A funny feeling nibbled the back of Ar'ad's mind, and it was one he knew all too well. Glancing over his shoulder, he spotted the Thread just in the nick of time. Turoth blinked Between to appear above it, and they avoided the silvery danger with ease.

XP: Target Accuracy: 6 +1 Flame Length: 4 General Stamina: 4 +6 General Agility: 4 +1 Between Accuracy: 5 Pain Resilience: 4 +1 Instinct: 6 +1 Luck: 4 +1
Flaming left and right, Turoth caught a small clump of Thread in front of them just as the wind changed, sending the ash back in their faces. Both dragon and rider grunted softly, but they shook it off and continued on. Those minor burns would heal later.

XP: Target Accuracy: 6 +1 Flame Length: 4 General Stamina: 4 +6 General Agility: 4 +1 Between Accuracy: 5 Pain Resilience: 4 +1 Instinct: 6 +1 Luck: 4 +1
Yet again the wind proved to be a formidable foe. This time it blew the duo right into a patch of Thread. Ar'ad took the brunt of it this time, his thigh the landing zone for the Thread. THey blinked Between to rid themselves of it, but not before it left a bit of a burn.

For the seasoned dragon and his rider, the lowest altitude was nothing to worry about. They flew relatively straight and flamed anything that came their way, even if the ash clouds tended to blow back on them more often than not.
Watch it, Turoth, Ar'ad warned softly as it happened yet again.
Star Flame Ar'ad of bronze Turoth Full Flight Round 1 Hour 2 5/5 HP: 19/46 Status Effect: If applicable.

I think we should head back to the Weyr soon to heal up before the high altitude portion of the flight, Ar'ad said as Turoth flamed long and hot, searing Thread much further away than he thought his dragon could reach. Color him impressed.
I agree, Turoth said, pleased with the flame, and the two Betweened back to the Weyr.

They had just changed formation when a gust of wind caught both rider and dragon off guard. "Shards, it's not much better down here, is it?" He cursed under his breath as Antereth was unable to compensate. The gust threw the blew well out of formation, but the dragon flapped valiantly, fighting the wind so he might return. Unfortunately, R'min could also feel the strain in the blue's wings, and a sudden twinge.
Careful, Antereth. This wind just won't give up.
He felt the blue dragon snort, but pride kept the blue on his forward trek. Eventually, he made it back to his rightful airspace, even if he were rather offended at the indignity of being blown around so easily.
1. Your dragon is blown out of formation. They struggle and flap against the wind, and only are able to recover when the wind dies down, feeling more exhausted than before. Worse, you think they may have pulled a muscles in their wing arm! Best watch it. [Light Damage -1 HP ]

Your dragon is starting to feel tired. This particular fight is wearing them down. A strong gust of winds tries to throw them out of their position. Roll a D4 to see what happens!
1. Your dragon successfully recovers, and keeps in formation. [+1 Stamina]
2. Your dragon begins to be blown out of position, but fights it by giving a few powerful flaps of their wings. There. No one noticed anything out of place.
3. Your dragon is blown out of formation. They struggle and flap against the wind, and only are able to recover when the wind dies down, feeling more exhausted than before. Worse, you think they may have pulled a muscles in their wing arm! Best watch it. [Light Damage -1 HP ]
4. Whoops! Your dragon is blown completely out of formation, and is too tired to stop it. Fellow wingriders notice, and trumpet warning, though it's unclear if your Wingleader has noticed or not. Either way, your dragon is just spent. Fatigue Effect For the next 3 rolled turns your dragon will suffer from Fatigue Effect. Any XP earned during those turns is negated. On the plus side, any negative status effect (i.e. additional Fatigue Effect or Bitten Tongue) is also negated, since your dragon is too tired to care. The only exception is if you get a status that cures Fatigue or your Wingleader/Wingsecond rolls a status cancelling roll.)

They had just returned to formation when R'min looked up. Sure enough, a small sliver of Thread was directly in their path. Blinking Between, the two made short work of the Thread, turning it to nothing but ash in a blaze of dragonfire.

Too close. Watch--! Even on the low altitude tier, threadfall was brutal. But the close call had them cracking Between, only to reappear above it and sear it cleanly.

R'min was feeling pretty good. So far, Antereth and he hadn't had much trouble, outside of the wind... He hoped C'sar, his sisters, and Fathers were all faring equally well.

Unfortunately, his luck wore out. A patch of Thread was blown directly into Antereth. The blue had been so busy dodging one patch, both rider and dragon didn't see the second tangle nearby. The blue dragon hissed as his leg was caught, but a quick hop Between made short work of the offending Threads.
...How dare it strike me! The blue snarled indignantly.

As Cortun reached to grab another handful of firestone, his stomach dropped feeling the emptiness of the bag. Shard it, he hadn't been watching how much they'd been using.
You're low on firestone! If you've already replenished recently (within the last 5 posts) you may you may choose to skip this roll and just do a general post for no XP. OR you can keep it and blame it on a faulty bag, or some other excuse for being without stone. Call for one of the weyrlings to send you another sack of stone! [Flag down a weyrling!
