    [ - Begin Interaction for RP Day - ]

While everyone was trying to work through Argos’s memories of the attack, Lelyna had no choice but to live through the memories of her friends and teachers. Locked in her own mind, she was helpless to resist the images and the emotions that assailed her one after another. Some memories started pleasantly, much like Argos’s own memories, but each took an emotional turn that left Lelyna more raw and emotional than the last.

[ - It was a beautiful day, sunny but not too hot. It was perfect weather to play in the nearby stream with his sister. Laughing and playing, the young rabbit hopped along, playing a shifter’s version of tag as they hopped through the tall grasses. They were joyfully playing when their father walked up, face grim. He knew in that moment that something was wrong...Their suspicions were only conformed with their father, in his pristine military uniform, stepped into the grass and mud them both up and into his arms.

Clutching them tightly, his father fought to say what he had to. Not because he was hurt, but because he had to hurt them. His father, their grandfather, had gone missing. No one was sure where he had went, they just knew he was with his master, serving him faithfully as his battle butler. He did his best to hide his tears from his sister, but when he was alone, he could hold back the agony that ate away with him at the loss of his hero… - ]

The memory was quick but full of emotion. The loss of a loved one was never easy and baring the agony of loss in silence was even harder. But while Lelyna wished to meditate on the memory, another quickly took its place, like dreams drifting into one another.

[ - He was back in his house, drenched from head to toe after the long walk from Kayne’s tavern. It was as if the heavens above were offering their condolences to something he had lost, something that was far away from within his reach because of his childish mistake. He didn’t even care that he would leave the trail of water along the way as he departed to his bedroom, sitting on the bed, head hanging down to the wooden flooring. He hugged himself, seeking warmth that wasn’t there. The one whom he wished to hold, to love, to seek warmth in wouldn’t be there to offer such warmth for him anymore; that was back in the past, and it would stay there for a long time.

The place of the musician’s heart that was reserved for the fellow court mage was now nothing else but a hole. It would take a long time before it would be patched up; possibly someone else may take his place, but for now, he felt like he wouldn’t deserve such redemption. Maybe he wasn’t fit to be loved by someone else, and he deserved to be alone, all because of such flaws that he had in his life. With such thoughts crushing him, he placed his face into his hands, screaming as tears dripped down his face and mixed with the dampness of the rain… - ]

Heartbreak, yet another emotional trauma that afflicted many. The images and emotions made her body ache with phantom pains. Would her own love ever forsake her? Would he come to realize that she was not worthy of one such as him? Could Mikhail one day come to resent her and her disabilities…the thoughts were ones she pushed away but they were ever present. But then, everyone had their insecurities…

[ - Today was the day – the day she would receive her family’s crest on her back. The day should have been exciting, a wonderful occasion to celebrate her step into adulthood. But before she was permitted to receive the crest she was required to participate in a gauntlet of training and sparring. With each success she would look to her father for congratulations or a compliment on her performance. Instead she was met with a less than satisfied expression, followed with a grunt before turning his back to her and heading on to the next trial. As the day went on and the training and sparring became more intense she began to grow weak. She’d been fighting for hours with no rest, no replenishment or nourishment, no water and her strength was fading. During a spar with a much larger male she took a blow to the stomach and collapsed to her hands and knees. Vomiting what little there was in her stomach onto the floor she fought to keep the tears from leaving her eyes.

In that moment her father spoke. “Pathetic. Had that been your brother he could have easily handled that attack. Disgraceful.” He said in a most disgusted tone. “Get up! You aim to have our house emblem on your back with that performance?! Get up and take this man down!” He began relentlessly shouting at her while continuing to insult her. Crying to herself she got up, slowly. In the next instant she would take her opponent down and once more fall to her knees. She had reached her limit. Her father, moving to stand before her, glared down at her. “I suppose this will do… “ Sighing he turned slowly and began to walk away. “If only you were as strong as your brother...” As her father exited the chamber and everyone else cleared out. She cried out in anguish. Feeling unwanted and not good enough she cried and cried till she couldn’t cry anymore. After gathering her composure, she made her way to the main hall of their house where she was escorted to the artist who would immortalize her family’s crest into her very flesh. - ]

The pain of rejection from a family member, the desire for acceptance and love was something that drove many people to unthinkable lengths and actions. The physical pains both from combat and from family traditions were heavy burdens to bear for a man and even harder still for a woman.

With all the other endless memories floating through her mind, Lelyna’s body felt weaker than it had before instead of stronger after resting for more than a day and night. Lying upon her hospital bed, her hands claimed by her mother and her lover, she knew that she was loved and surrounded by those who would protect her, but even so, the memories plagued her. And even as she dreamed, there was one memory, one scene that haunted her mind the most and made her question all that she had been previously led to believe…

Walking down the halls of the Academy, Kayl had a been a little bit lost in thought. Before reaching his dorm, he seen Juliana in the halls, but she walked past him as if he wasn’t there at all. Kayl couldn’t help but wonder what she was upset with him about. From the way she turned her head away from him and just walked passed without a word, he knew she was mad about something, and normally he might have stopped her to ask if she was alright, however it would have to wait. Bad timing on his part he had to supposed, and although he was sorry to Juliana, he let her pass and continued onto his dorm.

Kayl patted down and brushed off his newly pressed tunic and armor as he walked to the infirmary. After having slept all night in the training grounds, he had been a bit ruffled, and returned to his dorm to clean himself up and change his clothes. Looking more like his usually noble and presentable self, he quickly made his way to the infirmary. Upon arriving, he knocked lightly at the door before entering and heading to the reception desk. "Can I help you, uh, Kayl was it?" Vivian asked, remembering the boys name from the night before. "I’m here to see Lelyna, can you tell me which bed she is in?" Kayl asked lightly, and Vivian pointed to one of the side rooms for private beds where Lelyna was placed. Kayl bowed to the nurse and then made his way over to the private bed. "Hello? Lelyna?" Kayl said after knocking and opening the door slowly. When he opened the door, he was almost surprised to see both Mikhail and Elenora sitting at either side of her. "Ah, forgive my intrusion Elenora, M…" Kayl said as he stepped into the room and closed the door behind him. Looking down at Lelyna, her eyes were still shut and it seemed as though she was sleeping. Kayl felt a little guilty charging over here seeing her this way. He knew she had gone through a lot, and he himself had stepped out after the intense scene from the day before. Breaking the silence then, Kayl stepped up and looked down at Lelyna from the end of her bed. "So… she’s still asleep huh?"

It wasn’t hard to tell that Kayl felt a bit out of place as he stepped into the room, seemingly to visit with Lelyna. Elenora had been informed of the day’s prior events and was aware that Kayl had been the one to figuratively and literally storm the Estate and whisk Lelyna away to the Academy in the middle of the night. All she and Mikhail had been told was that there had been a fae that had needed to convey his memories to them and Lelyna had been the only one they could think of to help. Elenora had been surprised to learn that the mythical fae were in fact real, and even more surprised when she’d come to see her daughter only to see one curled up next to her sleeping soundly. Apparently, the fae that had been in dire need, and who had later died, had been the female fae, Sylrenya’s, friend. The poor thing had had tear streaks on her cheeks when Elenora had arrived. It was clear that the lovely little fae had cried herself to sleep next to Lelyna.

Gently stroking her daughter’s hand, Elenora gave Kayl a motherly, sympathetic look. “No need to apologize, Kayl. I’m sure Lelyna will be happy to see you once she does awaken. I suspect it won’t be long now…” Elenora said as she gazed down at her daughter. Lelyna had started twitching in her sleep about an hour prior, a known sign that she would soon awaken from her restful, forced sleep.

Whether it was the broken silence in the room, or the fact that Lelyna had finally rested enough, not more than five or ten minutes after Kayl had arrived, Lelyna hummed lightly and slowly began to open her eyes. Mikhail, eager for any sign that she was alright, nearly jumped out of his chair so he could look down at her from a higher vantage. Elenora smiled at the sight, knowing that the Valorian Prince truly did care for her daughter. Part of her had worried that the handsome young man was merely infatuated with Lelyna, but it was clear that he had deep feelings for Lelyna, much to her relief and surprise.

“Welcome back, my darling…you’ve been asleep for quite a while.” Elenora said soothingly. “You’re in the Academy’s infirmary. Mikhail and Kayl are here with you as well.” She soothed, knowing that Lelyna would want to know who was around her.

Lelyna gripped both her mother’s and Mikhail’s hands as she awoke and began the process of dragging herself out of her state of grogginess. Releasing a deep, long sigh, she nodded a little bit at her mother’s words. It didn’t take her long to realize what had happened – she’d known there as a high risk of pushing herself too far with the memory transfers, but it couldn’t have been helped.

“I’m sorry for worrying you all…” Lelyna didn’t need the ability to see to know that everyone present had likely worried for her wellbeing, Mikhail especially. The few times that Lelyna had over exerted herself while attending the Academy had cause Mikhail more than a little worry – this time would be no exception. “And I’m sorry that we missed our boat home…” While there was still plenty of time to go for their planned visit, it didn’t mean that she didn’t feel guilty about causing them to miss their scheduled voyage.

Her mother lovingly kissed her hand. “Don’t you worry about that, love. We can always catch another boat…” Her mother was right, but still…Swallowing a little, Lelyna nodded, gripping Mikhail’s hand and turning her face toward him. “Hello, love…” She said with a small smile, suspecting that he was still worried despite her being awake. Suspecting that it would do well to give him something to do to not only distract him, but satisfy his need to provide and protect her, Lelyna spoke her request. “Love, would you mind going to get me some soothing tea? Maybe something to nibble on? I’m a bit famished…” As she suspected, Mikhail was more than happy to go and get her what she requested from the kitchen, even though it was on the other side of the Academy. While she was hungry and thirsty, Lelyna also had an ulterior motive. Gripping her mother’s hand, she ensured that she stayed where she was, silently letting her know that she didn’t want her mother to leave.

“Kayl…I think I know why you’re here…” She said as she held out her empty hand for him to take. Lelyna waited until he moved to her side and took Mikhail’s previously occupied place. Holding his hand, she sighed. “There is a memory, one that was given to me, by you, in exchange for Argos’s…a memory that you need to see.” She only waited until he agreed to accept the memory before she activated her raiment and gave him back the memory she’d been given…

Kayl smiled lightly at Elenora’s kind words, she was a very kind woman, seemingly very motherly to say the least, although Kayl wasn’t entirely sure as he had nothing to base his imagined thoughts on. He remembered for a moment the fleeting hug she had given him when they first met, and thought for sure that had to have been a motherly thing to do, after all, she was thanking him for helping her daughter. The thought drifted away when Lelyna started to stir. Elenora called out to her first, letting her know where she was. When she completely came to, Kayl waited for her to sort her bearings and speak with her mother and Mikhail before he stepped forward so that he could ask her about the strange additional memory he saw during the Argos’s transfer. However before he said anything, Lelyna asked Mikhail if he would get her something to eat. When he had left the room, Lelyna spoke directly to him this time, seemingly beating him to the punch. "You do?" Kayl asked as he took a seat by her side on the bed. When she spoke of another memory, a memory that was given to her, he naturally assumed she was speaking of the brief memory that he had seen in the middle of Argos’ memory, the very thing he had come to speak to her about.

When she said that it was something he needed to see, Kayl was a bit apprehensive. Not for himself, but for Lelyna who was already sitting in an infirmary bed. However the look on her face seemed terribly urgent, and he also knew that there was something about that memory, something that they needed know. Sitting by her side then, he placed his hand in hers as she prepared herself. Without a thought, he closed his eyes and prepared himself for what he was about to see, mentally preparing to deal with the fear that he felt before. He nodded once he was ready, and soon enough he could sense the energy passing through him as the memory started to play in his mind. At that moment, however, a memory completely different from what he was expecting, a memory that had been plaguing his nightmares as of late. Kayl’s eyes suddenly shot open when the first clear moments had started. "N-no…" Kayl let out unwittingly as he stared at Lelyna as the memory played in his mind.

[ ~ Opening his eyes for the first time in his life, the odd sounds of several voices could be heard as his eyes adjusted to everything around him. An older woman, the headmistress of the estate, slowly came into view, blurring at first, and then just bit clearer as he felt himself being rushed from the room. He is carried from one room into the next, and then an anxious man, the young Noble Lord of the house stood up and ran towards him. "How is she?" The Noble suddenly asked before looking down into her arms. "Is that…?" He started to say before the headmistress finished his sentence. "Yes, My Lord, this is your firstborn, your son…"
Without hesitation, the Noble gently reached down and took the baby into his arms. "My son… My SON!…" He said excitedly before looking back at the headmistress and frowning lightly when he saw her worried face. "What, what’s wrong! Is it Nora?... NORA!..." He yelled out while storming into the waiting room where the baby had been delivered. Just as soon as he entered the room, his face went pale as he looked upon his wife, smiling and looking up at him with a second baby, a secondborn beautiful baby girl in her arms. "Look Eldyn… at what we made…" She said as tears started to fill her eyes. ~ ]

As the memory played on, Kayl came to recognize the man called Eldyn, it was his own father, the Grand Lord De’Valaer himself nearly twenty years ago, watching the memory through the baby’s eyes, Kayl realized that the entire memory was his own, from the very day of his birth, the memory that he had given to Lelyna by him. But as the memory continued on, Kayl for the first time in his adult life saw his mother, and his eyes went wider still as he recognized this woman in the memory. This woman who was now standing not three feet from him in the room, holding Lelyna’s hand. Kayl’s eyes shot to Elenora then in disbelief, his jaw dropping slightly in shock as the memory continued on, his mother sitting upon the table, a baby girl in her arms. Kayl looked to Lelyna then as another truth dawned on him, and then his gaze returned to Elenora as she started to realize what was happening. The looks on Elenora’s face as she started to realize that Kayl knew who she was would reveal its truth. As the memory continued, Kayl’s gaze would remain on Elenora for the remainder of transfer as his mind tried to process all that he was seeing.

[ ~ "W-what?... N-no…" His father Eldyn let out, sudden worry and distress in his voice as if the world was suddenly going to come to an end. He backed out of the room, back into the library where he was waiting before. Nora looked up at him in confusion at first, and then dread and sorrow filled her eyes as the door shut in front of her. "No no no no…" Eldyn said as he paced back and forth, his son still wrapped in his arms. As the headmistress returned to the room with him, she walked up to him and slowly spoke. "What should we do my lord," She asked with a stern face, her eyes sullen and fearful. Eldyn, the young Noble Lord felt his knees go weak, and he shut his eyes as he took a deep breath, and then he looked down upon his son. Shaking his head, he knew what had to be done, but couldn’t gather the strength to say it. "K-kill…" he started to say with a broken voice. "K-kill it…"

The words he spoke the second time made Eldyn feel sick to his stomach as his eyes started to well up and tears started to stream down his face. The headmistress bowed with a sad, frantic face before nodding to some of the other servants on hand before all of them went back into the delivery room. Eldyn brought his hand up to wipe his face, trying to keep his tears from falling upon the baby’s face. But as he looked down at his son, the tears wouldn’t stop and only got worse with what came next. After a few moments, suddenly screams could be heard coming from the other room, the screams of his frightened, panicked wife Nora. Eldyn tried his best to keep his composure, but when he heard his wife’s screams, he couldn’t take it anymore. Running into the room, he was horrified to see Nora huddled in the corner of the room, holding onto their baby girl tightly, a candlestick holder in her hand being used as a weapon to keep the servants away from the baby.

"No… get away… Stop!... STOP!" Eldyn yelled out while looking down at his terrified wife. "But my lord, you know what they’ll do…" The headmistress said looking at the baby boy in his arms now. "JUST… stop… let me think…" Eldyn said while looking down at his boy, and then looking to his wife and the little girl in her arms. "El…" Nora said through tear stricken sobs as if begging him. Eldyn looked down at his wife and crouched down in front of her before looking down at the baby girl in her arms. He caressed the baby girl’s face gently as his eyes welled up once more and then he looked at his wife. "Nora… Nora!" He yelled out while getting her to look up at him, all the while trying to keep her from panicking. "You have to go, you have to run, and take her with you…" He said with a nearly broken and cracked tone in his voice. Nora started to shake her head at first but Eldyn cut off anything she might have had to say. "You know what they’ll do if they learn the truth… You know!..." He said firmly while standing once more, holding a hand out for her. Shaking in fear, Nora shut her eyes for just a moment before nodding, as if she understood. She then looked up and reached out for his hand as the headmistress stepped over, and helped her to stand after she took her husband’s outreached hand. "Where will we go?" She asked as she looked up into his eyes with fear. "It doesn’t matter, as long as its as far away from here as you can go, if you don’t, then…" He started to say while looking down at their newborn babies. "You know that they are in danger as long as there are two," He tried to say with a straight face, but even he couldn’t believe what they now had to do, what had to be done. He looked to his headmistress, waving her to approach.

"Go with them, and make sure they get out of the city," he ordered to the headmistress as he looked back at his wife, who was sobbing openly. Nora shook her head and cried hard as she looked to her newborns who were also now crying from all of the commotions. But after a moment, she composed herself enough to placed her baby girl into the headmistress’ arms, and walk over to a shelf that was in the room. She pulled out two amulets from the shelf and walked over to her husband then. She slowly placed one of the amulets around her son’s neck, her beautiful baby boy that lay crying in his father’s arms. With a face full of tears, she kissed him in the forward before turning away, returning to the headmistress, and taking the other child in hand. She was about to head out the door when she stopped and looked back at her husband and son. "Eldyn…" Was the last thing she said before storming out the door with the headmistress in tow, and disappearing forever. ~ ]

"G-ghaaaaaah" Kayl let out while suddenly letting go of Lelyna’s hand as the memory came to its end, breathing hard as he stared into the eyes of the woman standing on the other side of the room. The woman who was Lelyna’s mother, his sister’s mother, his mother, the very mother who he believed had died giving birth to him. Shaking slightly in disbelief, Kayl didn’t know what to say as his eyes welled up and the tears started to flow as he learned that the very thing that had been haunting his nightmares for years was that deep down, deep within him, he was trying to remember that he had a sister and that his mother was alive. In that moment, there was only one thing that managed to free itself from his lips, "W-why…!?"

While Lelyna transferred the memory to Kayl as he held her hand, she also gave it to her mother as well, who still held Lelyna’s other hand. She didn’t have to have the gift of sight to know what was happening between Kayl and Elenora in that moment. Each of them gripped her hand tighter and tighter as the memory progressed and played out in their minds. At first, Lelyna hadn’t known what to think of the memory and what she’d seen – the man she didn’t recognize, but the moment she’d seen her mother, through the eyes of the baby, Lelyna had realized what was happening but not why.

Even as a little girl, she’d felt like something was missing in her life. After many years, she’d assumed that it had something to do with her raiment, her need to connect with people through memories. But seeing this memory, realizing that the ‘something’ she’d been missing had actually been ‘someone’ instead…it was like a piece being snapped into its proper place.

Kayl was her brother, her twin brother. Separated at birth, by their parents; one who had wished her death and the other who wished only to save them…There were no answers as to why, at least, not yet, but for the moment, that didn’t matter to Lelyna. All that mattered to her was helping Kayl realize that there was something missing in his life too; her.

Kayl’s anguished cry made Lelyna’s expression morph into one of regret. He immediately released her hand, severing the contact completely. Letting her hand drop back onto the bed, she gripped her mother’s hand tightly to keep her at her side. Kayl’s one stammered, anguished word echoed through her mind. Closing her eyes, Lelyna laid there in silence, wanting answers as well but not daring to say anything.

Elenora swallowed hard. She’d prayed to the Gods that this day would never come. But the moment she’d seen Kayl, met him, talked to him, held him in her arms, she’d known that it would only be a matter of time before one of them realized their unique relationship and connection to one another. It broke her heart to see that memory through the eyes of her son, to know that he remembered that night so clearly, even as a babe.

His flowing tears and anguished expression matched hers as she wiped her cheeks and tried to steady her frantically beating heart. “To protect you…to protect your sister.” Elenora said, squeezing Lelyna’s hand in her own. “It was the only way to ensure that you both lived. To ensure that your father didn’t have to choose.” This story wasn’t hers to tell – the reasons behind a family’s superstitions. But Kayl and Lelyna deserved some answers, even if they were vague.

“I knew from the moment I saw you on Lelyna’s graduation day that you were Eldyn’s son, my son. When Lelyna wrote to me about her friend Kayl, I was surprised, but never suspected that she was talking about you – I thought it was merely a boy with the same name.” Gazing at him, Elenora’s expression softened to a motherly one, one full of love and hope, but also sadness and regret.

“But…you two were always meant to find one another, it seems…” There was no telling what this would mean for them. The danger they would be in, that Lelyna would be in, if the family found out about her existence and her true nature…It needed to remain a secret.

“Kayl…your family, they must never know that you have a sister.” Elenora stated firmly and with a look of seriousness. “I…The reasons why are not for me to say. Only your father can truly explain why you two had to be separated.” She knew it wasn’t what he wanted to hear, but there was no other choice. Eldyn, Kayl and Lelyna’s father, was the one with the answers to his family’s secrets. All Elenora could do was offer her support and her love.

Not a day had gone by since that night that she hadn’t hoped Kayl was happy and healthy. But even if he was, she’d known that, like Lelyna, he wouldn’t feel whole until he’d discovered the truth – that he wasn’t alone, that he’d been born with a twin, a sister that should have been his to grow up with, to befriend and protect. Those years of bonding, of memories, of love and connection had been taken from them in exchange for their safety. But now, one had to wonder, what would they both do now that they’d found one another…

As Kayl heard his mothers words, his mind flashed back to the scene, his father frantic with indecision, almost panicked when he learned that there wasn’t just one child, but two. 'What was it that he said?' Kayl thought as he tried to remember the exact words. ‘You know what they’ll do if they learn the truth… You know that they are in danger as long as there are two…’ 'As long as there are… two?...'

As Elenora continued to speak, trying to give as best an answer as she could at that moment, Kayl almost snapped out in anger and frustration. However, upon looking at his mother’s face, the anguish in her eyes as well as the sadness filling her voice, all of his anger simply melted away. Remembering her face as she was ready to fight to save her precious daughter’s life, he knew in an instant the pain she must have been carrying all these years. As Elenora continued to speak, she started to drone on a bit nervously, as if she didn’t know what else to say but didn’t want to further upset him. Kayl stepped around the bed through her words, and before she could finish her sentence, he wrapped his arms around her and held her close. "I thought you were dead," He managed to barely get out as his eyes welled up once more. "I was told you had died in childbirth, honored you every year on the anniversary of your death, but I always felt saddened that I would never feel the warmth of your embrace…" Kayl said as he held his mother closer, feeling her arms slowly wrap around him as she could no longer hold her composure. Now the tears flowed like rivers, and she held her son, truly held him for the first time since his birth. "How I wish I could’ve been there, and watch you grow with your sister…"

Kayl chuckled then, letting the warm words of his mother loosen the tension as he pulled away from her. "That’s right… I… have a sister…" Kayl said as he looked over at Lelyna now, he smiled lightly as he looked her way, and wiped the tears from his eyes. "I can’t believe it, who would have ever guessed, huh L…," Kayl said with a light laugh. "But wait, you spoke of seeing me at graduation, and that certainly explains the long hug," Kayl said with a sarcastic chuckle as he looked back at his mother, "But, how did you know it was me?" Kayl asked, curiosity in his gaze. Elenora then brought her arm to his chest and pointed at his amulet. "That…" She said before lightly placing it in her palm. "I made this for you before you were born," She said before letting it go and walking over to Lelyna, bringing up her arms to Lelyna’s shoulders while sitting on the bed beside her. "Do you mind, Lelyna?" She said as she brought her hands to Lelyna’s neck, and just as soon as she received the ok, she pulled up the chain that was around Lelyna’s neck, holding the same amulet as Kayl’s. "One for you, and originally one for me, however when we were surprised with the miracle of a second child, and thus it became one for Lelyna, to keep you both safe…"

Kayl looked at the amulet that Lelyna had around her neck and his eyes went wide as well. He flashed back to the memory once more, remembering the moment when his mother placed it on his neck, she did have a second one as well. Looking to Lelyna then, he wondered if she had been wearing it all along like he had and wondered, if at all, how many times since they’ve met was her amulet ever visible. Perhaps not, after all, it's not something Kayl would have missed. A precious amulet made by his mother before her death. He never once took it off, and would have noticed immediately if someone else was wearing it. "I can’t believe it," Kayl said while bringing his hand up behind his head, rubbing the back of his head as he ruffled his hair a bit. He walked over to Lelyna then and reached down to take one of Lelyna’s hands. Slowly, he brought her hand up to his necklace, to let her feel the amulet around his neck. "It seems we really are connected you and I," Kayl said with a smile before reaching up and giving Lelyna a big hug as well, whether she was ready for it or not. "Thank you, Lelyna," He said as he shut his eyes, feeling her embrace as he kept the waterworks from reviving. "In truth, this memory, or at least bits and pieces have been plaguing my nightmares these past few years, as if my mind had been trying to tell me something," He said as he let her go and sat down next to her. "Each time, they would get progressively worse, and I didn’t know what to do, but I knew that something was wrong, and now, you’ve shown me the truth, I’m not sure where to even begin to thank you,"

Aside from Mikhail, Lelyna was the closest friend he had, especially over the past few months, and so all of this although shocking, became a more and more pleasant surprise, he found that he couldn’t have been happier with the idea of it. "I’m still surprised to have learned that I have a sibling, but if it had to be anyone, I couldn’t have asked for someone better…"

Lelyna laid in her bed in silence as Kayl and her mother, their mother, spoke. It was a lot to take in. The last thirty-six hours had been much more than anyone could handle, considering what they’d all witnessed through Argos’s memories. But to find out that someone that she called a friend, was actually her brother, her twin brother…well, it was a but overwhelming.

Kayl’s memory, of the day of their birth left many questions to be answered. Why had they been separated? Why had they been in such danger? Had her mother ever planned on telling her the truth? In any case, Lelyna was very occupied with her thoughts and her feelings and felt inclined to give Kayl and Elenora time to talk and to reconnect, so to speak.

As Kayl spoke her nickname, ‘L’, she smiled a little. It was strange to think that they were siblings, separated at birth for their own protection. Listening to her mother speak of the amulet Kayl wore only to then ask if she could show him hers, Lelyna nodded. It seemed that the two amulets were identical. Each of them had been wearing them the whole time. Lelyna kept hers under her clothes, to ensure that it didn’t get caught on anything, lest she lose it if it fell off. Meanwhile, it seemed that Kayl wore his openly. If only she had been able to see it, Lelyna would have known right away that there was a connection between them!

Her mother had told her, long ago, that the amulet was a talisman, a good luck charm so to speak. It seemed that it also held a deeper meaning as well, but one that her mother hadnt shared with her. Hearing Kayl’s words brought tears to her eyes.

“Yes, it seems we-“ She’d begun to say only to feel Kayl embracing her, hugging her close. Wrapping her arms around him, she held him tightly, feeling her tears flowing freely as she hugged him. When he thanked her, she merely shook her head – she was merely glad that they’d found one another. He didn’t need to thank her for anything – it was his memory, she’d merely given it back to him…

As Kayl pulled away, Lelyna reluctantly released him. Wiping her face, she listened to his explanation. It seemed that his mind had sensed the need for him to remember that particular memory, thus forcing him to remember it piece by piece. Hopefully, now that he remembered everything, he wouldn’t be plagued by nightmares. "I hope that now that you know the whole story, so to speak, that the nightmares stop." She could only hope...

“I never thought I would ever see you two reunited…” Elenora said as she retook her seat next to Lelyna, wiping her eyes as well. “I’m glad that you two found one another…but…well, as far as I know, both of you, Lelyna in particular, will be in danger if the De’Valaer family finds out of her existence.” Thus, it went unsaid, that their relationship as siblings would need to be kept a secret.

While Lelyna didn’t want to keep anything from Mikhail, she had to wonder if she could keep such a secret from her beloved. Surely telling him would be alright…? For the time being, the three agreed to keep their family ties a secret. Thus, ensuring that Lelyna would not be in endangered. After Mikhail returned with her tea and snacks, Lelyna took her time eating and getting her energy back.

Once Vivian deemed Lelyna well enough to return to the estate, everyone adjourned there for the rest of the day to discuss their travel plans to return to Valor for the rest of the Summer Break. Now that Lelyna and Kayl knew they were siblings, the two wished to spend more time together, to get to know one another and talk about their childhoods spent apart. It seemed that with the turn of events, Kayl would accompany Lelyna, Mikhail and Elenora back to Valor for an impromptu visit…

Larina had spent the day before exploring the academy with the boy from the library. She had lost track of time and it seemed everyone had gone home as she noticed it was dark outside. She went to the infirmary as she went to sleep in one of the beds. She didn't want to try and make it back to the inn as it was super dark and she has a habit of getting lost when trying to find a way back on her own. She had read some of the book she had borrowed before finally drifting to sleep. Before she knew it the sun was high in the sky as she covered her head. She was already dressed for the day having dressed the night before she went to sleep. She gave a yawn as she stayed hidden under the blanket as she didn't want to get up just yet.

Yesterday was not a good day for the doctor. The events from the early morning when the sun was not out combined with the lack of sleep had taken a toll on him. Fortunately, when Atem woke him up, Vivian was already up and doing a fine job taking care of the Lelnya and her visitors. As much as he wanted to help, he was much too tired to do his job. He had to go home to get something to eat and rest. In the condition he was in, he was in no shape to be helping other people. However, he left his falcon Atem behind in case someone needed to send him a message. He gave clear instructions to Vivian on how to communicate with Atem in case he was needed before leaving the infirmary. Upon arriving home, all he consumed was two slices of bread before passing out on his bed and getting the rest that he needed.

Merek woke up the next day feeling refreshed, Atem waiting for him by his bedside. As per usual, his companion pecked him on the head despite that he had already awakened. This time his friend must be in the mood to fight with the doctor. After shaking his head toward him, he gave him the command to go out and hunt. Meanwhile, the good and handsome doctor did his usual exercise that maintained his incredible physique before taking a relaxing lavender bath. He got dressed in his native clothes after the bath and ate a breakfast that consisted of eggs and fruits. Atem returned shortly after Merek finished his breakfast, already having eaten something from his hunt. Together they left their home and made their way to the academy. According to Vivian's report, Lelyna was cleared to leave. Merek felt bad that he could not be there to wish Lelyna well, but at least she has recovered. His mind drifted back to that memory of Argos that they shared. That vile man is still out there destroying the lives of innocent people. No medicine or science can stop this man. Magic might be their only option, but what kind of magic will they need? This may be a conversation that Merek will have with Gannon some day.

When he opened the door to the infirmary, he did not anticipate that someone else would be there. A young woman is laying down one of the beds. Is she a patient? Is she still asleep? He should check if this woman is suffering from a fever or has any other indicators that she is sick. Why else would someone be sleeping at the infirmary? He could assume that she was tired and needed a place to stay, but why come here of all places? Maybe she could not afford an inn and someone allowed her to stay at the infirmary. Just in case, Merek walked over to the sleeping woman, tugged the blankets slightly so he can see her forehand, then placed one of his hands on it to check her temperature. Her body temperature appears to be normal. He will more than likely ask her if she has been feeling sick, but he can't help noticing how soft her skin is.

Larina yawned as someone touched her head. She stretched a small bit as she sat up. She yawned again as she rubbed her eyes. "Good morning? Is breakfast ready?" She was still half asleep as she opened her eyes some more. The moment she saw who was in front of her she freaked out as she scooted back some. A tall dark skinned male stood before. She looked around remembering she had used the infirmary as a sleeping area. She hurried from the bed as she lowered her head in apology. Maybe she should have gone back to the Inn last night but it was so late when she realized she didn't speak to anyone about a job.

"I do apologize so much for sleeping here. I missed speaking with someone higher up about applying for a nursing job here. So I figured if I stayed here I could find someone." She was in such a panicked state that she was speaking very fast. Even her hands were moving very fast in a way. She was so flustered by the handsome man and having been caught sleeping she freaked out a bit. She was an easy one to fluster when she was caught in such a vulnerable state. She even grabbed her hair and tried fixing it. Her heart was racing a mile a minute. Her small hands were shaking a bit as she became even more overwhelmed.

The tiny woman sleeping on the infirmary bed slowly stirred from her sleep when Merek placed his hand on her forehead. He lifted his hand from her as she opened her eyes and asked if breakfast is ready. The woman must still be half asleep if that is the first thing she says after sleeping in an infirmary, or she was in a dream where she was having breakfast. Either way, Merek found this response to be adorable. Of course, when her eyes fully opened and she realized that she was no longer in a dream or fully awaken, she freaked out slightly scooted back a bit. He cannot blame her for that reaction. Most people meeting Merek for the first time have that reaction. It is usually because of how undeniably handsome he is, or how uncommon people of his kind are in this area. When the woman with skin color like snow recollected herself the best she can, she lowered her head toward him to suggest an apology, followed by a direct apology and an explanation for why she was here. According to what she told him, she is here to apply for a nursing job and she hoped to speak to someone who can help her go through the application process. Recollecting herself might have been Merek giving this woman too much credit. She looks as if she is suffering from a panic attack. He grabbed her hands that were moving so quick, gently kissed the back of them, gently smiled at her, then said,

"Relax love. I am not going to hurt you. That would go against my code as a doctor and a gentleman. If you want to become a nurse here, you met the right person to speak to. I am Dr. Merek Dracolatus, but Merek or Draco is my preference if it is just the two of us. Why don't you start by telling me your name...unless you prefer for me to call you beautiful."

Today is another hot day, just the way that Merek likes it. It is not like his homeland, but the heat is where he feels like he can be at his best. As for Atem, it will be the same song and dance. It is like he lives to pester Merek, yet the neither of them want to let go of each other's company. They have been best friends for years who have been through many events together. It will most likely continue this way until either one of them dies. With today being a hot day, Merek found it fitting to dress in something that will give him enough protection from the sun without feeling like he is suffocating. That did make him wonder what will his nurse Larina shall wear. White Rose, as he affectionally refers her as, made quite the impression on him some time ago. He had found her sleeping in the infirmary bed with seemingly nowhere to go, although later that assumption proved to be untrue. She could have gone back to the inn where she was staying, but she had come to the academy to speak to someone about being a nurse there. She was fortunate to meet Merek since he is the academy doctor. Her frail yet alluring appearance did not escape him, but he did not allow that to tamper with his judgment. He had to know where she was coming from, especially with her current knowledge and skill set. By the time he was done questioning her, he saw fit that she should be a nurse, but he still had to report this to Gannon.

Over the next two months, not only did he spent time teaching Larina what he knows as a doctor and sharing some of the things that he is working on personally in the medical field, he did not shy from his attempts to woo her. These attempts ranged from as subtle as a white rose left on her desk from time to time to something more direct by offering her shoulder rubs while they were alone while complimenting her on her work and other things about her that were non-work related. He found it adorable that she was oblivious to what he was doing at first, but it seems that she is starting to catch on as of late. Since today is the start of a new day at the academy, he figured he may as well start with something subtle. It will be something that she has seen before, but it never seems like she has not stopped appreciating the gesture. As soon as Merek arrived at the infirmary, keeping the door unlocked so that anyone may enter, he left a white rose and a small vial containing lavender oil for Larina on one of the infirmary beds. She will know those two items belong to her since Merek had done this before. Until she arrives, Merek will be crafting his medicines for the typical afflictions that he expects from his patients at the academy.

{Wearing: Simple }

She went into the infirmary early as she still had her hair down. She was finally catching onto Merek and his sweet gestures. She picked up a white rose as she smelled it. She was so happy she was hired on as a nurse here at the academy. This had her feeling like nothing could go wrong now. She placed it in a vase as she began to pull her long hair up. She gathered it into a high ponytail before securing it in place with a ribbon. Even pulled up her hair was still very long. She moved about the room in her simple looking dress. She seemed to have misplaced her apron once more.

"Now where did I put it this time? I know I hung it on the chair last night?" She began to crawl around on the floor hoping she would find it. She was always scatterbrained when it came to her apron for work. She was looking under the beds seeing if it had happened under one of them. She was confused when she couldn't find it on the floor. Still, on her hands and knees, she continued to look for it.
