down. [+2 Target Accuracy] If a brown or bronze, you find yourself unable to dodge, and take a hit! [Minor Damage if Bronze - 1 HP // Moderate Damage if Brown - 3 HP]
2. 20- Something doesn't feel right. You wind up glancing over your shoulder just in time to see a small, silver strand drifting dangerously close to your dragon. Thankfully, your dragon shares your thoughts, and is able to blink Between and higher above their position, missing the strand, and saving yourself from a score. [+1 Instinct]
3. 13- Trying valiantly to catch some thread, your dragon flames a bit sooner than you would have preferred. Surprisingly enough, the flame is long, hot, and sustained longer than usual. Your dragon manages to flame the clump and return to their position in their wing. [+1 Flame Length]
4. 11- You check in on your dragon to ensure they're doing all right. Thankfully, your dragon responds that they're feeling fine. All that training and practicing is coming full circle, as your dragon isn't feeling particularly fatigued. If they are suffering from a Fatigue Effect, they get a burst of renewed energy and the status is removed. [+1 Stamina] If your dragon isn't suffering, you are allowed to quote a fellow wingmate (must be in your same wing) who is suffering the effect! Your dragon trumpets at them encouragingly, making them feel better, and giving them a renewed burst of energy and effort. Remove Fatigue Effect from one wingmate!
5.

Vishnuth, great form! Gwyllinth, your strength grows even as the thread dares to score you. Spreading his wings wide, Fenrith caught a thermal, and then closed his wings again, diving to flame a patch of thread that threatened his dear Pern. On his back, Illa was intently focused on the task at hand, leaning hard against his neck so that they might dive all the more swiftly.
